Get Up Kids "on the wire" is an underrated effort imho like emo band does 70's rock album after a pop punk outbreak success record that is easily cited as being one of the best of the genre all together is a bold move and the songs are still quite catchy

I love how Bell Hooks really points out how the term "traditional values" is just a depoliticization of patriarchal values. Like we need to name patriarchy in all aspects! We live in a white supremacist imperialist capitalist patriarchal society, and to avoid calling it that is to surrender to a depoliticized position that just reinforces the very systmes of domination that we seek to abolish and replace!
