in my next life, i want to be a planarian.

when i was little, my aunt told me that she had read an article about these “immortal worms.” they’re these asexual genderless flatworms with big cartoony ocelli on their head. they also like to inhabit cool wet dark places. due to their regenerative abilities, they don’t die when cut in half, but duplicate…i never thought i’d be laying in bed at 3 in the morning as an adult, envious of those cute silly lil critters. wishing i had their simple carefree life. if you tried to kill me, i’d gain a new friend— and if you tried to kill us, we’d return as an army. i would never be alone. maybe i’d want to live forever if life was like that
