When Alphonse went back to town do you think he was ever able to fully see a new beginning without seeing Seth and everything he has lost?

Do you guys think when Seth and Alphonse were younger they talked about graduating together? Do you think they talked about being those old couples who withstand the hardships of time? About being the couple who were childhood sweethearts,the couple who saw the other and said "yeah they're the one".

But then Seth ran away, That would be Alphonse's first heartbreak.

When Seth came back to take Alphonse with him they would talk about getting out together...they talked about moving far out in the city away from the life they used to live and the life of crime they live in now...

When Alphonse needed to go home but Seth wouldn't let him that was his Second heartbreak.

When he met boo he felt alive again. He felt like a part of himself is back..he felt partly whole(Seth will always feel like a missing piece). He would talk to boo about his childhood (the happier parts of it and some the parts that didn't have Seth. It's cruel..like his erasing Seth from his life but he can't bear the feeling of remembering the happy days where Seth was still..Seth and not who he became now.) Alphonse and boo would talk about their future (and every time it would keep Alphonse awake at night realizing that he'll never have the future he dreamed about with Seth. Now he's talking about the future he always wanted not to Seth but to boo and it stings every time).

when Alphonse and Seth broke things off I like to think that Alphonse was scared that

1) someone won't fall in love with him ever again,Not ever to the same degree that Seth loved him that no one will ever know him the way Seth knows him,that no one will understand him the same way Seth does.

2) he won't fall in love ever again. He's scared of the unguaranteed thing that is his love. How can he be sure that he will ever feel the same way about anyone ever again? I like to think that he's scared that his love will never be enough and that falling in love with anyone else other than Seth means he's moved on and is ready to leave Seth behind in his past and to him that's a betrayal that he's not ready to do.

He doesn't know if his heart has ever belonged to anyone else aside from Seth,and his trying so hard to ignore the fact that Seth might have been the one and he will forever miss his chance to be his again.

It wasn't the 38 missed calls from charlie that concerned him It was the fact that there were zero calls from alphonse Part of the reason Seth loved Alphonse as much as he did was because he was loyal but it's also what scared the living shit out of him. If anyone crossed him.. he'd bury them. and now he really fucking crossed him

Alphonse: remember when you told me I should do whatever it takes to fix my relationship with boo? Seth: Yeah! I told you to give sugar whatever they want Alphonse: … Alphonse: and while that's good advice…you should know that..what..what they want.. Seth: …Yeah?
