✴︎ — Sutton had shown up to spite the woman who’d told her she probably wouldn’t — which made the vampire realise that she really ought to quit doing things out of spite because she wanted to be at home working on the new song. But she supposed it would be good. Make friends and all that.
Sutton-Vampire was scrawled in the old script she’d been writing in since the first world war. She had settled to the side of the room, eyes following the people around her, wanting to be aware of everyone before she began to actually participate in conversation. She watched as Yuri approached her, returning his smile. “ Hello Yuri. I’m Sutton, musician/composer, vampire, and one likely to use food to bribe you. ”
Yuri laughed, an amused smile on his lips, “Well Sutton, I have to warn you, right now my boss has a monopoly on food based bribes. Although I may have been known to trade free coffee for some bread from that amazing bakery in town.” Slipping back into the rhythm of socializing, now that he was actually doing it, didn’t seem as daunting as his mind made it out to be. “So, are you new to Echo, or have you been here a while?”
