When Yuji Itadori was a little boy, he had a crush on this girl.
This girl loved to wear dresses, but also looked good in tight jeans. This girl loved to show her smile, but would glare at anyone that pissed her off. This girl loved to socialize, but also preferred to be in her personal space. She was sweet, smart, intuitive, and most of all, she stood up for him when he was getting bullied for being the new kid in school. She was both gentle and tough. She was both playful and serious. She was both shy and confident. The yin-yang in her personality was not to an extent that made her weird, but it actually made her a lot more interesting and appealing in his eyes. How could someone be so adorable and intimidating at the same time? She knew how to control her emotions, she knew how to set her boundaries, and she absolutely knew just how easy it was to make Yuji’s heart go crazy.
But when he turned sixteen, many things changed.
How exactly? Okay, okay, let’s take a quick rewind of what happened eight years ago: Itadori had to leave town for a while after he lost his parents in a car crash, spent most of his youth in a rural prefecture with his grandfather, gained a humble neighbor as his best friend, learned that he had an interest with anything science, and now he was back in Tokyo as a broke high school boy living in a rundown apartment with his aunt. As much as he would love to narrate why he had to return to this metropolitan city, he didn’t exactly wish to touch the recent memories he had of his grandfather’s demise. The best way to describe his life wasn’t actually a rollercoaster, no. It was more of a loading page that was already on 99%, but thanks to certain issues, he had to restart back to 0%.
It was difficult for him to settle back into the very city he once left as a young child, seeing as everything just didn’t seem the same as how it was eight years ago. He had no friends, not even acquaintances that knew him enough to be his friend. There was no sense of familiarity that reminded him of his childhood even though Tokyo was his original home sweet home. And yet, despite the unwelcoming atmosphere that greeted him on his homecoming, he was thankful to know that there were some things that didn't really change after all. For starters, one of those things was his silly, hopeless crush on you.
Well, it wasn’t like he would have a chance or anything, but it was quite funny that his heart still doubled a beat when he caught sight of you in the hallways. Eight long years, he thought. Who knew that the girl he liked still went to the same school? You probably wouldn’t recognize him anymore. And you didn’t need to because you already had many friends gathering around you—people who were more worthy of your time and a group where you could fit in perfectly. There was no need for Yuji Itadori to join the picture. No need for a loser like him to insert himself in your world. Besides, you wouldn’t even take a second glance at him since he was a complete stranger to you now.
“Yuji? Is that you?”
Fuck. Maybe he was wrong.
“Oh, hey.” He let out an awkward laugh and adjusted his glasses, shutting his locker door as he faced you. “What’s up?”
Your chuckle was still the most angelic sound he had ever heard. “What do you mean ‘what’s up’? I can’t believe it’s really you,” you enthused, eyeing him like he was some kind of an alien. He would say you were practically speechless, but since you were still able to speak, then perhaps that wasn’t the right word. “I just… I haven’t seen you in, like, ten years—”
“Eight,” he corrected and afterwards placed a hand in his pocket in an attempt to look cool, “Some things happened and I had to leave town for some time. I’m really surprised that you still remember me.”
Was it him or did your eyes glimmer just now? “Of course, I do. I don’t forget people easily, especially you. I was really sad when you left.”
No, no, it must be his imagination. You couldn’t have liked him the same way he did you, right? “Well, uh… you look really gorgeous,” he complimented, watching how the corner of your lips curled upwards, “I mean, you know, like… Um, you look nice. Your face—”
“Who the hell is this punk?”
It wasn’t really the antagonism that surprised Yuji. It was how the jerk with tribal tattoos placed a protective arm around your shoulder, mocking him with a critical squint. He surely felt small from the guy’s presence, but before Yuji could introduce himself, you already took the initiative to say his name. “This is Yuji Itadori,” you uttered his name with such familiarity, “He’s my childhood friend, Sukuna. Be nice.”
“Nice to meet you,” Yuji still greeted him out of courtesy because it seemed that the guy was going to throw a tantrum if he didn’t. That, and because he looked like an upperclassman. Perhaps a senior?
No friendliness was returned, though. “Next time I see you trying to hit on my girlfriend, it’s your face I’m gonna hit.”
Great. First day of senior year and he already made an enemy.
But you know, Yuji wanted to be lowkey and so he did exactly that. After that day, he tried to just stay in his lane for the next few weeks and didn’t pursue talking to you any more than simple hi’s and hello’s in the hallways, actively avoiding your line of sight whenever he walked past your table in the cafeteria. He would be lying if he didn’t admit how disappointing it was to know that you were dating someone, not to mention an egotistical jerk at that. Because if anything, you deserve someone who would treat you right. Someone who would worship that ground you walked on. Someone who would look you in the eyes and tell you just how lucky they were for having the privilege to be loved by you. It had been eight years, but why was he still stupidly dreaming for a chance to be that ‘someone’ to you?
“Earth to Yuji, are you daydreaming?” Yes. Yes, he was. But with the look on Nobara’s face, he knew he had to cut himself out of trance. “Are you high?”
Megumi scoffed and flicked his forehead. “High from being in love. Snap out of it, idiot.”
“You guys are so mean to me,” he whined, resting his chin on his palm. Lo and behold were Itadori’s new friends. Although he had recently just met them, being in a group project for their physics class allowed him to get to know these two and he was certainly loving the wholesome atmosphere that surrounded them “I’m actually solving the problem in my head.”
Nobara rolled her eyes and took a bite from her burger. “Yeah, right. We already solved it, dumbass,” she huffed, now flipping through the papers, “Okay, how about this: The observation deck of a tall skyscraper is three-hundred and seventy meters above the street. What is the time required for a penny to free fall from the deck to the street below?”
Sorry, Kugisaki. He could easily answer the problem. What he couldn’t answer was how quick it was for him to get distracted every time you entered the room. You were the focal point of his attention, blurring everything else in the background so he could only see you. There was no logical reasoning behind the fluttering in his chest as you walked towards their table in that huge cafeteria, leaving your group of friends just so you could speak a word to Yuji. “H-Hey, Y/N. What brings you here?”
You sent all three of them a smile before looking down at the salmon-haired boy otherwise known as your childhood friend. “Have you been avoiding me because of Sukuna?”
Damn, did you always get straight to the point? He would have stammered for an answer, but thank the heavens for Nobara Kugisaki and her up-front reactions because her groan cut the conversation short. “Uh, hello? Can you see we’re working on something here?”
“Eight point sixty-nine seconds,” you told a clueless Nobara.
“Huh?”
“That’s the time required for a penny to free fall from the deck,” you added. Your clarification then made sense when Megumi calculated the equation and agreed with your answer. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt you guys. I thought you were just having a normal conversation.”
Yuji, who was panicking internally, had to speak up. “No, it’s alright. You didn’t know.”
It was going well until Megumi decided that it was funny to expose his friend. “Itadori’s been daydreaming about you, actually—”
He kicked the raven-haired guy under the table and feigned innocence when he gazed back at you with a smile. “Not true.” He forced a chuckle. “It’s not.”
“Oh, man. So, you’re not daydreaming about me?” You grinned and shook your head playfully. “Anyway, I actually just wanted to invite you guys. There’s a party at my place tonight and it’d be nice if you guys could come.”
His two friends looked at him for an answer, yet all he could do was to rub his nape shyly. Should he say yes? No? Yes? No? Nobara would kill him if he didn’t participate in their meeting after school. “We have this thing after school. Um, we’re going to meet with Nanami-sensei in Oscorp for our research—”
“—which won’t take long,” said Megumi, seemingly pushing his agenda, “We’ll be there at the party.”
You smiled, pleased by the answer. “Great! Guess I’ll see you later, then.” And before Yuji could even process what Megumi just did, you were already facing him again with a hopeful look. “Yuji, just so you know, Sukuna looks tough and all, but he’s actually a coward inside. Don’t worry too much about him.”
Did it seem like he was being a wimp around your boyfriend? Dammit. That was embarrassing to say the least. However, he looked forward to that night because he wasn’t really all that scared about your lover. What he wanted to avoid was getting involved in petty arguments knowing that Aunt Mei would make a fuss if Yuji came home with a bruise on his face. Perhaps all he had to do was keep away from Sukuna’s sight since Itadori was already satisfied at looking at you from afar.
But how could he explain to you that the reason he didn’t get to attend the party later that night was because he was bitten by a radioactive spider that ultimately changed his life?
You could tell something was wrong.
Yuji didn’t go to school for a week straight and you were extremely worried since the last time you spoke to him was when you invited him to the party which, according to his friends, he decided to ditch. As much as you were hurt for expecting him to come, your speck of sulkiness was soon replaced with curiosity when he didn’t show up in school for the following week. He could be grievously sick and you never would have had any idea because you didn’t know where he lived, didn’t know his phone number, and certainly couldn’t find him on social media.
You almost gave up and considered the heartbreaking thought that maybe Yuji Itadori simply decided to leave this city again. He probably had no reason to stay and saying goodbye to you was the least of his concerns. Still, you hoped that he could at least show himself to you for one last time because you were so down in the dumps that you never got the chance to speak to him before he left.
Apparently, that wish was granted when he did attend school again, acting a little strange, but being his normal self nonetheless. The only difference was that he blatantly avoided you this time and it was obvious how he would walk the opposite direction each time you were about to cross paths. He was clearly steering himself away from you and you weren’t sure if you should be offended or hurt, wondering why he was rejecting being anywhere near your presence as if you were a plague.
That cold war went on for a week. And another week. And another week until it turned into a whole month. You just couldn’t bear it anymore. Among the throng of students passing by, you looked around and scanned every face in the school cafeteria just to find the boy you wanted to see the most.
“You guys watched this spider guy on the news last night who beat up a bunch of robbers? He was so cool!”
“You mean Spider-Man? Heck, yeah. Dude, I’d do anything to meet him in person!”
“Babe, what do you think about going to my place tonight?” Sukuna whispered in your ear, displaying his sickening affection to you in a room full of teenagers. “I think it’s about time we spice up our relationship.”
“You wish.” You pushed him off and used your vision to search for a certain pink-haired guy, realizing that he wasn’t sitting together with Megumi and Nobara today.
There was a tug on your arm when you got up and it came from your now irritable boyfriend. “Where you going, huh?”
One of Sukuna’s friends egged on. “She’s probably looking for that dickwat,” said the guy, laughing and high-fiving his annoying friend as if they just made the funniest remark.
You rolled your eyes and left without a say, ignoring your boyfriend’s numerous calls to your name as you went ahead and searched for the guy that you just couldn’t stop thinking about. Luckily enough, you reached bingo when you saw him at his locker, completely oblivious to your unannounced arrival. “Yuji!”
A second. A mere second would have been enough for you to land face flat on the floor as you tripped on your own shoes for rushing over to him, but by some inexplicable force of luck, you were caught by Yuji’s strong grip who wasn’t even looking at you to know that you were about to fall. But he did, and now he was holding your waist tightly, face inches away from yours as your surprised eyes met his. “Nice reflex.”
It took him a few blinks to let you go. “Yeah, I guess.”
You sighed in relief and straightened the crease on your skirt. “Is everything okay?” you asked out of concern. “I haven’t seen you in a while and I thought you left again.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry, I…” Although he faced you, he still couldn’t lock eyes. “I didn’t mean to ditch the party. So many things just happened to me in the past few weeks.”
Reading his body language, you guessed that something was bugging his mind. “If you need to open up about anything that’s burdening you, you can tell me. I can keep a secret.”
And he appreciated that. He didn’t need to say it out loud, but the minute of displaying a grateful smile was all he had to show for you to feel relieved that he was at least okay. However, the next sixty seconds were spent in awkward silence, with Yuuji seemingly debating an internal thought for the most part. You were about to ask him if he wanted to hang out until he beat you to it and blurted out an unexpected admission, “Y/N, I like you.” Both of you froze. “I-I know that’s weird, but I do like you. I’ve liked you since we were kids and I never got to tell you, you know? It sucks that I never had the balls to tell you because you’re out of my league. You’re amazing, you’re… you’re one of a kind. Well, you also have a boyfriend now and I respect that, so I’m just admitting this to you so I can get it off my chest because I’m dealing with a lot of things right now and—”
They said oxytocin decreases anxiety and kissing would be the best form of affection to calm someone down. Maybe that theory was right because when you cupped Yuuji’s cheeks and pressed your lips on his, he was no longer fidgeting nor was he in a state of anxiety. His solicitude was concealed with surprise, eventually melting into the kiss and returning the movements of your lips with equal fervor.
This was your response to his admission. This was you, reciprocating his feelings.
“What the fuck?” Of course, here comes the cliche scene where your boyfriend steps in after catching you in the act, and now pushing your lover off of you. “Son of a bitch, get off my girl!”
You couldn’t even explain the fear that entered your body when Sukuna tried to throw in a punch on Yuji’s face, but was stopped by the unexpected strength of the latter’s grip. He was wrapping his hand on Sukuna’s fists, also surprised by himself when he did the action. “Itadori, be careful!”
“Oops, sorry!” he called out to no one in particular, dodging another punch from Sukuna whose fist now landed on the locker door. Ouch. Even Yuji himself felt bad, but your boyfriend and his pride would never let himself be on the other end of humiliation (despite doing the same thing to the other kids he used to bully), and so he charged after Itadori with a grunt and swung an extensive arm. “Hey, buddy, I’d love to fight you and all, but…” Yuji jumped from one wall to another, making a zigzag just to avoid Sukuna’s raging attacks. “I don’t wanna be in detention!”
Now that a crowd was forming and unwanted attention was being given to all three of you, you decided to get in between to try and stop the scuffle. “Stop it, stop! Sukuna, please.” You pressed your palms flat on his chest. “It’s my fault. I’m the one who kissed him.”
“Get outta my way!” He shoved you to the side with enough force for your head to hit the locker door, but he was only focused on getting revenge on Yuji who continuously hopped around like a bug trying not to get trapped. “Come here, you punk! Fight me!”
“Look, Sukuna. You don’t wanna fight me—”
“Come at me!”
As you winced from the light concussion you sustained, Yuji rushed to you and asked if you were okay while you could see from the back of his head that Sukuna was going to hit him. “Watch out!”
Strangely enough, Itadori didn’t have to turn around when he extended a foot behind him, kicking Sukuna who immediately flew across the hallway. Hoots and laughter echoed through the corridor as students mocked the school’s most popular guy for being completely disgraced by Yuuji’s combat skills. Where did he even learn it from? It looked like he had a sixth sense. “Y/N, are you sure you’re okay? I’m gonna bring you to the clinic.”
“No, I’m fine,” you answered in a hurried tone, “You have to leave. Sukuna’s gonna keep on—”
“Itadori!” Just when the guy was running to land an accurate punch, Yuuji made a backflip and in return, had Sukuna's fist diverted towards the school principal.
Oh, fuck.
Mr. Kimura was not at all pleased as he held his jaw. “In my office, now!”
Yuuji was a battery.
Bad logic, maybe, but the reason he said that was because he was about to present the (+) positive and (-) negative of living two lives. It had been weeks since he learned to embrace this new life as a wall-crawler, webslinger, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and it was safe to say that it wasn’t in his plan to be the guy who saved lives in the first place. Initially, he felt like he was going mad from the huge change in his daily routine thanks to a certain spider that injected its venom on his neck when he sneaked inside one of Oscorp’s labs (which also cost him a whole day of lecture from Nanami-sensei, by the way!). How insane was it that he was just a normal guy one day and he woke up as a hero the next? He could crawl buildings, he could shoot inorganic webs, he had healing abilities, and he had that spider-sense to name a few. It took him some time to adjust and he wasn’t going to utilize the said superhuman abilities until he was placed in a position where an elderly woman needed his help. Donning a red balaclava, a hoodie of the same color, and some blue pants—saving the old woman from being hit by a bus became his debut moment as the savior of the city.
Because he had basically catapulted himself into this pressure of ‘doing the right thing’, he had no choice but to continue using his abilities to stop crimes and help the helpless. He became a superstar overnight because he lived in an era where all it would take was a smartphone and a Twitter post for his spider counterpart to blow up on social media. And what should we learn from the internet? It was the comments. The critics. The anonymous people hiding behind their screens who either liked or disliked Spider-Man. Fine, fame attracted hate and he should probably take note from Hollywood celebrities, so it wasn’t surprising when they first dubbed him as a masked vigilante while claiming that all of his heroic moments were staged.
“Staged?!” he reacted negatively, doing a little throw-and-catch with his basketball as he lay on his bed. “How the hell can I stage those? Are people even thinking?”
Two weeks ago, he saved a construction worker from falling off a skyscraper. Last week, he beat up a bunch of robbers who turned out to be wanted convicts who recently escaped prison. This week, he fought off a hostage taker and prevented him from mass murdering a group of children. Staged? If he wanted to get famous, he would have just gone on Tiktok and did some overrated dance instead of risking innocent people's lives.
“I mean, what’s more suspicious than a random human spider appearing out of nowhere?” Megumi tried to make his point, sitting on Yuji’s gaming chair. “Even if you’re saving lives, people are questioning how it’s possible for a person to have all these spider abilities. If you wanna clear your intentions, maybe expose your identity in public?”
Yuji panicked and placed his ball on the side. “Okay, you promised me you’re not gonna tell anyone,” he reminded the dark-haired guy, “I wasn’t even going to tell you if only you didn’t catch me crawling in the ceiling when you entered my room.”
Megumi rolled his eyes like it was no big deal. “I don’t have a big mouth.”
“I’m just saying.” He raised his hands in surrender. “You’re the only one who knows. Not even Aunt Mei or…’
“Y/N?”
“Absolutely not.” Yuji’s heart rate increased. “I don’t know what her opinion is about Spider-Man and she has a boyfriend, so…”
The new best friend laughed under his breath. “After she kissed you? Are you stupid or what? You know, I don’t know what kind of world you’re living in, but in my world, it means she likes you.”
He sighed and stared at the full moon outside his window. “Well, why do you think it’d benefit both her and I if she knows I’m Spider-Man? Like, I’m not even Spider-Man, I’m just Spider-Boy!”
“Because,” Megumi ignored his unnecessary whining and put some thought into it, “if she’s gonna be your girlfriend, then you can’t hide it from her. Girlfriends can be really nosey and she’s gonna be suspicious about what you're up to. Imagine missing dates because you have someone to save. How are you gonna explain that?”
Yuji shrugged. “She’s not my girlfriend.”
“Theoretically speaking!”
“But it’s not gonna happen. She has high standards.”
“You’re so fucking dumb.”
“Hey, I’m smart and you know that!”
Frankly, it was comical to see Megumi stressing himself out by having even the simplest conversations with Itadori. “Whatever.” He gave up eventually and took out a suit from his backpack, later throwing the blue and red costume for him to catch. “There, I fixed your suit and added some high-tech performance that you might need. I also added new web cartridges for you like taser webs, web bullets, and more options.”
“Sick!” Yuji got up from bed and raved about his new Spider-Man suit. “Thanks, Fushiguro! I’m so lucky I have a genius as my best friend. You’d do well as the next CEO of Zen’in Technologies.”
Megumi ignored his praises and instead, criticized him about his chosen costume. “Why wear a spandex, though?”
“Doesn’t my butt look good in it?” Itadori joked while stripping off and getting a foot inside the suit. “Just kidding. It’s easier to move when it’s skin-tight.”
Unfortunately, Yuji’s excitement to try out his enhanced suit was interrupted when there was a knock on his door. “Yuji? It’s dinner time!” Shit. It was Aunt Mei. “Yuji?”
He kicked the suit under his bed, now turning hypervigilant. “Yeah, yeah. I’m coming!”
The door flew open and how scandalous must it be for Aunt Mei to see a half naked Yuji standing in front of a blushing Megumi who was clearly embarrassed from the obvious misunderstanding that flashed before the woman’s eyes. “Oh, hey, Megumi. You’re gonna join us for dinner.”
He cleared his throat. “Uh, it’s alright. I gotta go. My dad’s, um…”
“Your dad,” she replied with a visible gleam in her eyes, “is here and I’ve been chatting with him for half an hour now. Come on, get up, you two.”
Aunt Mei and Megumi’s father? What a plot twist.
“Back off, Spider-Man!”
Yuuji extended an arm to shoot his web on the surface behind the burglar, pulling the string back so the brick could hit the back of the man’s head. “It’s rude to steal, you know.”
“Arghh!” The muscular man charged his gun and fired at Itadori while he swung around, slinging his web to sway on every street light like he was Tarzan, “I’m going to kill you!”
“Not a chance, sir!” Yuji retorted in his high-pitched voice, putting his feet together as he spun from a light pole and consequently kicked the man’s chest at a perfect circumference. As soon as the culprit fell on his buttocks, Itadori quickly used his web to snatch the gun from his hand, throwing the firearm away and shooting another thicker web to completely trap the man against the floor. Whew! “You’re a bad guy.”
“Yeah? Why don’t you take off that mask of yours and show us who you are, you fucker?” The man tried to resist, flapping around like a fish with his upper body trapped from the spiderweb. He then tried to spit on Spider-Man’s mask which prompted the hero to fire off a web on his mouth as a consequence.
“Come on. My best friend made this suit. Don’t spit on it,” he quipped, shooting more web to keep his ankles in place. “That’ll dissolve in an hour, pal.” And as Yuji received an incoming message on his suit’s lenses, he decided that his duty was done. “The TMPD will arrest you before that, though. See ‘ya!”
“Way to go, Spider-Man!”
“We love you!”
“You’re our hero!”
He wasn’t going to lie. The attention was overwhelming, but at least people loved him. He was recognized for being the good guy and he was probably even more famous than Justin Bieber in his early teens. You could hear chants and cheers and claps from strangers who watched him swing all over Shibuya, yelling his usual “woohoo!” as he launched his web from building-to-building until he finally reached the window to his room. He quickly climbed in and removed every piece of Spider-Man paraphernalia from his body to remove evidence that he was, in fact, the famous masked man.
Why was he rushing, you wonder? It was because of the message he received from the lens of his suit.
From: Megumi
I don’t think we can talk about that black symbiote we discovered in your suit. She followed me to your apartment.
She? Who was Fushiguro even referring to?
He only got his answer when he opened the door, faking a yawn in his PJs as he saw Aunt Mei, Megumi, and… you. “Y/N, h-hey!” His eyes widened in panic. “What brings you here?”
It was Aunt Mei who narrowed her eyes. “Hang on, how did you get there? You weren’t in your room when I peeked in.”
Yuji concealed his incoming barrage of excuses with a laugh. “Are you sure you don’t need to get your eyes checked, Aunt Mei? I’ve been sleeping all this time.”
“But…” Your curious eyes were glossy for some reason. “You were just…”
Both Yuji and Megumi exchanged glances, communicating through eye movements as the former telepathically asked him why you were here and the latter saying he had no damn idea. The only reason they even managed to escape this awkward situation was because of the breaking news that flashed on the TV screen.
JUST IN: Spider-Man catches burglar from breaking into jewelry store
Footage of the man he encountered earlier was shown on the news, being handcuffed by the TMPD officers while they played a side-by-side of the CCTV recording of Spider-Man kicking some ass. His ego was already up the ceiling knowing full well that people would be gushing about his superhero persona, but it was your comments that boosted his ego even more. “He’s so amazing,” you mumbled, eyes full of wonder, “I hope I can meet him soon.”
Megumi suppressed a chuckle. “Right.”
“What’s so funny?” you asked, “It’s true. I love Spider-Man.”
Yuji cleared his throat. “I agree. Spider-Man’s a really great guy. Totally badass.”
ANOTHER BREAKING NEWS: Spider-Man has a clone and he’s far from a hero!
What the fuck? Saving his violent reactions for later, Itadori stood in complete befuddlement as the TV showed low quality photos of a guy in an all-black version of his Spider-Man suit who was climbing Tokyo Skytree. Reports said that there were two casualties when the unidentified man used its amorphous black liquid in the form of webs, shooting people for fun knowing that they couldn’t escape the highest part of the tower. The villain referred to himself as ‘Venom’ and announced that Spider-Man was his greatest enemy. Who the hell?
“The symbiote!” Both Yuji and Megumi exclaimed in unison, leaving you and Aunt Mei to jump in surprise.
“The what?” asked Aunt Mei, only to be met by the denial of her own nephew.
“It’s nothing, Mei-san.” Itadori then gave his raven-haired best friend a go signal before he turned to you. “Y/N, you need a word with me? Can we just do it tomorrow?”
Your expression became desolate. You mustn't be aware, but Yuji could feel a prick in his heart whenever you looked sad and he felt bad for unintentionally hurting your feelings. Again. “Oh, okay…” As you got up, you grabbed your bag and gave Aunt Mei a courteous bow. “Sorry for coming unannounced—”
“No, Y/N wait.” The pink-haired guy took your hand. Dammit. It was you over anyone else. How could Yuji forget that? “Let’s talk in my room.”
Listen, he wasn’t thinking about dirty things by being alone in a room with you, only that this situation felt surreal. Having the girl of his dreams inside his bedroom might sound like a fantasy, but it was real. It was an actual reality that he only managed to obtain after he and Megumi decided to postpone their conversation for next time. For now, Spider-Man needed to live his normal life as Yuji Itadori, and that non-superhero version of him willingly gave all of his attention to you. He didn’t need his spider-sense to read the unusual sadness in your countenance and that was how he started the conversation as you two sat at the corner of his bed.
“Something bothering you?” he asked, squeezing the hand on your lap. “How can I help?”
When you lifted your eyes to meet his gaze, they seemed full of fear and worry. “Yuji, I just wanna ask you to be careful, okay?” you began, trailing off shortly, “Sukuna, he… he’s acting really damn strange. I broke up with him and he got so angry. There was manic in his eyes, it’s like darkness took over him and he said he’s gonna get back you for taking me away and for humiliating him. I’m sorry.”
Yuji noticed the bruise on your lower lip, which was concealed by layers of make-up. “Did he hurt you?”
“Well, he was angry.”
“But still!” His knuckles felt cold. “He shouldn’t be hurting a woman!”
You cupped Yuji’s cheeks and pressed your foreheads together. “It’s my fault. I dragged you into it because I got so happy when you told me you liked me and I… Well, I’ve waited to hear it from you since we were kids. I liked you, too, Yuji. And I still do.”
For the first time in a long while, Yuji Itadori felt at home.
Maybe home wasn’t any place nor any house. Maybe home was simply you. Maybe knowing that you liked him the same way he liked you was his oasis in this otherwise chaotic world.
It was cathartic and gratifying to hear that you liked him after all these years and he could only wish he had told you a lot sooner. If only he had been more courageous and less insecure, more honest and less shy, more hopeful and less pessimistic. But he couldn’t erase his past and it was too late to regret, so in order to bask in this moment of joy, he crashed his lips onto yours and submitted to the euphoria of kissing the girl he loved the most. It was sweet—the taste, the feeling, the amount of happiness he had in his heart. He let the kiss intoxicate his mind so it could sink into him that this wasn’t just his imagination. You were as real as you felt in his arms when he pulled away and embraced you. “I’m going to protect you,” he made a promise, “Don’t worry about Sukuna or anyone else. I’ll be here for you and I’ll make sure nothing will bring us apart.”
You leaned in to peck his lips again. “I’m glad I have you, Yuji.”
How did it feel like to be in a relationship?
Friendly reminder to all readers that Yuji should be the last person to ask, unless people would be willing to read a 500-page novel of how blissful he had been for the past two weeks since he began dating you. Even Megumi himself got sick and tired of it, claiming that he was living the Yuji life way too much and the Spider-Man life way too less.
Okay, that was unfair. “I never wanted to become everyone’s hero!”
Fushiguro sat across from him in an empty school science lab, lips forming a downward slope as he focused on fixing his best friend’s web-shooter. “I get that you’re happy to have a girlfriend, but be realistic sometimes. People are counting on you. You know that the Venom is out there trying to assassinate civilians just to spite you while you’re out here being lovey-dovey with a girl.”
“She’s not just a girl, Fushiguro.” It was rare for Yuji to be this rigid and serious around him, but he was feeling too pressured and he wasn’t liking it at all. “I’m just a kid and I wanna live a normal life without having to fight villains every now and then. I wanna be just me.”
“But you’re not you anymore!” Megumi placed the web-shooter down and drew in a deep breath. “I’m not friends with you because you’re Spider-Man. I chose to be your friend because you always carried the best intentions towards other people. When I asked you why you wanted to use your abilities to protect the citizens, you told me that your grandfather’s last words were to help those who are in need. Did you suddenly forget that?”
He looked down and resorted to momentary silence. Silence that lasted until he was able to form his own thoughts about it. “It’s just that… I’m finally with the girl I love and I’m scared that being Spider-Man will take all of that away from me.”
“You heard how she adores Spider-Man,” the guy pointed out, “It’s not like she’s gonna hate you if she found out that you’re him. Be rational. Would you rather just sit and watch how people are dying because of you? How do you live without guilt?”
“Don’t put it that way!” Man. Yuji buried his face in his hands. “I carry that guilt every night and I always think of how much I wanna catch Venom, but…”
Megumi shook his head, displeased. “Do you realize that Y/N will still be in danger one way or another because the Venom could target her at any given time?” He loaded the specialized web cartridges and pushed it to Itadori. “If you wanna keep her safe, you have to kill the guy.”
“I don’t kill people,” he mumbled in protest.
“It’s not a person,” was Fushiguro’s counter, “It’s a dangerous being that’s murdering people for fun. There are two types of people, Itadori. One who stops a crime, and one who simply watches it.”
In other words, Yuji should know better than this. Without Megumi’s help, he never would have been the Spider-Man who could shoot all these amazing webs while wearing this amazing suit. Granted, he still had the superhuman power, but his resources wouldn’t have been as accessible if not for his supportive sidekick. Abandoning the Spider-Man role would mean that he was disregarding his friend’s efforts. It would mean that he was willing to let innocent people die because of him. It would mean that he was never truly honoring his grandfather’s last dying wish. Keeping all this in mind, Itadori exhaled a heavy sigh and put on his wrist-worn device. “You said I got flame webbing and sonic disruptors?”
A satisfied smile popped up on his best friend’s face. “Yeah, you can use them for the symbiote. Regular webs won’t work.”
“Alright.” Locked and loaded, Yuji bumped Megumi’s fist. “I’m gonna tell her tonight.”
When he said ‘tonight’, he didn’t exactly say how. Otherwise, he would have specified his statement, right? What he really meant was that he would tell you through FaceTime after he had his rehearsed speech prepared and he could easily hang up in order to avoid the embarrassment of seeing your negative reaction. It was easy. It should be easy as long as he followed the script.
And the first line went exactly like this, “I need to tell you something important.”
You smiled through the phone screen. “Uh-oh, is it bad?”
“It depends.” He chuckled uneasily. “Can I just leave hints and you’ll guess what I am?”
Lame. The simple three words were ‘I am Spider-Man’, but he still chose to be a coward by playing a game. “Hmm. That makes me a lot more curious. Go on, then.”
He gulped and raised the phone parallel to the ceiling. “Okay, so… uh, I like climbing and crawling. I’m a fast runner, too.”
“Mhm, so you’re athletic is what you mean.”
Yuji’s heart stumbled on its own rhythm. Perhaps he had to say something more specific. “My hands, when they do the job, I release this sheer, white fluid. well, I have to brew my own fluid and it becomes tight and sticky when I shoot it out of my—”
“Yuji.” You suppressed a smile. “Are you trying to cybersex with me?”
His ears suddenly felt hot and only now did he realize that his words were completely taken out of context. He was already blushing so hard that he had to cover his face with one hand. “It’s not what you’re thinking,” he swore to God, “Can I just… are you alone in your room right now?”
Holy cow. That sounded weird, too.
“Yeah, I am.” Your voice faded at the end of the sentence.
Well, since he already fucked up, it was now or never. “How would you feel if Spider-Man knocked on your window at this hour?”
Your answer sent more Cupid-spawned arrows to Itadori’s heart. “I’d tell him he’s amazing, but I have a boyfriend so he can’t come in.”
How could he deserve someone like you? You were all he would ever want on a girl. “Stay there. I’ll be back.”
He told you to stay, but where did he go exactly? You were guessing he went to take a bathroom break, but it had been fifteen minutes and there was no sign of a Yuji Itadori on your laptop’s screen. It was either he had fallen asleep or he was taking a really huge dump, and whichever it was, you decided to reach for your phone and give him a call.
But as the phone rang on your left ear, a sudden knock on the window filled your right. You experienced a whiplash of fear, surprise, and confusion all in one minute as you turned around to see an upside down Spider-Man dangling on his web outside of your window. Impossible. You rushed towards him, lightly chuckling as the masked man waved at you until you opened the window and allowed for the cold breeze to blow your hair back.
“Hey, beautiful. I heard I’m not allowed to come in because you have a boyfriend,” the young vigilante spoke in a playful tone and it didn’t take you long enough to put two and two together.
That voice. That personality. The words he spoke about you earlier. “Yuji?” His name escaped your lips as it finally made sense.
Although he had a mask on, you could sense that he was smiling. “You caught me.”
You couldn’t believe it. No other words came out of your mouth as you were rendered speechless with the realization that you were dating Spider-Man. He was the subject of every girl’s affection right now, and you were the lucky one who had the privilege of dating such a wonderful guy. But whether he was Yuji or Spider-Man, nothing really changed. Your feelings for him went deep. “You didn’t have to hide it. I wouldn’t be telling anyone, I promise you.”
“Are you sure you’re fine with it?” he asked while allowing you to peel the mask from his chin and up to the middle of his nose bridge.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” You gave him a soft kiss, moving in perfect sync with his lips. The way he enveloped his mouth around yours made your heart tingle inside, allowing fire to ignite in your veins from the heated make out session that you two just shared. The kiss was intense and you were already catching your breath when you pulled away to see how your boyfriend hauled himself with his web, climbing inside your window only to press you against the wall and kiss you much deeper than the last. “Yuji.”
He stared into your eyes. “Hm?”
You wrapped an arm around his neck. “Can you swing me around the city?”
Perks of dating Spider-Man: you get a free ticket to the exhilarating Spider-Man swing ride.
Fair warning to people who have acrophobia because this ride certainly wasn’t for them. You were a hundred feet off the ground, screaming at the top of your lungs as you held onto your boyfriend tight—arms and legs wrapped around his frame when he fired his web from one skyscraper to another. He towed you around the city just as you requested, joining your shrieks of excitement as the adrenaline rush intensified the twist in your gut. You decided to close your eyes when he got too high, blinded by the flashing lights of colorful Shibuya and its plethora of LEDs, and simply basked yourself with the cold air that kissed your face. “I can’t believe this!” your voice ripped through the open air.
“Me neither!” Yuji yelled as the sound of your voices scattered from the open space. People from below were cheering for Spider-Man as he turned the city into his playground.
The swinging was soon replaced by another ride also known as the ‘spider crawl’ because the hero latched onto Tokyo Skytree’s wall, climbing the surface and stimulating your adrenaline more than he already had. There, at the highest part of the tower, he held your waist and let you stand on a metal railing. “This is so crazy.”
Itadori took off his mask and shot you a loving smile. “We can do this again anytime you want.”
Perks of dating Yuji Itadori: he was Yuji Itadori.
“I love you,” he was the first one to say it.
And you didn’t hesitate returning the same words. “I love you.”
Love meant many things.
If you type in a quick Google search, the result would tell you that love ‘encompasses a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection, to the simplest pleasure.’
For Yuji, love was caring for someone so deeply. Love was finding happiness in that person. Love was giving them their own happiness. Love was being devoted and sincere. Love was to sacrifice. Love was to protect someone close to you. Love was doing your utmost best to keep them safe.
Love was you.
But how could that love last when he couldn’t even protect you? When, because he was playing his duty as Spider-Man, he jeopardized your supposedly peaceful life by dragging you to the dangers of his? Just how unbelievably stupid was he to think that his perfect relationship could last long without any threat?
He may have managed to go head-to-head with Venom, but he never expected that it would be at the cost of your safety. “Let her go!”
“Catch her if you can.” The horrendous black creature hissed at him with his slavering tongue, showing his set of sharp, rotten teeth while holding you hostage on top of a crane.
“I said let her go!” Yuji shot his web on your stomach, pulling you back before Venom cut it with his razor teeth. “Aghh, don’t touch her!”
Your scream was horrifying when the black symbiote that locked you at the boom tip loosened his grip a little, leaving you to hang like a doll using only one arm to support your body. “Yuji! Help!”
Venom spoke in a familiar voice, finally unveiling his face when the symbiote allowed an opening. “Remember me?”
Sukuna. He should’ve known!
“H-How?” You yelped in terror when the crane moved around. “Help!”
This was Yuji’s fight and you didn’t need to be a part of it. He could never forgive himself if something happened to you, so his main plan was to keep Sukuna separated from you and once he managed to do it, he would be launching his webbing flames and sonic disruptors which were the best combination to eliminate the alien symbiote off its host. He pitied Sukuna for having gone through such a brutal transition, but it didn’t really seem that he was resisting it. The reason why his nemesis was so powerful was because the symbiote bonded with him and there was only one desire in his mind: to kill Yuji Itadori.
“Sukuna, we can talk about this!” Yuji attempted to bargain, and yet was declined. “Sukuna, please! Let Y/N go! This isn’t you. Don’t let the creature take over your mind!”
Attacks from the black tinted spider twin came in the form of punches as the two of them grappled at the base of the boom, climbing upwards and shooting each other with webs and symbiotes respectively. He took this chance to start using his webbing flames and he did it by sending a fusillade of webs that burned into flames when they hit Sukuna’s Venom skin. The projectiles were launched repeatedly along with the sonic disruptors, and the villain’s distraction became the perfect opportunity for Yuji to scoop you out of the boom.
First plan was to let you escape, the second was to destroy the evil symbiote.
After swinging across the street by propelling from the high walls, Spider-Man found a dark alley where could finally put you back on your feet.
“Y/N… You’re putting yourself in danger for just being with me.” It pained him to say all this, but he had to. It was for your sake. For your family. For the people that could love you so much more than what he could only offer. Tonight was a lesson that he was never going to be the guy that would keep you safe. He was a masked menace who only exposed you to danger and you deserved better than this. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I’m sorry I got you involved. I’m sorry I put your life at risk. I’m sorry I—”
Despite being held captive at a crane a few minutes ago, there was no fear in your eyes when you pulled him for a passionate kiss, locking your lips around his just to silence his doubts. And by the time you pulled away, he didn’t expect that his words hurt you like a thousand knives. “Don’t you ever say sorry for wanting to be with me,” you were tearful as you said it, “I love you and that's all that matters.”
“But look at us,” he said, unmasking his face, “Look at what I put you through. I don’t want this life. I just wanna be with you. I wanna be a normal teenage guy, not Spider-Man or anyone else. I just wanna be Yuji Itadori.”
You pressed your forehead against his. “With great power comes great responsibility,” you uttered the words with the intention to clear the chaos in his mind, “Your abilities are gifts. You were fated to have them, and now you have people looking at you with hope. I know you didn’t ask to become Spider-Man, but—”
“There you are!”
Yuji’s face became ashen. He watched with numb horror how a half burnt Sukuna used his web to send you flying against a wall. Hitting your head wasn’t the most devastating part. It was the piece of metal that pierced through your body, thus sending blood to gush out of your mouth. “NO! Y/N!”
He was in denial, and in pain, and in a fit of rage. Itadori used the strongest feeling to dominate him and attacked Sukuna with continuous usage of webbing flames and sonic disruption. Yuji screamed with anger as the rapid shooting left his foe engulfed in huge flames, sending him to his fatal end.
“Y/N!” His heart broke in half, his eyes flooded with tears. This can’t be. This is a nightmare. “No, Y/N. You’re okay. Y-You’re okay.”
Truthfully, you weren’t. The metal was deep within your gut, keeping you afloat ten feet above the ground. You struggled with words as you raised a weak arm to touch him, and yet you couldn’t. Your only option was to smile through the agonizing pain. “D-Don’t regret.”
“No, no. You’re gonna be fine,” he brushed the hair out of your face, “We’re gonna take this thing out of you and you’re gonna be fine. Please, please stay with me.”
The awful clutch on his chest had his heart in knots. Time slowed as the gravity of the situation weighed it down, leaving just you and him in a dark alley with the rest of the world acting as a background. He touched your cheek and saw that your eyes were lachrymose from the buildup of tears, but there wasn’t anything much he could do but to accept reality.
The reality was that Spider-Man just lost the only girl he would ever love.
“No,” he sobbed, pressing his forehead on yours, “No, Y/N. I-I’m sorry. Don’t go, please.”
As your eyes stayed open—still, silent, unmoving—he knew that you were no longer a body with a soul.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Three months.
They said it was long enough to grieve someone’s death and Yuji watched how people eventually moved on with their lives after your death as if he was the only one who found no purpose in this cruel world. Pain wasn’t even enough to describe how he was feeling. It was so much more than a simple heartache, like his soul was burned along the flames that engulfed Sukuna and the symbiote that clung to his body. There were moments where he was tempted to pull a Romeo and Juliet because it seemed like it was his only hope from escaping the constant pull that trapped him in an abyss of misery. But time and time again, he was reminded of your last words of how having great power equaled having great responsibility, and so he tried to get better in honor of you.
Unfortunately, being Spider-Man was not in his repertoire anymore.
He stopped wearing the infamous red and blue suit after you died, stopped being the hero that the city needed, and stopped forcing himself to be the savior that couldn’t even save his own girlfriend. He tried to live a normal, humble life as Yuji Itadori and abandoned his other life as the webslinger, but sometimes there were moments where he felt immensely pressured to return.
BREAKING NEWS: Spider-Man, we need you!
“Folks, the crime rate in Tokyo had a significant increase ever since our masked hero seemed to have disappeared. Today, we bring you reports of two armed men who broke into a lady’s condominium and stole a billion yen worth of personal property—”
“Yuji?” Aunt Mei called from the living room. “Where are you going, darling?”
It wasn’t what you were thinking. No, he wasn’t going to be Spider-Man today.
“Just somewhere,” he answered, slinging his backpack on one shoulder, “I’ll see you later.”
The direction of his adventure today was to the apartment of the most famous man in the world of sorcery. Megumi was the one who introduced Yuji to the knowledge about this guy, telling him all of his capabilities and powers that any normal person would have thought was completely impossible. He would have thought so, too. But surely, being bitten by a radioactive spider and having superhuman abilities gave Itadori a fair leverage into believing that the sorcerer was indeed legitimate.
And that was why he was here now, standing in front of Satoru Gojou who led him inside his spacious duplex penthouse.
“Spidey,” the white-haired man greeted him in a comical tone, “How can I assist?”
Yuji held his breath and stared at the majestic blue eyes that held power to the universe’s domain and all its infinite possibilities.
“Please turn back time and make everyone who knows Yuji Itadori forget him, including my girlfriend.”

(hmm would it be considered non-con elements?)
edit: part 2 will include fingering I realized. oh well…who are we to complain 🤝
Patience was never considered to be Venom's strong suit. Neither was he known to hold back for a host, yet here we were. He watched through your eyes, a coiled mass of a shadow lurking just beneath the surface of your consciousness.
"This is beneath us." Venom's voice was booming, echoing through the chambers of your mind. You ignored it, mainly because it was his fifth complaint this night, three of them being that there were no tater tots on this office dinner you were invited on.
His voice was filled with indignation and disbelief when you two had looked over the menu only twenty minutes ago. "Tater tots are a culinary need. Highly efficient. Salt. Fat. Crunch. Optimal for us. This place is very odd and clearly does not have any taste." Venom had insisted, while you were honestly just trying to figure out where all the exits were located. Just in case the sensory load of needing to keep a certain symbiote in line became too much.
"Alistair, can you pass over the salt please?", said your coworker Diana, to which your middle aged coordinater shifted his arm, accidentally knocking over your wine glass, not only staining the apricot table cloths but your gorgeous silk dress too.
Venom was absolutely, unequivocally revolted. The sheer, unmitigated stupidity of the situation was grating on his nerves like sandpaper.
Not only was the menu a pathetic insult to their shared biology, lacking any semblance of salt, fat or the glorious crunch of a potato but the environment itself was a sensory nightmare. The clinking of silverware, the dull roar of mindless conversation, the smell of expensive, uninspired hors d'ouevres… it was all wrong. And then, the pinnacle of incompetence; the human had spilled the wine. "Pathetic. Utterly pathetic." He hissed internally, appalled by the mishap, his voice a dark vibrating sneer that echoed through your skull. "A useless, foolis creature. He shouldn't be allowed to move his limbs in a civilized society, let alone sit at a table with us."
You were about to give him a piece on your mind, arguing it was an accident, really, while getting ready to excuse yourself from the table to wash up in the bathroom which you had spotted earlier. Before you could stand up, Alistair was all too ready to give you a hand, a timid smile accompanying the sheet-white, toothy smile he wore. "I-I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." soaking his handkerchief in water, he arched a brow to which you hesitantly nodded, corners of your lips curling up in a faint smile, "At least let me lend you a hand, it's the least I can do."
"Thanks". A few wipes to your arm and the blots of dark red were barely visible. You reminded yourself to grab a stain remover on the way back home, preferably with several packages of tater tots to calm a very agitated black blob inside you.
"And now look! He is touching you. He is touching you with that…that sodden, pathetic scrap of fabric!" The symbiote felt the spike of irritation in your own mind, the subtle tension in your muscles as you tried to maintain a professional mask. Venom, truth be told, wanted to lash out, not just because of the mess, but at the way your coordinator looked at you; that timid, apologetic gaze was a lie.
Venom could smell the underlying condescension, a clumsy attempt at intimacy that felt like a violation of their shared space. And you even leaned into it?! He felt the obsessive urge to surge forth, to coat the table in black, suffocating biomass and drag you away from this indignity. "Do not smile at him. He does not deserve the warmth of your expression. He has stained your dress, wasted time and is a distraction." Venom growled, the thoughts heavy and suffocating.
"We are leaving. Now. If we must endure this…this mediocrity, it will be in the silence of our own home. And…and you will buy the large bags. The extra salty ones. I am starving and this human's incompetence is making us ravenous" he insisted, feeling the restless movement of his mass beneath your skin, a frantic, hungry churning that mirrored your internal desire to simply vanish from the room.
No.
"No?!"
We're not leaving. Not yet. Perhaps in an hour, when dessert is served but it will come off as very weird if I just excuse myself and leave.
You kept up the professional exterior with ease, smiling effortlessly as the conversation of the latest office gossip continued steadily.
Venom's conciousness surged with a violent, oily agitation that made your nerves felt like they were brushed by static. The sheer audacity of the mental command was enough to make the symbiote let out a silent snarl that vibrated through your very teeth.
He could feel the stubbornness of your willpower, the polite, socially-conditioned restraint that forced you to entertain this foolery, play the part of the cooperative professional while your clothes were ruined and your space invaded by a creature lacking much significance. To Venom, every second spent in this room of mediocre scents and lukewarm wine was a second stolen from their true purpose.
He didn't just wanted to leave; he wanted to reclaim what was his, to pull you away from the noise and the light and the pathetic, small-minded people who didn't unterstand the scale of what you belonged to.
He began to exert a subtle, rhythmic pressure against his host's motor functions. It wasn't a full takeover, not yet, but a heavy, restless thrumming in the muscles of your limbs, a low frequency-vibration designed to make sitting feel like an impossible task.
What do you think you're doing?
"What does it look like? We will not last one more minute of this mediocrity. If you do not move, I will make sure you cannot stay still. I will make your hands tremble, your knees weak, and I will make this very, very difficult for you to maintain your little 'professional' mask. Decide. Now."

Seeing his face had been an accident. It was your first week on the job. You were still adapting to the earpiece glued to your head, Pepper’s voice echoing through your skull, and the mounting list of tasks you’d accepted for Mr Stark.
“Absolutely,” You were saying, “Yes, I’ll make sure we get a good shot. Catching a civilian. Catching…me?” You hesitated, voice uneven with the notion of throwing yourself off a building to be caught by NYC’s newest hero. This job meant everything to you - you’d begged for years, spent countless nights dreaming for a chance to walk the halls of the Avengers’ Tower - so you agreed, despite the fear it jolted through you. Whatever Pepper or Tony wanted, you’d do.
You might be Pepper’s niece - and very young to be their intern - but you’d been told no special treatment. So you wouldn’t say no to a single thing. Even if that included jumping from the roof.
And Mr Stark was right; the public would eat that shit up.
“Sure,” You squeaked, “Of course, Mr Stark.” You nodded frantically, ponytail swinging as you rushed down the halls. “And less talking. Got it. Don’t let Spidey take the mic. Understood.” You nodded again, automatic doors swinging open as you approached, but stumbled as you crossed the threshold.
The hero in question - a teenager - stood before you. Mask clutched tightly in one hand, his chest heaved from the moves he’d been testing. Webs still dangled from the ceiling like abandoned balloons in a shopping mall. Your voice broke, withering in your throat, and his head swivelled in your direction.
You stared at each other. Your voice died. You nodded again, though Tony Stark couldn't see you. Pepper joined the call.
“You don’t have to do any of those things.” She dismissed whatever Tony had suggested. “Just keep an eye on him. Get a good shot for the fans. Don’t let him talk so much. That kid can’t keep anything a secret.” Your head lifted up and down mechanically.
“Y/n?”
“Yes. Sure.”
“Okay. Talk to you later.” The voice in your ear disappeared. There was a beep that signaled the call was over.
“Sorry.” Your thumb gestured over your shoulder to the way you came. “I’d have knocked,” You said slowly, “But there’s no…it opens by itself.”
“Yeah.” The brunette breathed, “They open automatically.” He nodded and swallowed thickly. Then, he looked down at the mask in his hand.
“Not all of them.” You admitted, “Mr Stark has a child lock on yours. It opens for anyone. He doesn't like to leave you unattended.”
“Oh.”
You shrugged apologetically. Your eyes flicked to the hood in his hand, then up to his face.
“You’re my age.”
“Um,” Spiderman glanced at his mask, paled, and then looked back at you in distress. “I think so.”
“I’m sorry.” You confessed, and stumbled down the stairs to the centre of the room. “I won’t tell anyone. Obviously. I’ll lose my job. Besides, I already know your name and everything. I just wasn’t sure what you looked like.”
Pretty, you thought. Handsome, young, kind. All strong words to describe him.
“You know my name?” Peter’s brows furrowed. You nodded like it were obvious, veins thrumming with the endless new-job anxiety. You dropped your eyes to the holographic screen you’d been given.
“Yeah. Of course. Your address, your school, your blood type, your hormone levels-”
“My what?”
“I didn’t mean to see your face.” You blurted, eyes wide with guilt.
“I get it,” Peter had replied, and his expression softened. “If Mr Stark trusts you, then so do I.”
“Good.” You’d said. “That’ll make my job a lot easier.” But what you really wanted to say at the time was good, I want you to trust me.
That’s how it’d all started. Knowing his identity had crafted a surprising closeness between Peter Parker and you. Though you’d been tasked with protecting Spiderman’s reputation, Peter was the best part of the package.
At first it’d all just seemed like work-talk. Just polite conversation to pass the time. But then it had snowballed into knowing each other’s coffee preferences and sharing inside jokes. Peter would always take the seat beside you. You would find the other's eye in any room.
You enjoyed your time together and forgot it was work at all. It made the tasks Mr Stark and Pepper had set for you feel easy. Fun.
Until it really wasn't.
“You want me to do what?”
It was the first time you’d resisted any idea your boss had suggested. With wide eyes, you tore your gaze from Tony to Pepper, and pleaded with her in the silence.
Tony Stark’s presence was like gold dust and it had never become less intimidating, especially when he stepped beyond the screen into the same four walls, even now. Yet his request was ludicrous.
Tony Stark, on the other hand, thought himself somewhat of a matchmaker.
Through the tech alone, Tony had noted the connection between the two of you. Peter’s heart rate would accelerate when you laughed. His blood pressure would rise when you complimented him. He’d stare at you for so long that the sensors in the spider-suit would monitor your vitals.
Tony thought it was cute. Tony liked the kid - liked you. So he moved your rooms opposite each other. Left the cinema room door open so that you'd peek inside when he was in there. Send you on never-ending coffee runs at the same time that Peter would be talking with him so that you'd have to interrupt.
Weeks turned to months. You listened to all Peter’s rambling like it were the radio, you'd smile at his wacky ideas and watch films at the back of meetings. Somehow, you never tired of him, and it pulled on Tony's old, worn heartstrings.
You insisted on being professional, so regimented, even is your breath quickened whenever Peter spoke.
It was true that Tony had said no funny business when you started, and unbelievably, you’d stuck by it. Even if it were killing you. Half of him respected it; the other half wished you’d realise it was a ploy. The two of you were so sweet together. You were painfully well matched. And you, clearly, were besotted.
Tony's antics had not gone unnoticed. Pepper had picked up on it the first week, cornering him with a firm glare and a finger waved in his face. Don't hurt her, she'd muttered, she likes him. Pepper had caught the stolen glances across the room, the gasps and blushes, the hesitation of one when the other wasn’t looking. Even Happy had seen it, for Christ's sake. It’d become its own little joke - Tony and Pepper sharing a knowing look when Peter walked in, and they'd pretend to have a meeting just to fawn over the two of you.
So when Peter came to them one day with some concerns, they brainstormed a foolproof solution. It was a little mischievous and certainly blanketed by an ulterior motive, but a solution all the same.
To protect his friends, the two of you were going to convince the world that you were dating.
Tony’s request tipped the earth beneath you, and you gripped the tablet tucked under your arm for some form of grounding.
“I want you to date Spiderman.” He said. Arms crossed, like it were perfectly reasonable.
“What?”
“I want you…” He shrugged and looked at you over the rim of his glasses. “To date Spiderman.”
Your hands started to tremble. Behind the yellow lenses of his spectacles, Tony could see your heartbeat accelerate.
“For MJ.” Peter splutters through the suit.
Tony clicks his tongue and glances irritably to Pepper, who shook his head as if to say, I told you this was a bad idea, which only seems to spur him on.
You glance at the mask, and a deep pain churns through your stomach. You blink, slowly at first, then rapidly.
“I don’t-”
“Look. Peter came to me with a few concerns. Spiderman's getting a lot of traction. A lot of speculation online. People are searching everywhere for more about him. He’s worried those close to him will become targets.”
“We have things set up for that.” You say, and glance at the tablet and the extensive security measures Tony had already arranged, “We have drones, and-”
“Yes, but the general public are not a force to be reckoned with. They’re scrutinising everything we do. Every interaction. They want more. And Peter is scared that’ll put a target on May’s back, or his nerd friends, or-”
“MJ.” Peter says again.
You ignore the painful stab just above your ribs. Wrapped in your own little bubble here, you'd forgotten about his life outside these walls. You felt foolish and naive. You nodded.
“Right.” You say, and ignore the words that were floating spitefully around your head - you, girlfriend, MJ.
“The kid needs a girlfriend.” Tony flatlines
“That's not-” Pepper pinches the bridge of her nose, and shakes her head.
“For the media.” Tony insists.
“Right.” You pale.
“Which is your job.” Tony points out, “You are responsible for all the PR handling. That includes stuff like this. For the fans.”
“Yes.” You breathe, hands flexing at your sides. You avoid looking toward Peter, worried you’ll topple if you catch his eyes.
“Great.” Tony Stark claps his hands together. End of conversation. He glances at Pepper. They turn to leave the room.
“Oh, and be careful with that; that was expensive. You’ll crush it.” You look at the tablet you had gripped tightly in your hands, knuckles white. You gasp. Tuck it under your armpit and smile politely. When they vacate, you stare at your feet.
“It’s a little weird.” You hear Peter say, a chuckle rasping beneath the suit. You glance at him and try to giggle, but the sound gets stuck behind your teeth.
“I get it.” You say, and ignore the way your chest constricts.
You absolutely don't get it. It feels like you are being punished.
“You just want to keep her safe. That’s…” You look at the tablet, praying for an alert to pull you away. “That’s really sweet of you. She’s lucky to have you, Peter.”
“No.” He breathes, “I’m the lucky one.” You smile at him, but it doesn’t reach your eyes. You feel tears coming, so you rub your forehead as a distraction.
“It won’t be weird for us, right? It’ll be like normal. But in front of the cameras.” His words coil around your heart.
Like normal.
As if your normal looked like dating. As if all the stolen glances and whispered stories were nothing out of the ordinary. You stare at the floor and nod.
“Just a little closer than usual.”
It sounds so easy for him. Like every word you share doesn’t weigh heavily on your chest at night when you should be sleeping.
“Not weird.” You say, and try your best to sound convincing. “We’ll just have to put on a good show.”
“Exactly.” He sighs, and you don't catch the way his voice wavers while heat crawls up your face. “I was worried when Mr Stark suggested it. But he said you’d be cool. I just didn't want it to make our friendship weird. I like you.”
“I like you too, Peter.” It falls from your lips fast. It’s true, obviously. But not in the way you intend for him to take it.
You pull a ragged breath and remind yourself to be a professional.
This was a job. He was your priority. He was a client, not a friend or anything more. And it was clear he felt the same.
You smile at him, and turn towards the door. “Well,” you say apprehensively, “We best get started.”
Each minute tucked into his side was agony.
Each time he held your hand beneath flashing lights, each time he pecked your cheek through the mask and your eyes flickered shut. Each time he picked you up like you weighed nothing and placed you down for the good ol’ ‘hero shot.’
Every day you spent pretending to be Spiderman’s girlfriend worsened your desire to be Peter’s.
Your hands shook at your sides; a fragile smile had become a constant accessory on your lips. You didn’t flinch, didn't resist, did whatever was necessary to make it seem real so that Peter could keep MJ a secret. MJ was what mattered most to Peter, and as the time in your role beside him stretched on, you realised whatever mattered to Peter mattered to you.
“I can’t.” You hiss against the shell of his ear, suit brushing your lips as he wraps a strong arm around your waist. His touch sends bolts of electricity over your skin, and you try not to tremble in his hold.
“I’ve got you.” He says. “You’ll be fine. I won’t let anything happen to you. I’ve gotcha.” You nod, wrap your arms around his neck in front of the whooping crowd and hold your breath. He laughs a little. “Calm down.” He mumbles, and it hums through his chest straight into yours. “After this we’ll watch that movie you were telling me about. We'll make buckets of popcorn.” You nod against his shoulder, and ignore the heat of his body or the way he feels so right beneath you. “We just gotta get a shot for the papers. Mr Stark said so.”
Sensing your anxiety, Peter grips you tighter. It’s silent promise that you are safe with him, but it makes you feel even more unsteady. Your heart hammers shamefully against your ribs.
He can feel it. You know he can. You’d studied his abilities for months. You hide your face against his suit. Your shame feels overwhelming.
“Okay.”
“Jump.” He insists, and your body freezes.
“What?”
“Jump up. Wrap around me.”
“Pete…”
Was this some sick joke? Did he enjoy torturing you?
Heat crawls up your neck, burns your cheeks and tints your ears pink.
“I can hold you better for the swing.”
“Oh, god.” You close your eyes. Gritting your teeth, you jump. He grips your thigh with one large hand, the other shooting a web to the closest building.
You’d obeyed before you’d meant to.
“You ready?” You shake your head no, but mumble a yes. He mutters another promise of how he’ll never hurt you - but you remain silent.
He had absolutely no idea how much he hurt you on a daily basis.
Every touch destroyed you.
He’d been killing you for months. Silently, slowly, like some form of torture.
You’d never say anything - not when his only intention was to protect those he loved. It was honourable. Good. Kind.
So you just tried to bask in any moment when his attention was on you. Even if it were fake.
When he leapt from the roof, you squealed. Instinctively, his grip wrapped further around you. He held you so sweetly, arm wrapped around your spine and hip, tucking you beneath his chin like an embrace.
“You’re okay. Nothing’s gonna happen to you.” He whispered.
“I’m scared.” You confess, and whimper against his throat.
“There’s no need to be. I’ve got you.”
But you weren’t talking about the swing. You were scared because you were sure you’d stuffed your heart in his chest, while he was too busy searching for another.
Somewhere below, people cheer. They call out for Spiderman. They sound so happy.
You frown and hide in the crook of his neck until it’s over.
“I told you.” He says as he places you down, but he catches the way your smile flatters.
Peter had spent weeks beside you, in front of and behind the cameras. He’d learnt your habits, your tells and your frustrations. He knew you were strong-willed and passionate. He knew this job - at your age - meant everything to you. He knew you liked movies, and Lego, and read blogs in your spare time. He knew you’d put everyone else before yourself.
The expression on your face was unguarded and raw. It unbalanced him, and he followed you back in to the tower. He called after you, but you hurried away.
He wasn’t sure why, but it kept him up all night. The look on your face haunted him. He’d been so distracted by it that he didn’t notice you leave the tower for some fresh air. His senses didn’t pick up on you moving across the balcony, or the sound of you being snatched right from it.
The thing was: the plan worked perfectly. If the world believed Spiderman loved you, they’d never look elsewhere for weakness. They’d never turn to MJ or Ned, or May. Even if it always meant you were collateral. Even if it meant you’d become the target.
It was all fun and games until that night. Tony had thought himself clever. He had more than enough measures in place to protect everyone. But villains often struck when he got too cocky.
Peter awoke to Pepper’s voice blaring through the intercom, stressed and high-pitched. She was asking if he’d seen you, and the three of them scrambled throughout the tower with mounting apprehension.
Peter told himself the fear in his chest was normal. A colleague-related concern. He rationalised that it was a reasonable amount of worry, and not a heavy terror that squeezed his heart.
After all, you weren’t really his girlfriend. All the times you'd confessed a secret or held his hand. All the times he'd swung your legs over his, or searched for you in a crowded room. All the nights you'd spent looking out at the city, giggling. It wasn't real. Your affection for each other was utterly fictional.
So why did it feel so real now that you were in danger?
“Mr Stark?” Peter’s voice trembled as he called out within his suit. An unprecedented fear rumbled through his veins, and he suddenly missed the heat of your skin, your laugh, your voice.
What if you were hurt?
The mental image was like a knife in his gut, and Peter’s swings became sloppy and frantic as he scoured the city.
“This is my fault. We’ve gotta-“
“It’s alright, kid.” Tony’s voice replied through his headset. Layered with a guilt he usually refused to acknowledge, “We’ll find her. This one’s on me. I’m…I’m sorry.”
— FEATURING: PRISONER240!KANEKI X CHILDHOODFRIEND!READER
— WC: 2.1K
— THIS WAS AN ASK
Ever since Kaneki's battle with Arima, and his imprisonment at Cochlea, he seemed unstable. Infact, he was like a tornado, randomly screaming out and curling up into a ball. His entire mental state had shattered, as his body writhed in agony. In order to try stabilise him, Arima suggested giving him copies of Sen Takatsuki's books, since they both shared a deep fondness for literature, he also suggested having you deliver it to him, considering you had a close bond with Kaneki ever since he was young, which was true. Ever since you and Kaneki were 8, you had been close, he was a very shy boy, a nervous one.
His tattered clothes told you how cruel his family was, his bruises told you the abuse he endured, his constant flood of apologies told you the relentless bullying he was subjected to. As a child, he was a pitiful boy, yet you were a stark contrast, you were as lively as the sun, constantly beaming him and greeting him eagerly. Despite being 8, you could easily tell how starved Kaneki was, you saw how his mouth salivated at your rice balls, or the occasional western style hamburger from Big Girl. So, being the kind soul you were, you shared your meals with him, he even desperately tried to pay you back with a measly 100¥ but you told him to keep it.
What truly confused you was his presence as a ghoul, he so happily ate all the food you offered him, but if he were a ghoul, it should've tastes revolting to him, perhaps he ate it out of courtesy, too shy to turn you down. That wouldn't be surprising, considering how sickly he always looked, he probably felt guilty eating flesh, and decided to starve himself out of shame. You seemed truly surprised, considering not once had Kaneki shown any resemblance to a ghoul. You pushed such thoughts out of your head as you prepared to see him, you had been assigned to take care of him by Kishou Arima himself. Well, it was understandable, you two had a history, and your mutual friend Nagachika Hide wasn't apart of the CCG, so it was hard to grant him clearance, especially for such a volatile ghoul.
Your eyes raked over Kaneki's destitute body, it was drenched in tragedy, a horrifically pathetic sight. He seemed so exhausted, his hair was tussled and his body was doused in sweat, his skin was like a sickly candle wax, the CCG truly were cruel to ghouls, stripping them of their autonomy and keeping them locked up like zoo animals.
"You poor soul Kaneki." You mused, before deciding to confront him.
In your arms lay a few of his favourite works, such as Dear Kafka and The Hanged Mans MacGuffin. Hopefully, they would spark Kaneki's memory, honestly you were unsure that would provide useful, maybe it was better that Kaneki forgot everything, maybe it was better if he became a new, as a new person. Swiping your id card, you opened the cell, with a small platoon of doves outside, incase he turned violent. A lot of executive members of the CCG considered killing him, solely for his precarious psyche. They all view his case with disdain, opting for the pessimistic route of squashing him. But Arima had vetoed the decision, seeing promise in him.
The cell was awfully pathetic, to rot in here alone would be a fate worse then death, there was truly nothing in this cell, other then a stiff bed reinforced with Quinque steel, which the more you thought about it, the more you realised how cruel Cochlea was for a ghoul, as most of it consisted of Quinque composites, how horrific it must be to be locked in a cell surrounded by the remains of your kind.
Kaneki lay sprawled on the bed, his eyes harbouring a smouldering sense of fear, there was nobody in the room except you, and the CCG officers awaiting him to attack you. Perhaps the RC supressant was causing intense hallucinations, it did weaken a ghoul physically, but it's mental drawbacks had never been considered, again going to show how little the CCG cared about ghouls. Although you were technically only there to give him food and books, Arima privately requested you attempt to converse with him somewhat, so you wanted to atleast try, Kaneki was a close friend of yours, it would be inhumane to give up on him so quickly.
"Kaneki?" You called out softly, hoping not to unsettle him. "Ken Kaneki?" You tried again, hoping that would initiate a response.
After a few tries, you began to retreat, that was until Kaneki sat up, glancing at the assorted books you left for him, then at you.
"Y/N?" He called out weakly, as you looked back at him. Instead of a ravenous ghoul, you saw Ken Kaneki. The Kaneki who tripped over his feet upon first meeting you, The Kaneki who would hold your hand when it got dark, the Kaneki who would read books to you, knowing you struggled with it.
You turned back to look at him, he looked a lot more calmer, his eyes had some spark, a drastic change from his eyes which were always devoid of emotion. He looked nervous, and you were too, what is there to say when you meet your childhood friend again? Especially in such circumstances. His eyes closed softly, as if imagining something, before he looked at you again, his eyes awestruck, they loomed over you graciously; as if he were mesmerised by you.
Staggering over, he came closer, his body shivering like a leaf, as he muttered.
"So pretty..."
To that your face blushed a little, how were you meant to reply to that! You were unsure if recognised you or thought you just looked nice, there were so many possibilities for his sudden change in behaviour, but you really hoped he recognised you. It was a little selfish, but you wanted nothing more to hold him in your arms, and confess your feelings to him.
Although your friendship blurred the lines of being platonic and romantic, you wanted to finally confront how much you adored Kaneki. Even if he said no, it's good to finally admit it to him, as you hardly ever saw him, well, sure you'd see him more, but you could ask Arima to change who you're assigned to. Kaneki grabbed your hand, catching you a little off guard by his forwardness, his thumb caresssing it sweetly. He was so docile and gentle, even with his weakend kagune surging out his body. Finally, he planted a kiss onto it, a very short one, but it still was sickeningly sweet.
"Y/N." He mumbled again, his body calming upon saying your name.
However, this lack of privacy was very uncomfortable, so you signalled for the observing officers to leave, promising you'd call them if Kaneki's mental state declined. Upon their exit, Kaneki guided you to his bed, the two of you sat on it as you bathed in a comforting silence. Millions of memories spilled into Kaneki's mind, like ink upon paper, except his mind was colourful and radiant, recalling each fond childhood memory with you. Such as the time you taught him how to ride a book, holding the back to support him, then eventually letting go. But, just because you didn't let go didn't mean you were gone, you were right there, chasing behind him and cherring him on.
Or that time you invited him over when you were 13, and a raging thunderstorm had plagued the night. You were shaking and crying in fear, but he sat by you, assuring you it would be okay, covering your ears to shield them from the loud rumbles of lightning.
Or, his personal favourite, when for his 15th birthday, you waited hours on end at a Sen Takatsuki meet and greet, getting him the signed copy of his favourite book, along with a personalied blanket to go with it. He never forgot the way you fell asleep, wrapped around his blanket, as he read the book to you.
It had been no secret the two of you loved eachother, to put it simply. Your parents could see it so obviously, and looking back, so could the both of you. Back then, the two of you were a pair of shy awkward teenagers, but now you're both adults, reuniting. A plethora of emotions hung in the air: fear, happiness, shock, confusion but most importantly, love.
"Kaneki.." You muttered one final time, as he looked at you, his kind eyes awaiting your response. "I'm glad you're back, I'm glad you're with me." You continued, as he smiled, overjoyed by your words.
As you planned to continue your dramatic monologue, he kissed you, your lips pillowing his. Eyes closing in bliss, as you grabbed his shoulders to steady yourself, you were losing yourself. At first the kiss seemed innocent, but it took a significantly erotic turn, with his tongue infilitrating your wet cavern, causing you to mewl against his mouth. It took you by surprise, as you had never taken Kaneki as one to be so bold, perhaps he was riding the high of your unofficial confession.
However, you weren't complaining at all, as his hands trailed over each curve of your body hungrily, till they settled for your hips. He flicked up your skirt, causing you to raise an eyebrow.
Were you really low enough to do it in Cochlea, in a cell, with other officers nearby?
Yeah you were.
As the cold air hit your thighs, you whined at the sudden temperature change, Kaneki shh'd you softly, he didn't want you to get fired for fucking with a ghoul now did he?
"Kaneki.." You whimpered, that soft needy call sealing your fate. He started to peel off his clothes, tossing them carelessly onto the floor, hoping nobody was watching on the security camera. He then ripped off your clothes like a madman, as if one second with them would kill him, which to be fair it did.
His fingers linked onto your panties, the wet fabric being peeled from your soaking cunt, causing you to squeal.
"I'm sorry for being so crass, I just need you." He rasped, his voice laced with arousal, provoking your needy cunt to throb.
Before you knew it, Kanek stuck two fingers in, his digits bullying past and kissing your cervix. His dexterity surprisingly you greatly, left and right, up and down, his range was shocking. Arching your back, you moaned Kaneki's name like a filthy mantra. The two of your bodies veiled in sin and lust.
Desperatlely, you bucked your hips against his milky white fingers, they were unfairly slender, granting him access to toy with your gummy walls as your tight ring of muscle dripped all over him like a faulty dam.
Fuck, why was he so goddamn feral, was this the average libido of a ghoul, no wonder the CCG locked these fiends up, they would cause half of Japans population to be unable to walk. Whining softly, you pistoned yourself on his fingers, as they moved aroudn eratically, provoking immense arousal from your weeping pussy.
With soft whimpers bubbling in the back of your throat, Kaneki upped his pace, leaving you no choice but to cum raw on his fingers. Since when did this absolutely sweetheart learn such filthy tactics, you mewled again, panting out sounds you didn't even know you could make, your voice changing octaves every second, the only coherent word was Kaneki's name, as he continued to abuse your cunt, eventually finding your g spot, earning him a soft plea of "Oh oh oh!"s
After enduring such immense pleasure, you felt your orgasm approaching, prepared to baptise you and Kaneki in euphoria. Finally, you came on his fingers, sticky and hot, as he licked his fingers dry, his pink tongue swiveling from his finger tips to his knuckles, you had truly painted him with your slick.
Just as you were about to further the interaction, you got a sudden call from Kishou Arima, urging you to come here. Frowning, you pulled up your skirt, as slick dripped from your vagina, like a broken faucet. Before leaving, you ensured to kiss Kaneki goodbye, then finally, you left, much to your displeasure. Quickly, you fixed up your appearance, as you had that freshly fucked out look etched all over your complexion, and you really didn't want your superior to see you post-orgasm. So you rapidly sorted yourself out, managing to make yourself look somewhat professional.
Arima stood there; his eyebrow raised relatively annoyed as he muttered.
"If you two plan to fuck, atleast keep it down, other ghouls could hear it and they got riled up."

When the universe is too much, the sounds are too loud, the weight on your shoulder threatens to break you, there is one place that is safe, queit, warm. The nest. Your nest. The cathedral of shadows and softness. You had built it in the lowest cargo bay, the one no one used, where you could be alone with your weight and your thoughts.
The creature had found you three weeks ago, curled in a corner, your breath coming in short, ragged bursts, the pain pressing down on your sternum until you could not remember what it felt like to be light. You had expected death. You had almost welcomed it. Instead, the xenomorph had clicked at you - a soft sound, questioning, like a curious bird, its massive, elongated head had tilted, the smooth, black carapace gleaming dully in the emergency lighting. You felt its attention like a physical touch - a slow, scanning warmth that seemed to pass through you, reading the tension in your muscles, the ache in your bones, the storm behind your ribs. You had flinched when it moved closer, its powerful limbs silent on the deck plates. But it did not strike. Did not hiss. Did not bare that gleaming second set of jaws. It had simply... settled. A great, sinuous coil of alien flesh and warmth, curling around you like a serpent made of starlight and shadow. The heat from its body was immediate, shocking - a dry, living furnace that chased the cold from your marrow. Its skin was smoother than you had imagined, not slimy or chitinous, but warm like sun-baked stone, with a subtle, almost imperceptible grain that seemed to shift under your trembling fingers.
And the sound.
A low, resonant purr began deep in its chest, or where you imagined its chest to be. It was not a sound that traveled through the air so much as it traveled through your bones, a vibration that started at your feet and climbed your spine, loosening knots you hadn't known you were holding. It was the sound of a thousand idling engines or of a great, sleeping beast. The xenomorph had pulled you closer with a gentle, looping curl of its tail, the tip of that terrible weapon resting not at your throat, but across your back, a warm, living blanket. It had clicked again, softer this time, a series of staccato notes that somehow conveyed patience.
Now, you cannot imagine sleeping anywhere else. The nest has grown. You have dragged blankets and pillows from your quarters, old uniforms that still hold the faintest ghost of your scent. The creature, your friend - though the word feels too small, too domestic - has added its own contributions. Shreds of insulation foam, which it arranges with fastidious care. A few dented coolant canisters, which it rolls into place like territorial markers. The bones of something small and unfortunate, though those are kept at the edges, a boundary you do not cross.
The scent of the nest is complex. Underneath the faint, metallic tang of the cargo bay and the softer, organic smell of your own bedding, there is them. It is not unpleasant. It is warm and slightly musky, like the fur of a great cat after sunning itself, with an undertone of something electric, like the air before a thunderstorm. It clings to your clothes, your hair, your skin, and you have stopped trying to wash it away. It a sign of belonging now.
Tonight you come to the nest wordless, your movements heavy. The creature senses you before you reach the hatch, its head lifting from where it had been resting on its forelimbs. That invisible attention sweeps over you again, reading your limp posture, the dull glaze of your eyes, the way your hands hang useless at your sides. It clicks. Three times. A worried sound. You simply collapse into the center of the nest, face down, too exhausted even to arrange yourself properly.
Silence.
Then, the rustle of its body as it unfolds, moving with that terrifying, beautiful grace. It circles you once, twice, as if checking for injury, its warm leather skin brushing against your outstretched legs. Then, it settles around you. Its body curls in a great, protective spiral, enclosing you in a living cage of warmth and shadow. One massive limb drapes over your back, heavy but not crushing, the weight a grounding pressure that pushes the air from your lungs in a slow, releasing sigh. Its tail loops around your ankles, completing the circle.
You are surrounded. You are held.
And the purr starts.
It takes a moment to build, that deep, resonant thrum that seems to bypass your ears entirely and resonate directly in your chest cavity. It is not a steady sound, but rather a living lullaby, tuned precisely to your pain, and it is singing you back to yourself. You turn your face into alien’s side, and the warmth there is immense. Your nose presses against the surface and you breathe in deep. The musk. The ozone. The life of it, so different from the sterile, recycled air of the ship's corridors. It smells like a place where things are allowed to exist without purpose. Without duty. Your hand, moving of its own accord, reaches out and rests flat against its flank. The texture is strange - smooth like polished stone, but with a subtle give, a living warmth that pulses with a slow, outwordly heartbeat. The purr deepens, and the creature makes a new sound—a soft, chittering keen, so quiet it is almost lost beneath the vibration. You have come to recognize this sound. It is approval. Contentment.
You are safe, it seems to say. You are wanted. You are home.
Tears slip from the corners of your closed eyes, but they are not the sharp, jagged tears of before. These are warm and slow, a gentle release, like water finding its level. The creature's tail tightens fractionally around your ankles, a squeeze of acknowledgment, and its great head lowers, the blunt curve of its jaw coming to rest against the crown of your head. The weight is immense. Perfect.
Ken Kaneki, who hesitated the first time you guys had sex to show you his eyes, fearing you'd find them hideous and run from him after taking off his blindfold.
Ken Kaneki, who was so surprised that first time to be told: “It's a part of you, and I don't think you're ugly.”
Ken Kaneki, who was initially terrified of having sex with you. Not just because he was worried about whether his performance would satisfy you, but because he was also worried about... well, killing you in the act at worst, or accidentally hurting you at best.
Ken Kaneki, who couldn't believe how good it felt the first time. He almost broke into tears when he first sank into you, staying completely still for a few seconds just to feel both of you pulsing in sync, your warm, tight walls pulling him in as deep as he could go.
Ken Kaneki, whose kagune always, always gets drawn out whenever he gets physically intimate with you. Sometimes very early on while just making out, other times long into the sex when he's about to cum.
Ken Kaneki, who was initially annoyed by your fascination with his Rinkaku kagune, feeling a little jealous that you seemed to pay it more attention than him—well, at least that was before he discovered that they could become sensitive.
Ken Kaneki, whose kagune you deliberately decided to train, regularly feeding their sensitivity with your bare touch until they memorized it and eagerly reacted to the slightest brush, immediately diving in for more.
Ken Kaneki, who both hates and loves how sensitive his kagune has become to your touch.
Ken Kaneki, who always regrets accepting your casual requests to see them. Every time, it starts with him sitting perfectly still while you visually check out the four tentacles, until you start touching them, slowly exploring to your heart's content from behind him. The soft skin of your palm gliding up and down so slowly he can trace every line on your hands, the tips of your fingers subtly brushing here and there, your hand wrapping over the ends and squeezing lightly.
He swears he's not a freak, and yet every time he gets a hard, aching boner that only makes his kagune even more sensitive. He tries his best to hide his erection and growing arousal, but the more you toy with him, the stronger the ache becomes between his legs and the more his hunger grows. Not the ghoul hunger to eat, but a greedy, lustful type of hunger that forces him to eventually pin you down with the very kagune you're so fascinated with, glaring down at you through his heavy breathing.
You did it on purpose—Touching him like that—You always do it on purpose, and it always ends up with the two of you fucking each other.
Ken Kaneki, who sometimes breaks into tears when fucking you from how overstimulated he gets. Whether it's his cock pulsing with red blood and Rc cells within your tight, stuffed walls, the warmth of your chest pressed against his, or the texture of your skin against his kagune restlessly brushing and wrapping around you—sometimes it all just gets to be too much for him. A few drops slip out of his mismatched eyes, tracking all the way down his cheeks until you brush them away, or he just lets them drop onto your back, depending on the position you're both in.
Ken Kaneki, whose favorite thing to do when making out is kissing you. His tongue lightly explores your mouth, firmly intertwining with yours in a way that's almost playful. His kisses start light and soft, until he gets more excited and his actions follow suit. Those light, warm kisses transform into something heavier, his tongue becoming more demanding against yours as his lips nibble firmly on yours, drawing those soft moans out of you and successfully etching a mirrored hunger in your eyes.
Ken Kaneki, who bites whenever he gets feral. It's rare, but it happens. His teeth clamp onto the skin around your neck and shoulders—not enough to draw blood, but enough to leave angry red marks that will last for days. A kagune wraps around your ankle or thigh, spreading your legs further apart as he fervently drills himself into you, going faster and deeper with each thrust, intent on driving you into a mind-numbing orgasm.
Ken Kaneki, who always makes sure you cum first before he lets himself cum. No matter how many rounds you've gone or how tired he might be, his release entirely depends on yours.
Ken Kaneki, who is secretly obsessed with the way your eyes roll back in sinful bliss whenever you're near your climax. It's a look he has perfectly memorized and preserved each time, drawing it up in his imagination whenever he jerks himself off to the thought of you.
Ken Kaneki, who always pulls you close, hugging you tightly with both his arms and his kagune whenever you're done. Pulling your back tight against his chest, he nestles his face against the back of your neck, taking in your scent and listening to your steady heartbeat until you both fall asleep.

With ragged breath and aching muscles, you ran as far as you could. Adrenaline flowing in your veins, hearing him right on your tail. You slammed against the back door, you turned the doorknob only for it to seem to be jammed. Your heart hammered into your ribcage as his larger form shadows yours. The glow of his costume’s eyes stares you down. “Stay away…”
William says your name in an artificially sweet voice. “No! Stay away!!” He huffs at your defiance. “My darling..!” William stalked slowly as he readied his blade, you let out a frightful sound. Kicking the door repeatedly. “Light of my life, I wouldn’t dare lay a finger on you…” Refusing to believe his lies you put your whole body into each kick.
Finally, the door busted open. You bolted out, Afton soon chased after you as running from the parking lot and into the forest. “Shit!!” You hopped over a log and weaved through the trees trying to get him off your trail. William wasn’t letting up and felt something grab your leg, falling into the muddy ground. You let out a scream, immediately trying to get his large hand off your ankle. “You and I are going home. Whether you like it or not dear!” His words make your blood run cold. “NO!”
Before William can drag you to wherever he plans to keep you. Something spindly grabbed him. “What the—?!” A chance presents itself as you kick him square in the nose. Scurrying away and picking yourself up to run.
William’s screams and threats grow more distant as you run further away from him. You cried tears of relief, running faster beyond your limits upon seeing a clearing in the forest. “OH GOD!! HELP ME PLEASE!!” The people surrounding the campfire turned their heads to see you scared out of your wits, pleading for help. “Woah! Hey, what's going on??” A woman with short brown hair, a blue sleeveless top gets up and checks you for injuries.
You blubber out tearfully, pointing to the woods beyond and try explaining what you had witnessed the past five hours. “Hey it’s okay… You’re safe…” She gently patted your back and guided you to sit down on a log of wood.
A man with nicely kept brown hair looked at you with concern. “Sooo… Mind telling us what happened and who you are?” You shivered and muttered your name as best as you could, in complete shock of everything. The missing kids, the animatronics and reveal of William Afton being alive was a complete whirlwind. It makes your head spin.
There’s still some questions unanswered, especially personal ones. You had hoped Mike, Abby and Vanessa were okay. Attempting to rationalize what you’d just experienced. Everything you thought up as a reply sounded more unhinged than the last. Leaving you silent for a small bit of time.
“Ex Fiancé.” Stating flatly, cozying up to the flames to ward off the frost. “Yikes… Uhh I’m Steve Harrington by the way.” You looked at Steve and nodded. “Good to meet you Steve, wish I could’ve met you guys under better circumstances.” You stare at the ring on your finger; it was once caked with dirt and grime.
It was polished and glimmered as if you weren’t running for your life, clawing your way to survive another day. “How come my clothes are..?” A girl with a turtleneck sweater explained it being The Entity’s doing. “My head feels like it’s going to split open…”
“Anyways, mind introducing yourselves?” After a lengthy introduction to all the others, they fill you in on your current situation. You’re now a survivor, forced to participate in a vicious game of cat and mouse. “Great… Traded one serial killer who wears a rabbit suit for a slew of other killers from different worlds and timelines? Just my luck…”
Jill laughed and spoke. “Yeah, what are the odds?” With your heartbeat at a normal pace, feeling a little more at ease. You sighed and gave an introduction of your own.
“Well I’m or was a journalist, assigned to investigate this old pizzeria joint. As you can imagine my findings were… Quite revealing and now I’m here…” You scratched your neck nervously, your mind replaying how William towered over Mike’s beaten body. He was a force to be reckoned with.
Constantly pulling the strings at every turn, it sickened you. To know how he’s gotten away with so much for so long. Playing you and many others like puppets. If you hadn’t found out then, you didn’t want to wonder about any other possible outcomes. Kicking a rock as it disappears into the forest. To know that the man who made you feel so desirable can be capable of murder. It made you feel a whirlwind of emotions.
‘ I know it comes with the job, there’s always the possibility that someone close could be lying. Trying to hide something that could end someone’s life… But still, my ex-fiancé is the infamous William Afton… He was never found, naturally one would assume he’s dead. ‘ He saw you in your most vulnerable moments. That fact alone made you want to puke.
Pinching your nose bridge, you hear someone clear their throat. “At least I won’t see his face again.” Letting out a yawn, you were escorted to your room, falling asleep as soon as you hit the springy mattress.

William’s POV
I clawed to try and reach for them, yet they escaped me and I was pulled into an abyss. Opening my eyes to see a dilapidated campsite, crows were prominent. I was greeted to see some familiar looking faces that seemed fictitious, and some are not so familiar. “Well look what the Entity dragged in.” A small doll with a raspy voice joked.
They all surround me as if I was a frog up for experimentation. I hated this feeling and now that my plan has gone awry, I need to adapt. I tossed a tight smile towards the doll. “Big talk for someone not even half my size.”
“You fucker!” I barely acknowledged him, wanting to find them. “Anyways got a clue as to why I’m here? I just wanna find my beloved spouse and make our merry way back home.” They chatter amongst themselves and soon a monstrously tall man with wavy white hair approaches me. He introduces himself and the others, along with filling me in on my new role. “Will I see them again..?”
‘ After all it’d be a shame to let all of my work go to waste just like that. ‘ My mind wandered, just the mere thought of it gnawed at me. “It seems likely, though you’ll have to wait until the trials begin.” Dracula hypothesized, I sighed and decided to occupy myself for the time being. Getting ready for my next performance in this realm.
“Things are about to get pretty interesting around here…” Frank muttered; a grin can be heard in his voice.

Your POV
You heard a familiar car horn, lowering the heat on the stove. William exits his faded yellow car with a confident grin on his face. “Honey, I’m home~!” You laughed at his chipper demeanor. “Welcome home, Steve. How was work today?” He happily makes his way to you; arms wrapped around your waist. His chin sitting on your shoulder, eyes staring intently at your movements. “Smells good…” You felt your heart race. “The food? Or..?”
“Both.” You shivered feeling the rough texture of his beard on your neck. “Steve..! That tickles!” He laughed, peppering kisses on your neck and cheek. ‘ Why am I dreaming of the past..? Do I miss him..? Shit no, but… But… ‘ Before your brain could register, you asked. “Do you really love me?” His soft blue eyes widened, lifting his head to see you gripping the handle on the saucepan. “My dear… Of course I do, I wouldn’t have proposed had I not loved you.” Stating in a matter-of-fact way, the ring glimmers in the light.
Taunting you, the mere mention of the day he’d proposed to you felt like a stain to your pride. ‘ Was it all just a lie..? Can I handle the truth of that question? Will he even be honest? ‘ You hated missing him or at least this mask he’d put on for you. Admitting to feeling this way felt like acidic defeat. Wanting to hide it away rather than express your ugly and vulnerable feelings.
“Feeling insecure again, my dear?” He asked in a condescendingly kind voice. It bubbles your anger; how can he muster up such faux affection. “I… No! I… Gah! God… FUCKING DAMMIT!!” Unable to think you toss the pan to the wall. The food splatters onto the floor.
“How did I allow myself to fall for a man like you..?” You fall to your knees as he crouches next to you. Chest tightens as your tears stream down. “I’ll ask again. Do you love me? Or was I just a loose end you needed wrapped up?” He laughs. As if your mental breakdown was merely a temper tantrum. ‘ Stop… Stop smiling at me like that..! STOP! ‘ Awaiting his response was dread inducing, the possible outcome regardless ate away at your sanity.
“Love is a mysterious force, but it brought us together…” His hand gently rubs your back in circles. “It drives us to do things that are out of our character…” The room darkens as you feel the walls closing in, you two are the only ones in this small void. You catch a glimpse of William’s expression. He smiles at you lovingly, but his eyes scream something different. It reeked of obsession. “Elaborate.” His smile grows. As other rabbit-like figures surround you. “I’m sure you’ll figure it out my darling dear!”
‧˚₊꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
You woke up in a cold sweat. Trying to get a bearing on your heart rate. Curling up, hugging your knees to your chest. “It’s just a dream… It’s just a dream… Just a dream… An awful dream…” You mumbled trying to snatch back your sanity.
A creak cuts through the silence. “Hey are you okay..?” Kate’s worried face peaks from the door of your room. “Kate, right..? What’s up..?”
“Uh yeah, man you’ve got a good memory. Guess that’s expected given your occupation. Ah I’m getting distracted…” You motioned her to come in. She enters with enthusiasm and says. “It’s now breakfast time! Gotta get some fuel before we head out for the first match of the day.”
“I see… Yeah I’ll be down there, let me just get ready.” Kate nods firmly. “Of course!” With that she takes her leave and leaves you with your thoughts. Getting up to freshen up for the literal bloodbath you're about to partake in, washing your face. Staring at your reflection, you looked a little better. Without another word you left to get some food.
‧˚₊꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
Heading to the campsite with three teammates. Rebecca, Nancy and Leon. From what you remember it seems like the team’s got a well-rounded roster. “Alright ready to go?” You nod in understanding. “Anything else I need to know before we go?”
Leon hands you a walkie talkie. “Whatever happens, we keep each other in the loop.” You’ve been told about the rules and how death isn’t permanent. It was weird to say the least how all of this operates. “‘Kay then, I’ll do my best not to slow you down and if things get messy just remember your goal.” The fog consumes you and your teammates. The party has now begun.
‧˚₊꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
You wake up in a familiar location, a static noise erupts from your walkie talkie. “Hey, where are you guys?” Nancy and Leon quickly report their location to Rebecca. “I’m in the Parts and Service room…” You felt like you were being watched. It didn't help that there’s animatronic heads and pieces scattered around.
Though some parts of the room had chunks of gore and bones added into the mix, it felt like walking into a twisted funhouse mirror of what you once knew. “Does that mean..? No it can’t be… Right?” Asking yourself as you felt their dead eyes stare at you. ‘ Don’t look at them… Just find the generator and things will be smooth sailing from here… ‘
After wandering around for a little bit, you found a generator in the arcade room. Crouching down you began working on fixing it. The whirring of the engine soothes your racing mind and keeps the dread inducing thoughts at bay. The generator starts running better as you hear a familiar voice. “And there… We… Go!” A satisfying click can be heard as the engine purrs without any hiccups.
Hearing footsteps approach you, tensing up and cautiously looking from behind the generator. A familiar and welcoming face greets you.
“Oh! It’s you Rebecca.” She offers you a kind smile as you both head off to find the next generator. “How are you adjusting so far?” Questioningly looking at her, you asked. “Uhh.. Clarify, please?” Rebecca soon does so. “Just in general.” You hummed as you both hurried to find the next generator. “I guess I’m still adjusting, this game and world is so… Surreal…”
“Is this familiar to you?” With a nod, you elaborate. “Yeah, this is the place I was sent to investigate, being back here again feels so…” The words were swarming your thoughts, Rebecca pipes up. “Like walking back into hell?” You hummed. “Yeah, like that…”
Feeling a gaze burns into the back of your head, it fills you with dread. “Rebecca…” You stopped and soon felt his presence. “RUN!” An axe flew in her direction, without thinking you shielded her. The blade lodges itself painfully in your left shoulder. You let out a blood curdling scream, alerting the other survivors in the area, hearing Rebecca call your name. “Go! I’ll hold them off! Get the rest of those generators running!” With clear directions, Rebecca splits off from you, eyes widened in shock.
“Well, well, well… If it isn't my beloved darling.” He towers over you, blood runs cold as his eyes piercing through your form. “It can’t be…” William laughs cruelly. “Aww why the long face? Thought you’d be happy to see me.” Stalking closer towards you, causing you to step back. “No! I just... I thought–How??” Confused at his sudden appearance, you were positive he might’ve been killed by whatever spider-like creature took him. “Ah see that’s where you’re wrong, it’s a long story. But rest assured wherever you are, I won’t be far behind!” You sneered at him. “Was that supposed to make me swoon or hurl…”
“Oh you wound me so darling!” William placed a hand over where his heart should be. “After all I’ve done for you… You’re so cold to me…” William fakes his tears; the wolf’s disguise was long since torn off. “Yet I’ve planned on giving you so much more… You’re very much deserving of my love and spoils even after your little outburst.” Trying to escape you get pulled back into William’s arms. “Ah, ah, ah~! Come here dear! There’s so much left to talk about, so come let’s have a chat!”
Swiftly stabbing you, effectively immobilizing you, he hauls you onto his shoulder. Pathetically bashing your fists against the suit. Trying to get the spring locks to immobilize him. His steps halt as his eyes trail to see something out of your view. “Oh, it seems like we have an audience, but too bad for them. This is a private show!” Turning your head to see a familiar door with a camera fixed atop of it. An axe gets thrown at it, effectively disabling it off.
“Now then where were we? Ah yes, I’m sure you’ve got lots of questions my dear!” William cheerfully says as a bloodied hook comes into view. “No… No no no! OH GOD NO!” Struggling harder, his crushing grip tightened. “Shhh it’s okay my dear you’ll only feel a pinch.”
Before William could skewer you onto the hook, he suddenly drops you. Letting out a painful groan. “Dammit!” You hear Nancy call your name. “C’mon let’s go!” You hurriedly follow her, and she shoves you inside one of the doors. “Go find Rebecca or Leon. They’ll heal you.” You choose a random location and are soon inside the office. Coming out the other side, you’re greeted to the main stage with Freddy, Chica and Bonnie.
A generator sits in the middle of the room, its engine softly running. “Guess it was Nancy’s work…” A static coming from your walkie talkie interrupts your thoughts. “Oh, thank god you’re still alive!” Leon exclaims; you nodded. “Pretty much, I owe it to Nancy.” Quickly you checked the cameras. “Leon, where are you?” Leon clarified his location, and you see William through the screen, heading to Leon’s location. “Get out of there! He’s coming!” Looking behind him, hurriedly leaves as an axe was thrown next to the generator he was working on.
You were notified that everyone was able to see Afton’s location and you added. “Use the cameras sparingly, otherwise William will know where to look.” Signing off you got to work on the generator Nancy was previously on.
‧˚₊꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
The ground shakes as glowing cracks appear beneath you. “Shit..! Gotta find an exit…” Hoping to not encounter your persistent ex-fiancé for the fifth maybe seventh time during this entire match. He took sadistic joy in scaring you, constantly popping up at the most inconvenient times. The majority of the match was you containing him, it was massively in your teammates favor. As they were able to get a majority of the generators done.
Exiting the pizzeria and into a familiar forest clearing, the bell rings ominously. Sending a shiver throughout your nervous system. The benefit of him chasing you is that after each encounter, you learned more about his move set and other patterns he unconsciously did. A melodious hum causes you to crouch down, the halt of his footsteps freezes your blood. Your heart thumping loudly inside your ribcage.
He calls out your name in a sickly-sweet voice, one that had tormented you for hours on end. “Oh, honey bunny! Come on out, I won’t hurt you… I’m giving you a way out…” Sweat beads down your face along with your palms clamming up.
‘ Don’t breathe, don’t breathe, don’t breathe don’t— ‘ A hand clasps over your mouth, someone shushes you. “C’mon I know where the exit is…” Whispered Leon as he helped you sneak past William’s line of sight. Along with avoiding the cameras, to make sure he didn’t have an opportunity to catch you both escaping. You let out a laugh at a thought you had, Leon looks at you with confusion. Your sudden spurt of laughter in such a tense situation had him a bit curious.
Getting a glance at his lost expression. “Oh, sorry it’s just, back before I came here. Freddy and his friends would hide from the cameras; it was like being in their shoes for a second there.” The exit was in view, and you offered to pull the lever. “Freddy?” He asked, you soon clarified on who was who. “Wait, they're alive??” said Leon in disbelief. “It’s a bit complicated and gruesome, but yeah, they can, back where I’m from. Though it seems like they’re inanimate as they should be. It’s weird to see them just not move…”
“Looks like we all have odd encounters.” You nodded in agreement to his statement. “It’s weird to say the least, it all pretty much started when I met William under a different name.” Someone runs over to you and Leon, Rebecca hunches over taking a gulp or two of air. “Thank God you two are okay! William really doesn’t let up…” You laughed and joked. “Tell me about it, he’s always been the persistent type. Once his mind is set on a goal, he won’t rest.”
‘ William really reminds me of an animal sometimes and now more than ever. He’s needlessly ruthless and violent, that brutality though is uniquely human… Only a man like him is that pointlessly cruel, though he’s deadly smart… ‘ You looked and checked who’s missing from the group. “Where’s Nancy?”
A scream cuts through the air; you attempt to contact her. Only to be met with a voice, you dreaded hearing. “Hi honey! Don’t mind me, I'm just cleaning up the mess.” Your grip tightens around the walkie talkie. Shutting it off, you went to save Nancy. A hand grips your wrist pulling you back. “No, we have to go! We’re running out of time.” Rebecca said firmly as the bells rang again, the ground shakes violently. More cracks appear beneath you and your surviving teammates; an axe hits you deadly close near your feet.
“Shit! Let’s go!” You and your teammates book it as William attempts to stop you, by trying to down you. The blade of his knife sliced your arm, causing you to cry out in pain. Running faster as your life depended on it. Finally catching up with the rest of your teammates, Nancy included. They look at you with worry. “Hold on, let's patch you up…” Rebecca suggested as the team stopped in their tracks. “But—!”
“Look we’re pretty far from him; it’s not a big issue.” Nancy reassured you, with a defeated sigh. “Alright, I’ll take your word then.” Rebecca swiftly gets to work, whipping out several items from the med kit during the trial. “Oh, he really got you… This will require some stitches.” You bite your lip, though you rationalized it in your head.
‘ Better than getting put on a hook… ‘ The crows caws, and the ambience puts you at ease as Rebecca sews the cut shut. Wrapping the gauze tight enough to stay, but just loose enough to not cut off circulation. “Need any help getting back?” Shaking your head. “It’s okay, I’m fine now. I’m able to keep up with you guys the rest of the way.”
As you embarked off with your team, unaware that William stood and watched you in the distance. His smile widens with sickened glee, knowing you have a mark made by him. Reassured in the fact that in a twisted way, you two won’t ever be apart. For a long, long time. He departs and eagerly plans his next performance with you.
So yeah uhm this is just a random drabble I came up with. I'm obsessed with the game called battle cats and I pulled the legend rare and I love him so much, he helps me out a lot so i just wanted to use my free will and randomly write a fanfic about Dawnbringer Izanagi.😭😭
“Please give me something good, please, please…!” you whispered, clutching your phone tightly. “I saved up for so long!!”
Your finger hovered over the summon button for a second before you squeezed your eyes shut and tapped it.
The summon animation flashed across your screen.
Weeks.
No, months of saving.
Skipping banners.
Resisting impulse pulls.
Grinding endlessly while your cat army got demolished by stages that seemed specifically designed to ruin your life. You loved your cats. You really did but some days commanding them felt impossible. Your teams weren't strong enough. Your strategies weren't working and every time you got close to victory, some new enemy appeared and flattened your entire army.
So for once-
Just once-
You wanted a miracle.
The screen flashed.
Rare.
Super Rare.
Uber Rare-
Your eyes widened. The animation changed. A brilliant golden light burst across the display.
"No way."
You leaned closer and stared at your screen. "No freaking way."
Your jaw dropped.
"Legend Rare…?" Indeed a Legend Rare.
“LEGEND RARE?!”
For a moment, your brain completely stopped working.
“There is absolutely no way. There is NO WAY!”
Then-
"OH MY GOD, I GOT A LEGEND RARE?!" Slowly starting to realize what just happened. You nearly threw your phone across the room.
Your hands were shaking.
Your heart was racing.
You'd seen people pull Legend Rares online.
You'd watched videos.
You knew how absurdly rare they were.
But actually getting one?
YOU? Of all the People, you finally got a Legend Rare.
The brilliant light on the screen grew brighter and brighter until it spilled beyond the display itself.
“What the-?”
And brighter.
And brighter.
"...Wait."
A gust of wind swept through your room.
White clouds swirled across the floor and began to swirl around your feet.
Glowing wisps drifted through the air.
And then he appeared.
Floating gracefully above the clouds, dressed in elegant white robes, a divine spear resting at his side. A soft wind filled the room. His icy blue eyes met yours. He had eyes like the color of a clear winter sky.
You forgot how to breathe.
"What is happening?" You whisper to yourself unable to process what exactly is happening around you. Maybe you were just dreaming, yep that must be it. Too good to be true.
You stared.
He stared back.
You stared harder. At this point it felt like a contest between you two until he broke the silence with his calm voice.
“Ah.” The figure placed a hand over his chest and bowed his head gracefully.
"My deepest gratitude for your summons." The beautiful man floating in your bedroom said.
Your brain completely stopped functioning. "...Huh?" Was the only thing you could manage to get out. Because what do you mean a battle cat unit was standing in your bedroom.
He straightened, offering a gentle smile.
"I am Dawnbringer Izanagi but please just call me Izanagi."
His voice was calm and elegant.
Every word sounded carefully chosen.
Refined. Prince-like. Like someone from an ancient story.
"I have answered your call. From this moment onward, I shall devote my strength to your cause.”
You looked at him.
Then at your phone.
Then back at him.
Then back at your phone.
Then back at him again.
A LEGEND RARE WAS STANDING IN YOUR ROOM. A very attractive Legend Rare. Not gonna lie but cough anyway.
A very attractive Legend Rare who was currently looking at you like you were the most important person in the world.
"...You're real. What the…YOU ARE REAL?!"
"If my lady wishes, I may provide confirmation."
You made a very strange choking noise. He confused you even more. “So uhm… you choose…me?” You stared at him “I…”
You pointed at yourself. “Me?”
“Indeed.” Izanagi inclined his head. “Among countless possibilities, I chose you.” he gave you a sweet chuckle at your reaction.
Your heart immediately attempted to launch itself into orbit. “Y-You chose me?”
“Of course.” His expression softened. “A worthy summoner is not measured by fortune alone, but by determination.”
You remembered the months of saving Cat Food. The skipped banners. The self-control. If you even can call self-control. The suffering you went through and how badly this game gave you Cat food.
“I observed your efforts.” He gave a small nod. “And found them admirable.”
Your face became approximately the temperature of the sun. “O-Oh.”
“Furthermore,” he continued politely, “your first words upon summoning were quite charming.”
You wanted the floor to swallow you whole.
“Please give me something good, please, please…” he repeated gently.
“STOP.”
“I saved up for so long.”
“PLEASE STOP.”
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. The smile somehow made him even prettier. This was unfair. Completely unfair.
You buried your face in your hands. “I can't believe this is happening.” The embarrassment was too much to handle.
“It is fine for you my lady, I am pleased if I may confess.”
"P-Pleased?" You choked out. What in the world does he mean with pleased.
"Indeed." He placed a hand over his chest once again.
"Of all the summoners who might have called upon me… The countless battles. The hardships you endured while leading your army."
"..."
"The determination with which you continued despite repeated setbacks."
You wanted to crawl under a rock because somehow that was worse.
He knew. He knew about every embarrassing defeat. Every failed strategy. Every time you'd yelled at your phone because your cats got obliterated.
"I wasn't exactly doing a great job..." You whispered knowing to well that you are kinda stuck with your army of cats. Izanagi looked genuinely surprised. "You united countless warriors beneath your banner."
A pause.
"Even now, they place their trust in you. For you as their leader."
The words caught you off guard. You'd never really thought about it that way. To you, they were just game units. Cats. Silly little weirdos that wanted to take over the world.
But...
You had been leading them all this time.
Izanagi stepped closer. The clouds around him drifted gently across the floor. "You sought strength not for yourself." His voice was warm.
"You wished for the sake of those who fight beside you."
Your chest tightened. "...I just wanted to help them win."
A smile appeared on his face. A small one but somehow it made your heart race even faster.
"A noble wish." He lifted his spear. Golden light shimmered around its blade. Then he offered you a graceful bow.
"Therefore, my lady..."
His gaze never left yours.
"Allow me to lend you my strength."
You could barely think.
A Legend Rare. A Literal Legend Rare. The strongest unit you'd ever summoned.
Standing right in front of you. Offering to help. Offering to fight by your side and somehow being ridiculously handsome while doing it. This must definitely be a dream. Izanagi straightened and extended a hand toward you. "Come."
"Huh?"
His smile widened slightly. "Let us achieve victory together."
The distant sound of enthusiastic cat meowing echoed from somewhere outside. Izanagi glanced toward the window.
Then back at you.
"For the cats."
You laughed. "For the cats?"
"Indeed." His expression remained perfectly serious. "We shall win the battle for the cats."
A brief pause. "With the cats." Another pause. "And, if necessary..." For the first time, amusement flickered in his eyes. "...despite the cats."
You snorted so hard it hurt. And somehow, standing there with your hand in his, looking at the divine prince who had answered your desperate wish...
