moraytea:
“Floyd.”
The relief was short-lived, quickly to be replaced a fond chuckle as he pressed a gloved hand to his mouth. Still, it was a profound relief, loneliness having washed over him like a tide as this place had settled. One they was no more fighting, no more escapes attempts, and no more magic, he was simply left with himself.
And without Azul or Floyd, he, himself, and him was a very solitary notion. He would much rather be babysitting.
“Recently there was a battle that granted us the use of our powers, but after our loss they have been restricted.” A fond smile crept across the mask that he maintained.
“It seems our captors are the Stars, but I do not know where they are or where they are based. Particularly as things have quieted for now.” Looking at the city around them for the moment, he let out another brief chuckle.
“However, there are plenty of ways for us to pass the time. Plenty of trouble and opportunity, in a place like this. Even with my limited magic, plus your strength, I believe we will find a suitable way forward.”
❝ i heard about that. someone blew this place into pieces, right ? i’m jealous... it sounded like a lot of fun. ❞ brows furrow further as his expression becomes one akin to a child about to throw a tantrum. thankfully for those nearby, his brother is excellent at handling him. years of practice had not been wasted.
jade had the workings of a plan already - how very like him. it wasn’t as if floyd would ever be motivated to make one of his own, even if it was perfectly within his ability to do so.
the boy could never understand why it was such a surprise to others that a high-achieving intellect wasn’t just a defining characteristic of one leech brother, but rather both. they were twins. that much should be expected of them. data and research, academics and strategy. while none of these things were his favorite subjects ( needlessly dull, beyond boring, he could find better amusement through squeezing an unsuspecting victim than sitting around all day ), they remained areas floyd could breeze through. rather, he couldn’t understand why people had so much trouble using their brains in the first place.
all the same, it was easier to let jade do the thinking. it just made sense.
❝ hm, you think so ~ ? we can play around ? ❞ his expression brightens, the sour mood of a few moments before gone as quickly as it came. ❝ then that’s fine. if jade has an idea, it’ll be a good one ~ ♡ just tell me what to do, ‘kay ? ❞
