"To My Dearest, Elias"
Our love was a blazing fire, burning bright,
A love unparalleled, a wondrous sight,
But fate had a different tale in store,Â
A plan I must obey for.Â
You are a man of honor and heredity,
With duties and responsibilities,
And I, just a journalist, with a pen in hand,
Longing to write stories of justice, grand.
Our love was a flame, fierce and wild,
But society's rules, I cannot defile,
For they say two men cannot wed,
And so, our love must come to an end.
I look into your eyes, so full of grace,
And my heart aches to see your face,
But the world is not ready for our love,
And so, I must let you go, my dove.
I know you deserve that crown,
More than anyone in this town,
And I want to write your story, my dear,
But to do so, I must leave you here.
For history cannot allow us to be,
Two men, bound by love and destiny,
But know that my heart will always hold,
The memories of our love, untold.
Farewell, my love, my heart breaks,
But I know this is what fate takes,
I'll watch you from afar, with pride,
As you become the king, just not by my side.
