The more posts I read about the master lyricist that is Harry and the blatant, bitter mocking of Liam over one single Brit award, the more I want to remind people that Harry’s debut album, which was great, was also full of repetition, cringy cliches and music copycat throwbacks, cowritten and cosigned by veteran music writers and producers, in what was a clear and public Grammy grab or bust campaign that ultimately failed.

I’m sure it sucks for those who thought they were hearing the second coming of Mozart. But blame the snobby panels/judges across the board. Blame the rock/adult contemporary stations that didn’t embrace or play SOTT or the album on their radio stations. Blame Harry’s promo that was front-loaded with hype but then went stagnant. Blame the fact that SOTT simply did not have longterm momentum and certainly not with the streaming gp.

Liam, or any of the guys, working and making positive strives has no impact on Harry being shut out. In fact, the guys succeeding only enhances the 1D brand, and, therefore, Harry’s pedigree. There’s nothing to gain from tearing them down. The endless speculation of Liam’s label paying people off, the bizarre and tiresome superiority/victim complex over Harry and the lack of simple perspective is so tired.

Harry had a fantastic solo debut. He was Sony’s best-seller, favored by critics and God knows he was afforded opportunities the other guys will never see based on his talent, clout and connections. But he’s still got a lot of room to grow before he’s entitled to anything, much less “legends only” or automatic music award status.

Personally, I was most excited for Liam’s debut. A year later and I’m *still* waiting for a song I can personally connect to, and I’m glad he’s revisiting his album. But damn if I’m going to have the audacity to shame or diminish a billion streams, hundreds of thousands of pure sales, multiple platinum certifications and all his many live performances that generated hyped crowd reactions for Strip That Down.

What blows my mind with Liam’s success is that he has yet even to show his full potential. He’s still got cards to deal. Harry all but threw out the kitchen sink. This is not the time to be shady or mocking. It would be smarter to take some notes from a talented, humble, gracious and hard-working guy who has nothing but generous things to say about Harry.

The thing is Liam is still breaking records with Strip That Down ! After all those months that song keeps getting more power and right now is the most sold single out of ot4 and just reached double platinum in the US.

So basically I just want to ask all the hateful people that said Liam was gonna flop and that std was trash: HOW DOES MY ASS TASTE LIKE?!
