"Yeah," He chuckled, looking down at Kass. Her mind was absolutely hilarious to him, how she tried to think of other things, how she tried to remember it 'wasn't him', et cetera et cetera. "You can say 'it's ok' all you want but I doubt you'll be saying that when this is all over." But then, there were her screams. Causing such pain was something that fueled a demon, fed them to feel more than satisfied in a way that just eating flesh couldn't. It was the voice of chaos, pain.
He more watched her. Her reactions and how she moved if she could. Now that he thought of it, all those glass shards and burnt body parts enhanced her appearance if anything. Inside, so was Zach. He hadn't a choice, anyway. You're not crazy. Was he not? Was he not doing this? Could she be right? No of course she is, this is a demon controlling him—remember that! The demon laughed and Zach screamed for her. "I'm okay! I'M FINE! I THINK! IT'S NOT REAL!" But it was all the same, right? He didn't know. He didn't know anymore.
It wasn't good for him to see any of it, though, either. This all happened to him? It drove him insane. He grasped his head and whispered, "Stop, stop, stop." to himself. He seemed to flinch and twitch whenever something happened to him. Look at Kass again please look at Kass again. And so he did, remarkably. But the demon was listening to her head, and so was Zach very unwillingly. Something in Kass had shut down and Zach yelled so loud he felt as if his own, whatever-throat would burst.
"Oh wow..." The demon observed, with Kass leaning on him and he hearing that faint, I'm not crazy. Shoving her to the floor and standing beside her, he looked down at Kass. "You're very weak. Which I've known from the start but I didn't know how weak. You shut down... so fast, I really barely laid a god damn finger on you. I didn't even get to show you the thing in the art room, it was the last thing actually. The thing that reawakened Zach's mental illnesses while he was dead. The thing that would've been pretty damn painful but I bet you would've loved what with your addiction. You couldn't hold on just for that? And then I would've killed you after that and you'd be out of your so called misery."
"SHUT UP!" Something in Zach was building up. The effort to fight the demon off had heightened so much during this entire time and he felt some hidden, raising panics increasing as the moments went. Heart beat quickening again and gasping once more, Zach felt like collapsing. "Kass, I'm so sorry, I'm—You're not crazy, you hear me?" He took her hand in his and looked at her with such scared and desperately apologetic eyes. "You need to get out of here... now." He swallowed hard, his body convulsing in sudden, small jolts as if he were being electrocuted. "Come on, come on—the door." He looked up, jumped over her and stopped for a moment as for a moment, he felt as if he were wax trying to move. He felt his head, and his chest burning with a pain he tried to ignore, but he groaned and willed everything he had to just get the god damn door open.
Do I have to hurt you, too? Zach's eyes widened and his eyes shut for a moment—finally a moment of darkness—but just as a deep scar appeared against his cheek, like something invisible was clawing at it. Big deal. That was like a paper clip compared to what Kass got, and Zach continued although with difficulty until his hand landed on the door knob.
There was such bright light when the door opened. The demon in that second took control again. He looked up, annoyance etched on his face and he rolled his eyes. Turning around, he scowled down at Kass. "Sorry about that. Technical difficulties, please stand by." He shook his head and came to a dissatisfying decision. "I'll reschedule your death, Kass. Not today. Aren't you just lucky?" But he was suddenly so satisfied as he looked down at her again when he stepped up beside her. "I think death would actually be kinder to you what with where your head is at right now. You crazy, crazy, crazy bitch. If you thought this was bad, you've got no clue." She would suffer now, and that was actually perfect. The demon grabbed her broken arms and dragged her on the floor, backing up towards the door. "Someone'll find you. Don't worry." And, once she was right out the door slammed the door so hard the wood banged on her head.
The demon was now free to panic himself. For someone who didn't remember much, he was certainly fighting harder than the Zach he truly came from. And that worried him just a little. He wasn't done in here yet. He couldn't be. Kass still had to die.
