There was a certain confidence in the way Rionette’s eyes scanned the crowd. Inside, she had her nerves in a bundle. In the business world, one show of weakness meant that you’d be eaten whole. But Ree supposed that she would rather have this much pressure on her shoulders rather than getting orders of coffee.
She listened to the opposing company’s representative, a small smile playing on her lips. She had studied the opposing company previously. This at least, gave her a little confidence boost. The intern didn’t even bother to look at the person beside her. This, she learned was a way to appear unfazed by the competition.
“Good morning,” she said pleasantly, a tone she normally spoke in. Her eyes met those who were in the crowd as she went on with a pleasant smile. “My name is Rionette Cavelry. I speak in behalf of M&F Worldwide Corporation. M&F Worldwide is a subsidiary holding company operating for twenty-eight years as of June first of last year and a part of MacAndrews & Forbes Incorporated. A global leader in a wide range of industries, from cosmetics and entertainment to biotechnology and military equipment.” She finally glanced at her opponent, a playful smirk on her lips and a glint in her eye as if to say funny how you mentioned Forbes. She took a moment to pause. “We have assured the security and privilege that our subsidiary companies’ capital and forfeiture to bring revenue for the whole of those twenty-eight years. And shall continue to do so for the next twenty-eight years there of.” Big words meant to impress investors, of course. She sifted through her index cards for show– although she didn’t really have anything written on them– before she turned to her opponent with a nod.
Zach tried to remain calm, but it took all in him to stop himself from rolling his eyes. As a heir to multi billion fortune, he wanted to prove himself, he normally wouldn’t care much of what people thought about him, but he wasn’t going to lose to an intern. Not when his cousins had appointed him this meeting exactly because they thought, he couldn’t handle it. “I would go on and explain the story of how Cambridge Enterprises started in the 19th century and along with hard work and dedication has grown into what it is today, but I’m sure you’re here for the finances and not for a bedtime story” he grinned at the cloud as he heard a few laughs. Being hones,t at this point, Zach had read and watched every single video on pitching and whereas this is not something new for him, it was the first time he did it in representation of the family’s company.
“In this decade, we’ve seen quite a few issues. Individuals aren't happy with their stock market returns and their passbook savings so they're taking their financial portfolios back and investing locally. By investing locally in business with insecurity of holding by and a very low rate of becoming multinationals, they’re taking an even bigger risk. It’s a shame considering that the current market growth is being overtaken by software and tech startups and renewable energy” Targeting the problem was the first step after engaging with the crowd. Zach would hate to admit it, but he kept up with the company’s projets more than he liked to “For 2016 we have taken over this project, I’m sure you’ve read about it. The current changes made to one of our most important project in the last few years, The electric car. The current cars in the market with this quality are overly expensive and target the higher crowd, not the Millenials who’re currently taking job positions and have shown to prefer renewable energy.”
He walked as he spoke, his free hand gesturing as he emphasized each word. Trying to catch the attention of the investors was a thing, to keep them focusing on you was another. Zach’s energy was contagious, by being young and knowing the array of information he could answer questions easily “A car that, by using solar electric power charging stations instead of gas in the span of five years, can save up to ten thousand dollars. The original price on this model is set at 100,000, but after data analysis and mass market adoption, for this year, it will drop to almost 31,000 making it affordable for the Middle Class citizens” his eyes scanned the crowd, watching as he knew had at least convinced some people “More than a dozen states offer tax credit incentives for electric cars, another benefit that comes along with the project. Along with that I would like to add that, we have partnered with almost a hundred business in each state to provide charging stations.” He smiled proudly, those nights up studying and on the phone paid off and he was sure that with this, he would impress his family, squish the competition and surprise the investors.
