the artistic imbalances

‘well i rather like making you blush.’ she was a cheeky bugger after all, smiling so much that her cheeks were slowly beginning to hurt. ‘i’d really like to go to peru again, definitely egypt as well. actually yeah, downright, egypt’s my favourite place in the whole wide world. the history there is ridiculous and amazing.’ she took a few more sips of her drink, and since she didn’t drink all that much, she was already hazy. she held out her hand for zoe, completely out of character for her but, ‘dance with me, beautiful.’ she didn’t think she could handle any more of this wonderful girl but in the same sense, she never wanted to stop talking to her. and yet she was so eager to ask questions about eli! and all eli wanted to do was talk about zoe! ‘shhhh, i’m not a celebrity! no where near. just… a girl in a bar. you’re far more exciting. will you show me your work some day? oh! i don’t know if it’s abruptly obvious already but i’m so not leaving your side tonight without grabbing your number, okay? okay. i write whatever comes to mind, it’s silly but it’s pretty much word vomit… on paper and then i sort through it and it makes sense. very intriguing vomit though, you know when the artist says the curtains are blue and they mean their life sucks and they want to die? yeah, stuff like that. reading between the lines? i don’t know, i can’t think, i’m dizzy! talk about you, please. i want to know everything, what’s your favourite colour? how old are you? if you had twenty four hours to live, what would you do?’
“Well, quit it.” Zoe scoffed, but she only giggled as she stirred the straw in her drink and shook her head. “Actually I’m joking, keep making me blush. I just need to think of something to make you blush because I’m looking like a right piece of shit so far in comparison.” Although, making Eli smile was definitely second best. Zoe was certain that grin hadn’t left her gorgeous face yet. Hopefully it wouldn’t. As long as she kept her geekiness and conspiracy theories at bay, Eli might actually want to see Zoe again. She sipped at her drink until there was nothing left but crushed ice and happily took Eli’s offered hand. “My pleasure!” Zoe couldn’t be happier in this moment. And she did love to dance! “Hmm,” She closed one eye, a funny, thoughtful expression taking over her features as she took Eli’s other hand. “That is exactly what a celebrity would say.” Well, now a new conspiracy theory was born! Thankfully, it was hidden with flirting. “Please, there is no way I’m more exciting. I’m not the one who’s... been out of this godforsaken town where the only fun place to go is... right here.” Her eyes widened softly, surprised of the question, but also surprisingly appreciative of it. “My paints and drawings?” Or my graffiti? “I, yeah, sure. I’d love to show you if you’re up for it, of course!” Zoe bit her lip as her smile tried to defy its limits. “Well now I know for sure. And you could possibly maybe give me your number? I mean yeah you could text me and tell me its you but what if I leave, right? And the second I’m outside this club I want to text you ‘cause I already miss your company?!” It was a valid question, right? Had to be!” She lifted Eli’s hand up to twirl her around. Just to be cute! “Oh you’re one of those writers. I hated those types of writers in school! Had to explicate everything. But I would love to give your writing a shot. I’ve got a feeling you’d give all those dead guys a run for their money. Will you write about me someday?” She laughed softly, hoping Eli wouldn’t be too dizzy. “Oh are you feeling alright? Not much of a drinker, are you? Oh god, okay, you asked about me. Boring me, fine. Erm...” She swayed her hips a little and furrowed her eyebrows. “I’m twenty... fuck. Four. Just turned twenty four, alright? I forgot! Favorite coor is... the type of color you see that is... the color of the Caribbean sea. And if I had twenty four hours to live... I’d do you! And then make you your favorite foods. And snog you. Watch a movie. We fuck again, and I’d... go down to my special hiding place with you if there was time left. But only if you wanted to be a part of it all, obviously.” Zoe smiled a little shyly. “I clearly do not have a lot of endeavors and the first hot girl I see I decide I’d spend my last dying moments with. How have I not scared you off yet?!”
