The first Pokemon Go Fest to be held virtually, making it the most accessible ever. Pokemon Go is a game that is not afraid to ask you to spend any amount of money. The previous community days have had supplemental passes available to those who just want to elevate their experiences. But even to PoGo’s early mechanics, if you want to run around town to different gyms to complete raids you most likely need some sort of vehicle. During raid days when you are in a caravan of cars driving gym to gym, imagine being an eight year-old stuck at home.
Go Fest 2020 pass was about $16, included 2 days of rare spawns, fun challenges, and some premium items. For Day One my wife had a hair appointment in the morning so I tagged along and we had breakfast in a new neighborhood. We walked around saw some other locals playing then I spent the rest of the party, including Sunday in my apartment. Day One highlight was catching a Hundo & a shiny Unown O. I had heard a lot of talk about hoarding pokeballs before Go Fest, since I have two pokestops on top of me I didn’t worry, but I actually ran out of balls at 7:30pm. So take note, hoarding pokeballs for Go Fest is a real thing.
Day Two revolved around Team Go Rocket, I mainly focused on farming candy for Litwick and Gible. Finally chose a Gible to evolve all the way through to Garchomp, saved a 96% incase there’s a Community Day with an exclusive move. It was two days full of activity and I hope Niantic can make a lane for these events. We all want to go back to traveling for ‘mons but we shouldn’t forget the techniques for awareness.
The retro movie ratings from the Motion Picture Association of America in 1970 were, G-M-R-X. G (General Audiences), M (for Mature Audiences), R (Restricted- under 17 admitted if accompanied), and X (not admitted if under 17). X rated films offered a lot of wiggle room to push cinemas limits. Here’s two X rated films that I will be giving a try;
Midnight Cowboy
Fritz the Cat

A lot has changed since the last time I logged into tumblr. I am happily married, moved across the country, am casually unemployed during the pandemic, and become an adamant Pokemon Go player.
This space will remain a curation of my favorite things as it always has. Just with a new idea of delivery for more video game talk, but I would like to continue to share my finds in fashion, architecture, automobiles and art.
I started playing Pokemon Go on July 6, 2016, everyone remembers when this game was released because of the social phenomenon that occurred. Since then the game has changed a lot, I have a tendency to collect so my original meta in the game was to catch ‘em all.
Pokemon Red was the first game I ever found on my own and completed as a kid on my PC using a gameboy emulator in 1999. I chose Bulbasaur and so began a relationship that would be on and off for another twenty years. After Red, I didn’t play a Pokemon title for 10 years until Pokemon Pearl on the Nintendo DS. This introduced friend codes and the ability to trade using the internet. My DS was stolen from my desk at my job, I still have the game cartridge but no interest in buying a new DS. Six years later Pokemon Go is released and I begin my journey to fill out the Pokedex in this game.
At the moment I have caught 570 different Pokemon, all on the same Pokedex that is safe on the cloud. With the ongoing pandemic I think it will be a long time until I have the opportunity to travel for regional exclusives. For now I enjoy shiny hunting, battling Team Go Rocket and occasionally raiding.

Best thing I found at a convenience store in Japan last month was this “TKG Onigiri” at Air Lawson in Haneda Airport. You see, TKG stand for “tamago kake gohan”, which is a simple dish made by cracking a raw egg over a steaming hot bowl of rice and adding a little soy sauce. Mix and eat. Just like that.
Here, the fine folks at Lawson, Japan’s largest convini chain, tried to recreate said dish in the form of a rice ball. And they did a pretty dam good job of it too, even down to the keeping the texture of the raw egg! Or should we say “egg topping” as the package does? Consider me impressed.
