Tikaani resealed her injured leg, this had gone from great to worrisome in a matter of seconds. Luckily her hit had knocked the opposing waterbender off the back and that gave her team the advantage for now. Two against one.
She took a deep breath, flexing her fingers before lashing out with a water whip, her teammate swinging his legs to rush a blast of fire towards his chest only to have the disc catch him off guard. The first caught him in the chest and caused him to stumble back to the last zone, the second he kicked away right into his unsuspecting teammate.
The woman took the disc to the side and she hit the railing, her eyes narrowing sharply as she gripped her ribcage but waved her hand to indicate she wasn’t going to stop fighting. She’d be sure to sock him once the match was over.
She composed herself, that idiot would probably be knocked off soon enough anyway and this time she wasn’t going to help him. She went on the offensive and fueled her attacks with her frustration, jabbing rushes of water at the opposing earthbender’s legs and chest.
Zan couldn’t help but wince when he saw the opposing firebender send one of his discs at his teammate. Now that was just clumsy. He had a feeling that bender was going to get an earful after the match. At least he had been able to push him back another zone. It wasn’t exactly his goal, but he was another step closer to completing it. Still, part of him wished that the mistake with the disc would have hurt the waterbender a little more. The wave of her hand told him that she was definitely a fighter, one that wasn’t going to let a little damage from some earth disks knock her down. It was a nice challenge for him, but would she ever go down? He sent two more discs at the firebender just before the first shots of water hit him.
The first blast hit him square in the chest, knocking him back on the ground inches away from the third zone line. He scrambled to get back up, but the water just kept coming and coming. A blast hit him in the head, knocking his helmet off and pushing him back another foot. The red line lit up, and he was stuck in the third zone with little space to maneuver. One more well-timed shot and he knew he was going down. He wasn’t about to let that happen, though. Once he regained his balance, he immediately began pulling disc after disc out of the floor. Rapid fire seemed like his best shot now. Zan sidestepped with each pull, making sure to vary his position so that he would be a moving target. It was a last ditch effort on his part, but hopefully sending so many discs over would make it difficult for his opponents to take the time to aim at him.
Tikaani clenched her jaw, balancing on her good leg since she knew after those hits her injured one couldn’t take the stress. She tightened her fists, punching one of the discs back towards him before ducking another, a smirk pulling at her lips when a well aimed shot knocked his helmet off.
The flurry of stone discs was definitely concerning, her maneuverability limited due to her use of just one leg, luckily most of the shots seemed more directed towards her teammate instead, the idiot could use a cold dip anyways.
She ducked another disk and rushed another jet of water at their opponent just as a disk hit her fire bender square in the chest, launching him from the platform, the brief distraction was all that was needed to knock her back into the third zone.
The woman cursed under her breath, it was one on one now and her situation wasn’t looking good but she’d manage for as long as she could. She repositioned herself as she balanced on her good leg, jumping over one disk as another grazed her arm before trusting a few more jets of water towards him, her eyes narrowed.
Zan could tell his attacks were taking a toll on the waterbender. She was avoiding the use of her injured leg, making it difficult for her to move around properly. A small smile tugged at his lips when he saw the firebender fall over the edge. Now he was exactly where he wanted to be: one-on-one with this waterbender girl.
Despite how rapid his attacks were, she seemed to be handling them quite well. Kicking them back at him was a bold move, but he ducked just in time before the one she sent back could hit him. Before he could pull up another disk, a few shots of water began to hit him. He stumbled back until he was teetering over the edge, just barely holding his balance at the end of his zone. For a moment he felt like he had lost it, but he managed to throw his weight forward and stabilize himself once more. That was too close for comfort. He stomped another pair of discs out of the floor and sent one directly at his opponent while the other ricocheted off the barrier. Taking another step away from the edge, he pulled out one more and sent that one over as a direct attack for good measure. He needed to finish this soon - the ground was slippery from all the water attacks. As an earthbender, that put him in a very uncomfortable position. Without the ability to have his feet solidly on the ground, he knew he was going to lose the upper hand. Just a few more shots, though, and he thought he could pull off a win in this match.
