AU where Spider is raised by the RDA and fully buys into their propaganda about needing to take Pandora for humanity and all that bs by virtue of having been indoctrinated since birth.

HOWEVER,

Dude also 100% buys into the concept of "warrior honour" and "playing fair." Which leads to the funny concept of Spider TECHNICALLY being the Sully's enemy and yet at the same time also being pretty chill to hang around.

Spider refuses to fight any of the kids. Those are NOT warriors; they are NOT to be harmed. It would be despicable and evil to go after them when his fight is with their parents. Lo'ak takes insane offence to this and actually attempts to convince Spider to fight him. The human will not budge; it drives him up a wall. He's not some helpless child!!!1 He can take you!!!! Stop treating me like some infant and take me seriously!!!!!

Kiri thinks the human is incredibly intriguing, he's extremly gentle with Pandora despite fighting for the RDA. Anytime he's around her she tries to convert him to the resistance. It gives JW vibes, "Have you heard of our Lady and Saviour Eywa yet" type shii. She is very determined and knows for SURE that Spider will break sooner or later. It's only a question of time until he defects after realising how evil the RDA is and how he's been lied to his whole life (she isn't wrong).

Neteyam respects the human and his code. They fought one singular time for a brief moment on the seadragon. Spider threw him a gun to "be on even grounds for this." He refused. Spider dropped his. Tuk and Kiri stormed towards him in the middle of the fight to try and escape together/"save" their brother from the evil human. Upon realising that Neteyam is younger than himself Spider looked lowkey disgusted at himself and told Neteyam to "get back to your Mom!" He was also mildly offended at that but figured escaping was more important.

Anytime they see eachother now Neteyam is told to "Get back to your Mom!" now. Tuk is also included in that after she told Spider she was?? seven??? wtf??? You are a literal toddler??? What are you doing kidnapped on a battlefield???? Get your ahh home omfg what's WRONG with you people!?!?!?!

Neytiri and Jake took the longest to warm up to Quaritch's human son, but after being told about him by their kids (Spider saved them multiple times from kidnappings. he considers targeting them dirty play and dishonourable, even more so because using lure to bait an enemy is "pure cowardice"). They decide to check on him. Spider does his usual honour game. Tells Jake and Neytiri to take a gun, they refuse. He insists. They still refuse. He drops his to start to fight. They kidnap him because holy hell, they are NOT leaving this kid in the hands of the RDA. He's too good for that.

After rewatching the movie I realized that Spider was actually in front of her when they escaped.

Spider was probably feeling tired mid-ride and she chose to switch positions. He didn't just fall asleep on her back and Neytiri just let him. She chose to be the front rider to block the wind so Spider can sleep peacefully 😭

Spider who as a kid would kick and scream until he was allowed to sleep in one of the link units with the prayer that he would wake up with an avatar.

Spider who as a kid would sneak out at night to sleep under the tree of voices because he wanted so badly for Eywa to hear him and give him the right body.

Spider who as kid let his mask go completely depleted before changing it because it just reminded him of how different he is to his people.

Spider who when he first entered the water without his mask completely forgot and found out real quick what sea water to the lungs feels like.

Spider who still hits his face against things because there is no longer a barrier between him and the world.

Spider who bites everything just because he can now.

Spider who sometimes has moments where he forgets and panics when he doesn't have a mask on.

I can just picture Quaritchs throwing his AFAA sweatshirt at fem!Spider with all his might while she's like wtf are you doing, I will drown in that!

The guy would have a heart attack seeing how others look at his little girl while she's parading around in a Na'vi outfit (if you're taking requests, please make art like this 🙏)
