Qu'til and Other Cargo Retrieved
From The Federal Gazette - Article written by Tul M'tram (in photo)
As many of my readers already know, I am consistently involved in affairs involving our most peculiar institution and was very glad to have been selected as a correspondent for the missing ship affair. We were told that the ship was being recovered by a Fefing mercenary organization called "Maz'rin's Blade" - and while they may be mercenaries, do know that they are honorable and bound to tradition. Our band - led by the diplomat, Tek M'tram (to whom I am a cousin), quickly understood the shared comradery of two warrior peoples. M'tram made sure that all of the cargo was still on our vessel - the Fefings having secured the ship a few days hence - and paid the full 100 million federal credits that were offered in the bounty. After a full count, it was noted that 127 of the Qu'til were dead - a good deal less than was feared. Noting their warrior culture, I asked one of the Fefings in the company - I believe they were of a higher rank - to a sparring match in the on-board dueling room that Tek M'tram's diplomatic ship has. They agreed. Rules, leaning more toward our way of sparring, were agreed to, and a practice sword was given to the Fefing. They were, at first, clearly not versed in the art form, being far too aggressive, causing them to get hit by my own sparring sword a number of times. Soon enough, though, the Fefing was able to learn from observation and - due to my overconfidence - was able to land a strike on myself. (Never say that I do not write my own inadequacies, dear reader!) It was then that the payment was finalized and the time for our two peoples to separate once more. Later that day, as the vessels were beginning their preparations for the hyperspace jump back into the Republic, I asked Tek about his kinship with the Fefing Mercenaries. He allowed me to publish this statement: "We are both honorable warrior peoples, it is a shame that they have to pay the Zangrens for their own work. I have been given a way to contact them - we will do so if the situation calls for them." I hope, dear reader, that this means that I will be able to spar with the Fefings again. They may be short, but they are quite nimble!
Well, ain't that good news?! Corpos, consumers, countryzangs, check out this neat article from our new contacts and hopefully prosperous future tradin' partners. Already makin' friends with our mutuals in Maz'rin's Blade.
