You have to walk quite a ways out from the Spiral Jetty to get to the water. But once you get there, IT's PINK! It has been so long since I've been out to the northern part of the Great Salt Lake. I have forgotten how pink it is! Why are parts of the Great Salt Lake so pink? Because that portion of the lake has a high concentration of red colored microorganism called Halophiles. Halophiles are a staple in the Great Salt Lake's ecosystem. Ive added some unedited photos, so you can get a realistic idea of how pink the water was that day.
