Have Larries never considered the fact that Louis isn’t at Pride because he doesn’t want to be? Or he feels like people would take it as a sign when it’s not? But I guess that would mean accepting Louis as he actually is, and being angry at him rather than ‘1DHQ.’

I’ve thought about this a lot in the last few days. It started with the posts about Louis “not being allowed to post anything” about the Orlando shooting (despite Harry and Liam both making Instagram posts showing their support for the victims, their loved ones, and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole). Those posts made me angry, but I was angry about a lot of things, and I wasn’t prepared to articulate my thoughts until now. As a queer person, I obviously want my favorite artists to support LGBTQIAP+ people. I want them to believe in marriage equality, I want them to support comprehensive health care and legal protection for trans people, I want them to care about the high rates of suicide, depression, and substance abuse within the LGBTQ+ community, I want them to worry about queer kids being bullied at school. Basically, I want my favorite artists to actively give a shit about LGBTQ+ people. And sometimes they don’t. I’m not saying that I think Louis is homophobic. If asked, I think he would absolutely say he loves and appreciates his LGBTQ+ fans just the same as his straight fans. But that doesn’t make him an activist. Saying “yeah, gay people are pretty cool, no one should hate them” is like, the fucking bare minimum of decency, and I’m not handing out cookies for that. I have never heard or read an interview in which Louis seems invested in vocalizing his support for LGBTQ+ people. I have never heard him vocally support his LGBTQ+ fans at a concert, like Harry has. I have never seen him do a full interview and photo spread for a gay periodical, like Liam has. To my knowledge, he has not chosen to attend any of the pride events now in a show of support for the Orlando victims, as his girlfriend Danielle has (and as many people have criticized her for). It would be so incredible to see another member of one of my favorite bands be publicly supportive of LGBTQ+ people. That would mean so much to me. But it’s not happening, and I don’t think it’s going to happen in the future, and I’m so, so, so sick of people (which is to say some, though not all Larries) celebrating Louis’ LGBTQ+ activism, when Louis’ LGBTQ+ activism doesn’t exist. He’s not an activist. What has he even done that people could consider active support of his queer fans? A few t-shirts for specific brands, which some people have decided must be a symbol of his never-vocalized love for LGBTQ+ people? Support of queer people is literally just not a priority for him, and people need to stop pretending like it is. And the default response to this is always, “He’s under Modest/Syco/Simon’s control! He’s under contract! He can’t say anything!” He can. If he wants to, he can. He just doesn’t consider it a priority. That’s something his fans need to accept about him, no matter how much some of us might wish otherwise.

Chi Chi: My other bit of news is my favorite story. Now I have to thank a young lady called Rebecca who Tweeted us yesterday to point out this story.

Nick: Right

Chi Chi: Basically there is a One Direction fan theory that Louis Tomlinson’s baby is not real. And it’s like…

Nick: Oh, leave it out (laughs)

Chi Chi: I’m not even joking. This is not like… The reason I’m mentioning it is because of the depths that the fans have gone to to prove this fan theory.

Nick: Right

Chi Chi: They’ve looked at hair length...

Nick: Right

Chi Chi: The size of his hands in pictures, they’ve looked at his tattoos and whether they’re there or not. They’ve even, and I’m showing you this, gone to like basically getting pictures and then looking at the pixilation on the pictures… Can you see that?

Nick: Yes.

Chi Chi: Basically to see whether he…

Nick: The shadow is real and everything on the baby.

Chi Chi: To see if the shadows are real, whether the pixilation is real. And they’ve basically decided that this baby is a doll. And none of this is true, he’s not a dad and it’s not true.

Nick: *scoffs*

Chi Chi: But it is incredible

Nick: Are they OK?

Chi Chi: The amount of CSI investigation these fans have gone into

Nick: Does no one have a job?

Chi Chi: Well, I think it’s..

Nick: I mean that’s a lot of time, innit?

Chi Chi: Even some photographers have gone on and basically said, well, I know for a fact that I can see that this was doctored for this reason and this reason and this reason.

Nick: So, is there a doll?

Chi Chi: Well, no, it’s a real baby. He is a dad, it’s, I mean 1D fans are just going to have to accept it. He’s a dad.

Nick: He is a dad.

Chi Chi: But literally they’ve compared pictures from the past, they’ve compared pictures of him holding the baby, compared pictures of him and an actor who looks like him who has similar tattoos and he’s just like oh no it’s this actor, it’s not Louis

Nick: No, it’s his baby, get over it.

Chi Chi: Exactly.

Nick: Get to school. Weirdos.

Chi Chi: But I do like the level of detectiveness that his fans have gone into.

Nick: I don’t. It’s a waste of their time. He’s had a baby, get to school.

Chi Chi: Well, it’s true. But, well done then.

Nick: Well done then! *laughs*

Chi Chi: Because they’ve investigated! They’ve researched! Look at it in the positive way.

Nick: They’ve wasted so much time about someone who they’ll probably never meet. So, well done.

Chi Chi: It’s true, but you know they’ve used their skills that they’ve learned in school to research stuff.

Nick: No they haven’t! That is not taught in school. Creeping out Louis Tomlinson after maths.
