I think all of the drivers should be watching what is going on with Max. This is even bigger than just one driver. He is a canary in the the coal mine. The TPs/CEOs are wanting to decrease the influence and importance of the drivers. Whether they are actively colluding (not likely, but lets admit not completely crazy) or just individually acting to take advantage of the conflience of events to make an example of Max. "No driver is more important than management." I purposely don't say team because none of this is about what is good for the team. I know we home about Wolff's obsession with Max but I guarantee that he is happier being able to reject a Verstappen who has dropped his asking price. They will need to humiliate Max to make an example of him. And I think the broader thesis is proven when you look at the regulations. They are designed to flatten skill and TPs get to use the excuse of the 'first year of the cycle' to ignore their drivers input. Max is not the only driver I see being deeply unhappy. I think of course the joke will be on them. Fans are not interested in the mediocre championship. They will get bored. Even if you design an amazing car fans want a great driver to bring it to it to life. At a time when Ai threatens jobs and creative endeavors alike while grand prix ticket prices soar, the FIA and the FOM are riding the trashed edge of disaster.

Max may be that canary but you best believe he won't go quietly. He will sing his beautiful song the whole way.
