Day 30: CHRISTmas. Truth. Which is better.....to tell the truth that no one believes or to tell a lie that everyone believes? Have you noticed that once you tell a lie, you have to remember it and who you told it to. Telling lies is work. You never have to remember what you said or who you said it to when you tell the truth. Jesus is truth and what a gift he presents in it. Operating in truth is freedom and a blessing. Day 29: CHRISTmas. Humility. How humble are you? Okay, okay....how humble am I? I try my hardest not to boast or be prideful. I try really hard not to brag. I respect the fact that I don't truly own anything; I'm a steward of what God has blessed me to manage. I do my best in submitting to God and His word. I live a life that I pray is honorable, pleasing and acceptable to God the way Jesus modeled life before us. Humility is a precious gift from Jesus. Day 28: CHRISTmas. Eternal Life. Because Jesus was born, He too, faced death like we all shall. However, His death brought us ETERNAL LIFE! Through His death, we are gifted a lifetime reward of worshiping God the Father....Daddy! Through the gift was sealed with His death, it was manifested through His birth. To know that His whole reason for being born was so He could die that I/we may live forever with Daddy is the ultimate gift of gifts through His birth. Day 27: CHRISTmas. Self Control. Have you ever lost your temper? Have you fallen to temptation? You're not alone! It's a challenge to maintain one's emotions. It's a challenge to stay in control. It takes practice and discipline to build up one's self control. But over time, it's doable. Thank you God for the gift. With you, all things are possible. As I turn my issues over to you, I can build a resistance to what is not of you. Day 26: CHRISTmas. Gentleness. Can you imagine what the day after the birth of Jesus would be like. I imagine that it would be just like it was after I gave birth to my daughters. Baby crying. Baby eating. Baby sleeping. Baby pooping. Baby peeing. But the difference is that this is no ordinary baby since He is the savior of the world. But His actions are the same as every baby before Him and every baby after. One difference is His gentleness. The way He cares and concerns Himself with us. His actions, thoughts, feelings, and speech towards us should be modeled. He doesn't condemn and isn't prideful. We must love the sinner but hate the sin. Often times we hate both, the sinner and the sin. As the saying says.....you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Day 24: CHRISTmas. Redeemer. Today is the night before Jesus is born. The night before the perfect gift came to the world. He came to redeem us from our sins. He came so we could get back to the Father. My redeemer is not just a saying but my gift from a loving Father and a generous big Brother! Day 23: CHRISTmas. Wisdom. There is a difference in being smart be having wisdom! Wisdom comes through time and experience. Smart comes from studying. Knowledge is a valuable asset but wisdom is a gift. Solomon could have had anything in the world but he asked for wisdom. E may not ask for it but through life's circumstances we obtain it and with God we develop and expand it. Day 22: CHRISTmas. Generosity. Today I was at Aldi Grocery Store. You know, the store where you have to put a quarter in the shopping basket in order to shop. Well, I was headed to get a basket when a woman just gave me hers and she won't take my quarter! Ironically, when I finished shopping and placing my items in the car, I just gave the basket away. Random acts of kindness. I was happy that someone would bless me, so I blessed someone else in return. I am a giver; it's just who I am. I enjoy blessing others. I enjoy blessing friends, family and strangers. What a blessing to be a blessing! Generosity is not expecting anything in return. Doing wonderful things. Today someone was very generous to me and I played it forward. How about you? Day 21: CHRISTmas. Freedom. Anyone that knows me, knows that I can speak on freedom. Let's be honest......freedom isn't free. Honestly, freedom is bought with a price and normally a blood price. Countries go to war to protect and defend their freedoms. Christ went to the cross to ensure we received freedom. Don't let His gift of freedom go wasted. In getting to know Him, you receive freedom in areas you know and don't know are bound. Let the shackles go.
