PLANTINGA'S FREE WILL DEFENSE
FREE WILL DEFENSE BY ALVIN PLANTINGA IS A THEODICY .
Plantinga states that because God wanted to create people who will freely choose to do the good, there are certain things He will not do, because He gave us freedom. Therefore, in no possible universe will there be no evil because as long as people are free, truly, to choose, there will always be those who will choose to do otherwise.
The chilling aspect of this theodicy is this: God has chosen the best possible universe out of the combinations of all universes. Which means this is it. This is the least amount of evil that there can be.
