"Why does it always have to be...?"

I titled the file that because, WHY does it always have to be Beth/LP schmoop to get me out a drawing funk?  Why can't I draw massively popular stuff instead of this? :P

Also this is all based on what took up my time yesterday.  (Except for the blue pic, that was just doodling smooches on a post-it note, because I constantly try to practice getting bill-shaped kisses to look decent.)  But, the larger pic is cuddling inside a sleeping bag.  The smaller pic on the far right is a moment or two later; she can't resist hugging him, even though it makes both of them feel a little awkward, because they're still "just friends" but - they're hugging each other in a damn sleeping bag.

I couldn't draw LP today to save my gadamned LIFE. :P  Beth looks all cute and he looks like something I'd have drawn a year ago. WHUT.

Sketch I did back in September(ish? maybe late August) in an effort to do a "sexay" Negaduck.  It... eh... I...  A for concept, D for execution.

Anyway I decided rather than try to salvage it in inking, I'm going to redo it so here it is on the fail pile :)

So.  A bit of a moment from the latest chapter of TWC4 and tying into that dress I've drawn a couple of times.  Beth goes up to change clothes in the bathroom and Launchpad has... issues with this.

I like this enough that, even though I don't plan to finish it, I MIGHT actually put it up on DA.  Not sure yet, though. XD

The pic I wanted to put up last night.  In-progress obviously; this is Gos riding piggyback on Drake, but I haven't started outlining him yet.  I need to fix her eyes but otherwise I like how she's coming along :D

That was sarcastic!  My browser is now officially so old that I can't upload photos to Tumblr anymore on this machine (you know, the one hooked up to the scanner and Photoshop?).  It was nice that I could at least upload to ONE site for a while, but now that it's been a few weeks, haha on you Rebecca!  I guess I'll have to do what I do to update DA,  and email it to myself so I can do it from my laptop :P

Prepare yourselves for EVEN FEWER updates since this blog is for in-progress stuff and by the time I get around to posting it'll probably be ready!

Okay I need help - I know I already posted this in-progress but I really need opinions.  Should I leave the linework on this as-is and colour it, or should I redo the lines in the usual way?

Sketch vs. outlined version. This is with the simulate pressure on using the path tool; it gives a very different look from one to the other, eh? Anyway I have a mostly-finished version of this that I may post here or I might bite the bullet and put it up at DA when I finally get back on there.

Looking at the dress from the back, I don't think this is actually the same dress. :P

I can't let EVERYTHING I put up here be a Beth-related sketch. This'll go up on DA once I'm back there, but happy birthday to Desert-Lilly... a month ago. XD Not at all sure I have the right last name for Darryl but... haaa oh well.

EDIT: JUST NOW it occurs to me that Lilly is phobic of fire and probably wouldn't want a lit candle near her hair.  DELIBERATELY IGNORE THIS PLEASE. :P

Been listening obsessively to "Eye in the Sky" by Alan Parsons Project. Ever have a song creep into your head and you have to make up a scenario that fits it so that you can draw a related pic? This ended up blending with a half-developed idea that will never be a fic in which Beth asks LP to accompany her to a school reunion (it's a cliche which is why I'll never write it) and the song became a scene that didn't previously exist, where Noah Webber - the love of Beth's 12-year-old life - takes a liking to her and puts the moves on her. She's very conflicted and lets him kiss her, and LP sees it. This looks way better in my head timed to the song, but at least I got it out there. I'm not planning on going anywhere else with this but I was surprised by how much I like the way LP came out here. Poor guy :(

Continuation of sorts of a sketch pic I did about a month ago; this is the "beginning" of it.  I am worried it might end up being overkill but I want to go from start to finish with Beth having a makeover, as if she's looking in the mirror.  In my head it's set to "Brass In Pocket" by the Pretenders, and it fits into chapter 4 of TWC4 (which I'm currently writing).  This is a WIP.  I'm not fully satisfied with this but I think it's as good as I'll get on this page.

Honestly, I wish I could take the time to draw a response to this (which is what I want to do with questions I get here), but it'll be easier if I just write it :)  Besides, this is kind of an actual serious question... so a cartoon might be kind of... weird. ;)

Short story: REAL LIFE said NO.  Uh, I know that's weird and cryptic but I want to keep it kind of vague right now.  I intend to come back but it's going to be a couple of weeks.  Thank you for checking in, Anon, and I'm sorry to everyone that I freaked out by doing that.  I *swear* it was necessary, but hopefully temporary.

Somebody please - tell me why I keep drawing the same basic picture over and over.  I WANT TO KNOW.

This one actually is from a canon scene in a fic I haven't started yet though.  My favourite is neither of the larger pictures but actually the smaller inset one at the end.  I like trying to do different angles for smooching and although it's not really all that clear she's kissing him, his eyes actually crack me up. XD  He looks, to be honest, more like he's thinking "HELP"
