âactual idealistâ (this is a school of philosophical thought developed by Giovanni Gentile, the OG fascist. i have been informed that this is not synonymous with fascism, and it is possible to be an actual idealist without being a fascist. however fascists often call themselves this)

"dissident"/"samizdat" (people in the alt right will often refer to themselves in this fashion; in fact, within the community the term "dissident right" is much more popular than "alt right." the term samizdat originated in the Eastern Bloc and it referred to a specific form of dissident activity; secretly publishing/distributing literature that was banned for political reasons (which was very much varied in terms of political content), but in its current usage it has been appropriated and overtaken by specifically the alt right.)

Fiume references (references to the Free State of Fiume that lasted between 1920-1924, fascists love that shit. For example if someone describes themselves as a "Fiumean" they're probably fash)
"frens" (sometimes, much of the time it's just an innocent quirky spelling of "friends" but if combined with Pepe memes / "frogposting" it's very likely an alt right dogwhistle) - "Help me find my frens!" - Literally the entirety of right wing twitter

Another one is â271,000â or â271k,â this is a Holocaust denialist conspiracy theory where they believe only 271,000 Jews were killed in the Holocaust.
Also just want to note here, Soyjak is *ABSOLUTELY* an alt right meme right from the very start. It's just that it, along with the chad shit and "reject modernity, embrace tradition" type memes, ended up becoming normalized as it got picked up by normies not in the know. This article about Soyboy doesn't really properly get into it (Know Your Meme rarely seems to properly acknowledge the full context and implications of some of its memes) but a lot of this is connected to the incel/alpha male/manosphere bullshit, with the (false) belief that consuming soy products raises your estrogen levels and makes you a beta male. The soyjak expression with the open mouth is supposed to make fun of "nu-male"/soyboys, ostensibly left leaning dudes who take selfies of themselves being excited about this or that, like pointing to their new switch or whatever. This probably sounds so weird but genuinely they are obsessed with these people not being "real" men, and also ties into a lot of the bizarre phrenology shit that side gets into, obsessions with weak chins and sloping foreheads being indicative of how (ferengi voice) feeeeemales will never want them. Dated now, but this hbomberguy video isn't a bad place to start for the broad strokes.

"retvrn" is a reference to a more primitive time, former fictional glory days where "white cultures" conquered other lands through their "superiority"
There are too many dogwhistles to keep track of, especially with the ADL's credibility having gone down the drain, but something perhaps more important than cataloguing all dogwhistles is understanding how constant and pervasive it is
Nazis are constantly talking in code, obscuring their meaning, and reframing it is jokey funny harmless shit.
It is not harmless nor jokey, and yet it trickles into the mainstream all the time *because* people think it's meaningless

The point is that once "normies" start using these terms, nazis come to think their ideology is accepted on a larger scale. There is little we can do to oppose this ignorance but we CAN take the next step which is refusing to allow more room.
These memes and jokes get nazis in the door, but it is of immense importance to speak up when they test the waters again.
