A). Take place during the Great Divorce™ period where Munch and Fin have broken up and they're beefing about their problems and Munch is bringing up Lake because he's obviously been jealous of Fin partnered with someone else and Fin plays into it just to piss John off which BACKFIRES SLIGHTLY when Munch ends up putting on his angry dom hat and whispering sexy "threats" that Lake wouldn't know what he's doing while Munch knows exactly how to fuck Fin into submission and OH BOY Mr afraid to admit he's gay and only ever tops is suddenly a trembling mess because he really wants to bottom for pissed off jealous Munch... Or
B). It's post the Great Divorce™ when they've made up and are back together still sort of secretly (with the exception of Olivia), and instead of any big time jealousy and angst, it's a situation where they can act more couply and gay openly under the pretense it's just part of the undercover job, but ifs good exposure therapy for Fin to be "openly gay" and he starts realising how nice it does feel being openly affectionate with John, and instead of angry horny flirting, it's more loving and playful... Probably John still talking about fucking Fin but this time it's a lot more of a gentle fantasy and Fin's melting more openly at the idea instead of simply turning red and telling John to shove it.
