are you ok its been six months
Hi! I’m doing good now, thank you for checking in on me! I didn’t realise it’s already been half a year since my last update. I’d been really sick last autumn and my physical health was at its worst, but I’m doing much better now. Mentally I’m in a much better place and can honestly say I’m doing well.
- One big life update - Last September I enrolled in a Visual Development school to learn to draw. I’ve reached a point where animation feels like the only way I can currently express my creativity - and to do that, I knew I had to start from the basics. Static images now feel a bit limiting for the things I want to create, so I decided to embark on this new journey :) I don’t know if this will lead me exactly where I want to go or take me somewhere unexpected, but I wanted to trust my gut and give myself a chance, so I wouldn’t regret it later.
I don’t know if I’ll have time (or the inspiration) to create new photographic works, but I hope you’ll still enjoy my future animated works or maybe even drawings… :)
Sending everyone a big hug and thank you for still being here 🤍 I hope to update again soon!

I haven't been able to create new photographic artworks lately due to the many changes, both internal and external, happening in my life right now. However, once things settle down and I adjust to these new (positive but challenging) changes, I will definitely share new works :) Once again, thank you for being here and watching over my messy journey! I can't wait to create new works and share them with you again!

Hi Jee Won.. love your work.. your work really resonates with me. Could you tell me how do i become an digital artist and what major should i choose if i go to college
Hi 💗 I'm sorry for the late reply... I don't think there's a single 'correct' path to becoming a digital artist. I have a degree in Modern Languages, and I started creating as a hobby and got better at it by practicing. I think it depends on what you really want to do and what your final goal is. If you'd like to create using photography like me, you can definitely teach yourself and improve without a specific art major. But if you’ve already set your mind on becoming an artist and have something specific you'd like to explore, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go to an art school to find out. One of the things I learned is that you get to know your preferences by actively exploring. So even if you're not sure, you could try what you're most curious about. The college or major you choose is not going to be the final verdict on your career or life anyway. So test yourself and explore the infinite possibilities you have ahead. At the time, I wanted to become a translator/interpreter, so my path might not be the best example :) But this is what I would say to myself if I had wanted to become an artist when choosing a university.
If speaking of my experience can be of any more help: I’m currently considering enrolling in an art school to learn 2D animation 👀
Is your art AI?
No, it is not. Every artwork is a product of my own hard work and imagination.

Hello everyone~ I'm back with a totally new type of work :) I’ve always wanted to try 2D animation somewhere in the corner of my mind but never had the courage to do it. I never imagined I would end up drawing it frame by frame, but in the initial stages of the process I realised it was the best approach to bring to life what I had envisioned, despite my very limited drawing skills and complete ignorance of animation principles, perspective, movements, etc. I learnt a lot and certainly need to learn much more. I wanted to create additional scenes to provide more context, but it would have taken me another three months, so perhaps next time…🙈 (hopefully using a proper animation software for that ).
What do you think?
