Due to circumstances that were pretty much within my control, I am experiencing a particular kind of hearing loss where outside noises are all pretty muffled but any noise that comes out of my mouth like talking, singing, whistling or even breathing is so so so so much louder than anything else that I can hear. I'm really hoping that it will eventually clear up because this is kind of distressing as a person who likes being able to listen and I'm worried about the understanding and comprehension that I will struggle with as a result

I have very limited experience with someone being admitted to a hospital from the emergency room for a psychiatric hold but it sure seems like they pile on unnecessary trauma. Sure, let's put the person whose grip on reality is very tenuous already in a room by themselves without their phone and other belongings, and no support person at all! Surely this won't make them more scared and less likely to be truthful and lucid with the staff trying to get to the bottom of their problem

If there are any despondent recently heartbroken young men reading this, sometimes the girlfriend that breaks your heart because you weren't right for each other becomes somebody who can watch your kid so your wife can get a break while you go to band practice.

Life can be beautiful if you give yourself and the people around you enough Grace, apologize when you have to, and reevaluate your expectations to see the beauty that's right in front of you

Shout out to my friend who started drinking way later in life. I however had to quit out of an abundance of medical caution, and now one (1) yes just one whiskey drink as my "someone bought the band a round" drink has me still feeling sick the next day
