Still on Kentico Xperience 13? This is your wake-up call to upgrade | Zenesys
Kentico Xperience 13 has already entered its final phase. Since January 1, 2026, it's been in security-only support, and that ends completely on December 31, 2026. After that, Kentico stops issuing patches, fixes, or support of any kind, and the liability for anything that goes wrong sits with you, not them.
Here's what that actually means if your site is still on K13:
No more security patches after December 31, 2026. Any vulnerability discovered after that date stays open, indefinitely.
You already inherited a second EOL you might not know about. K13 runs on .NET 6, which Microsoft stopped supporting in November 2024. Unless you're on the Kentico 11 Refresh that moved to .NET 8, you're running on two unsupported layers at once, not one.
This isn't a version bump, it's a rebuild. Moving to Xperience by Kentico isn't a click-through upgrade like 11 to 12 was. It's a new architecture, a new content model, and a new delivery approach. Kentico's own Migration Toolkit helps move content, media, and configuration, but the project itself is closer to greenfield than upgrade.
Real migrations take 6 to 12 months done properly. Planning, technical prep, execution, testing, go-live. If that timeline sounds long, it's exactly why waiting until Q4 2026 is the wrong move.
Full liability shifts to you on January 1, 2027. Kentico has stated this in writing: security incidents, data breaches, compliance failures, all of it becomes your risk once support ends.
If your organization runs Kentico 13 in a regulated space, finance, healthcare, or anywhere handling customer data, this deadline isn't a maintenance item. It's a budget line for this fiscal year.
We've already scoped and run these migrations. If you want a clear-eyed view of what your specific move to Xperience by Kentico would take, happy to talk through it.
