My childhood was the best it could have been under the circumstances. It wasn’t great, but it is over. My early adulthood was similar, and it is also far behind me, now. I’m trying to do a typically Aquarian thing: Embrace the present and chase the future instead of looking so much in the rearview for portents, omens, ghosts and signs. The past is not always the best predictor of the present and future. I’ve long believed that if you face tremendous obstacle, it is the Universe’s way of telling you that you’re heading in a different direction than one that might suit you better. It’s not that it’s necessarily wrong, just that you might be ignoring one that is more accessible and good for you. And it might go against all so-called “sanity” and “conventional wisdom” to find it and follow it – and KEEP following it when you encounter neither obstacles nor fortune. Overall, I’m a pretty fortunate human being, but not for lack of suffering, not for lack of grit or determination or an obstinate will to survive. And not for lack of love, either.
