THIS was supposed to be a short list of headcanons to repay noted Swerve Enjoyer @i-starcreamed for all their writing. But. Um. This is actually part 1 of at least 3, and it’s already at … 1,500 words. So, uh, below the readmore, my take on Swerve with a human liaison who starts out as distant and quiet.

When Swerve got a message from his favorite human asking for him to come over in the middle of the night, he was not anticipating them to enter his alt mode on the verge of tears. Sensing the deep feeling, he decided to make the rare decision to not crack a joke immediately. “You good, buddy?” Swerve asked softly. The human’s face scrunched up, and they quickly turned to hide their expression. Then they let out a sniffle, “nooo”. The rearview mirror tilted slightly, seatbelt tightening around them. “What happened? ERRR– I mean if you don’t want to talk about it, that’s okay too,” he started. He was stopped by a stifled sob.
“I dunno.. I just.. I don’t feel alright at all,” you let out another sniffle, and Swerve felt a stray tear patter down onto his seatbelt. Well, he’s definitely been there. “Is there anything you’d like to do? Would you want to go on a ride?” he offered. Sometimes you just need a distraction. Just to do something– anything– to take your mind off it. Or at least, that's what Swerve thought would help. He’s definitely not a stranger to such feelings, and sometimes reading, driving around, or making little trinkets out of metal would help. But with the tears in your eyes, he thought riding around might be the best option. You gave a small nod, and he carefully left your driveway. Neither of you had a particular place to go in mind, but that was okay. After a while of driving, the rumbling and purring of his engine made your eyes grow heavy, tears slowly ceasing. Even if you still didn't feel the best, at least you felt a lot less alone in the warm, rumbly comfort of your bot.

Sweet Primus, is this actually happening? Swerve can’t keep his thoughts from racing as you yawn and land an arm around the back of his seat.
"If you’re tired, I can leave?"
"I’m not tired. Just getting more comfortable. Are you comfortable?" Your voice is so light and casual, like this isn’t the most intimate setting to be watching a movie like this in.
"Yep! Just super comfy! No complaints," he bounces a little in his seat, “This human couch sure is comfy!”
“Good, I’m glad you like the loveseat.” You emphasize the last word, and he can feel the warmth radiating off your arm behind him. Nearly blowing a gasket when your fingertips graze some of his plating. The sudden moaning on screen makes him jump as he turns back to the monitor.
A car make out scene is on the screen. Both humans fogging up the back windows, limbs in the air and bodies undulating to make the old muscle car rock side to side in the moonlight.
"So, do humans really do that or is it just a movie thing?" Swerve struggles to find something to take his mind off of how close you both are right now.
“Some of them, yeah. I mean I’ve done it once before. It’s best to do it somewhere nice and dark and secluded.” He can feel the weight of your description in his processor like lead.
Swerve optics dart around the room. Your room is nice and dark and secluded.
"I did a little digging. Don’t cybertronians do things like that too? I believe it’s called ‘interfacing’?"
"I mean yeah!"
“I see. Have you ever done something like that before?”
Swerve pleads with his fans to not kick on when your knee brushes his thigh as you turn to regard him. There’s a twinkle in your eye, but he moves too quickly to really believe it’s there. Nearly jumping to his peds he makes his way to the door.
“Oh, look at that! I just remembered there was something I had to take care of at the bar! I’ll see you later!”
Just like that he’s gone, leaving you with a funny feeling in your chest that you’ll definitely invite him over for a one-on-one movie night again. Soon.

I had the idea to make himb when the Ultra Magnus plushie was announced, and my ass went, “Hey you know how to sew, make the Swerveling” Thus a nearly six month project was born
I learned a few things like how to machine embroider, and it allowed me go make little beans on his feets

he speaks.
of course i had to put a squeaker in the most yapper cat what kind of person would i be if i didnt??
Anyways Ill try to get a coherent pattern out so you too can make your own Swerveling at home. 💜
