Stoned Supreme Court, The Presidential Election, and Llamas
So, in light of so many studies the US Supreme Court is going to hold a hearing concerning the classification of cannabis as a Schedule 1 drug. The Schedule 1 tite denotes that the substance in question "Has a high potential for abuse, has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, and There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision." So, in lieu of this, cannabis will probably be rescheduled, and rightfully so. It HAS an accepted medical use, and it IS safe under medical supervision, as has been proven by medical marijuana states. Although, as for the "high potential of abuse" part, it comes down to what you define "abuse" as, if you definition of abuse is "the substance is used regularly" then yes, it is going to be abused, just like tobacco and alcohol (but with less bodily damage than alcohol and tobacco). It falls under 1 category of that classification, the abuse part, but a foot and a trunk don't make an elephant, it's time to reschedule cannabis. Also in the news (obviously) is the presidential election; I won't spend too much time on this as this will be a long enough post. I hope Obama wins; the reason for this is because the whole "lesser of two evils" thing. I would rather have Obama who is a minor fuck up than Romney who is "Holy goddamn monkey balls coated in molasses" (creative terminology eh?) fuck up. I could go on with why I support Obama over Romney, but I honestly don't feel like it, as there is a movie concerning South American llamas that needs some watching. Which brings me to the last topic: Movie Night! Yus, I will be watching the Emperor's New Groove (again for the first time in at least 6 years), It's one of my favorite animated movies, can't wait to watch it again.
