CHAPTER 32: she's a certified mind blower
“You’re so pretty,” Sophia gently turns you around, peppering kisses over your cheek. “Was I too rough, princess?” She asks, voice softening as her lips press against your neck, leaving a smudge of lipstick on there. “You were perfect, baby, you always are.”
Her eyes light up, nuzzling into you. You put your arm around her, hers goes around your waist, keeping you close. You kiss her forehead, inhaling the scent of her shampoo. “Sleep, I’ll wake you up on time, it’s late.” Hoping she stays over again.
“I stayed over yesterday too, Missy’s going to kill me. They’re going to think I died.” You pout, pressing your lips against hers once again. It’s like Sophia’s brain rewires every time she tastes, she simply can’t say no when you kiss like that. “They’ll live, I finally have you all to myself after months. Come to bed.”
Sophia doesn’t dare to ask what any of this means. She knows it’ll break the illusion.
when shiloh unexpectedly quit the up-and-coming rock band katseye after they exploded on the scene with a critically acclaimed first album that was followed by a highly successful world tour, it left both fans and critics shocked as to why she would leave at the height of the band's success and popularity. unbeknownst to all, shiloh's contract wasn't renewed after being voted out and replaced by daniela's best friend, manon bannerman, by her band members. for the past two years shiloh has been dark on her public socials until she out of nowhere drops a teaser of her new single along with rumors of her releasing a solo album soon —right around the same time her former band will be dropping their third album. things are going to get interesting, especially when she has to start being around her ex, sophia, and the girl she left her for and was replaced in the band with, manon. fun, huh?

lara had been standing in front of the door to the practice room for the past ten minutes because she had come straight there after replying to shiloh.
not many things can easily scare lara, but this— talking shiloh after everything that happened between them years ago—certainly could be listed in her top 5 now.
she hasn't had a one-on-one conversation with shiloh in so long that she was afraid of doing or saying something wrong that'll bring up bad thoughts or memories for shiloh— it's why she's had trouble looking shiloh in the eye when they first saw each other again at ryujin's party months ago because she's let the guilt sit and pretended it wasn't there for so long.
her shame and guilt have festered for too long, and a lot has happened afterwards that has made things much more complicated for everyone involved.
specifically sage, lara, and shiloh.
with sage being shiloh's little sister, lara's guilt over what happened has somewhat eclipsed her love and wanting to be with sage because lara does not want to get in between siblings that had only just found each other, and she never wanted sage to feel as if she had to choose between being loyal to her sister or being with lara or making shiloh uncomfortable because she's around and with sage— it's unfair to both sisters, and lara doesn't want her selfishness getting in the way.
—you're right in a way… but it's also unfair of you to take away sage's choice. this is for her to decide. not you.
yoonchae's words continue to echo in her mind— cause she's right. lara's response is understandable, but she also should have let sage handle it even if it would have hurt just the same.
lara knows that there's no reason to stall this even more than she already has, but the fear of— she's scared. lara's scared.
scared of what shiloh would say.
scared that there's a chance she'll never see or speak to sage again— there are plenty of reasons that lara could come up with to explain her fear, but in the end it will still just make her a coward who didn't want to face shiloh or hear what she's afraid to listen to.
so before she could talk herself into standing outside the door for another ten minutes, lara opened the door and stepped into the practice room and almost immediately found shiloh sitting down on the floor with her back against the wall looking at her phone. shiloh looked up when the door opened, and she locked eyes with lara once she saw the girl walk fully into the room and awkwardly waved.
shiloh could see the nervousness radiating from the other girl and patted the empty spot on the floor next to her, "— come sit next to me before you pass out, lara."
lara nearly tripped over her own feet with how quickly she moved, sitting down next to shiloh and leaving a little room between them as a just in case.
for a while it felt like time stood still as neither woman made a move to speak first. lara was terrified of saying the wrong thing, and shiloh was trying to figure out what words she wanted to say and what she meant— both agreed on one thing, though— that this was for sage. shiloh just hopes sage won't be too upset with her for this— for not telling her that she was going to talk with lara, but she hopes doing this will hopefully be better for her— for her and lara both.
"so— you're dating my sister," shiloh made a face as she said that, still not used to the idea of her baby sister dating because, well, it's weird, and she can't figure out how it's allowed in the first place.
lara nodded her head slowly, "yeah... it's me— doing the dating thing— with your baby sister."
shiloh choked back a laugh as she dropped her head down— she had no idea why she found lara's answer to be funny, but she did, and now she has to restrain herself to keep the laughter at bay.
when lara noticed that shiloh's head dropped and shoulders shook a little, she knew that the older woman was definitely fighting off a laugh at her expense, "you're already making fun of me!" she pouted.
"you're already making fun of me!" lara pouted once she saw shiloh's head drop and shoulders shake a little, indicating that the older girl was trying her best to contain her laughter.
"no, no, i'm not—" shiloh's words are interrupted by her own snort of laughter. she really didn't mean for this talk— interrogation— about lara and sage being together to start out this way.
lara was still pouting, but the corner of her mouth twitched. there were plenty of things she missed when it came to shiloh, like how easy being around her was. shiloh has such a comforting, warm presence that made anyone relax just from being near her— and how empty it felt when she was gone.
it was their fault. all of it.
"i love her, shiloh—" lara said quietly, the words coming out of her before she could stop them. "i've never taken relationships seriously— treated them like they were temporary and just a quick fix to whatever itch i needed scratched and when it didn't work, i kept going back to him— orlando…" hearing that unfortunate dude's name made shiloh's lip twitch in disgust and her mind went back to that very first time shiloh and the other girls officially met him— she remembered disliking him on the spot but said nothing because she wanted to support lara's…whatever it is with orlando.
"i had finally broken things off with him for good, and to keep me distracted from it, megan and dani took me to this party adela was throwing, and i didn't want to go at first, but megan was right about me needing to get my mind off it— i saw her five minutes into the party, and at first— i thought it was you until she turned around fully and i— " lara's mind goes back to that night— the atmosphere— how loud the music was, remembering how overwhelmed and suffocated she felt being there. lara had wanted to leave the moment she stepped foot into the party— then she sage and all those feelings melted away.
"i got to know her, and everything started clicking into place for me— sage is— she became everything to me, and because she's everything and because i love her— i don't want her to choose me over you. i can't— shiloh i won't be the reason you lose your sister— i love her, and she loves me, but she's your sister, shiloh. your sister. i'm part of the reason why you—" she didn't finish saying it— lara just dropped her head, eyes focused on her hands that she had clasped tightly together.
shiloh hadn't moved or said anything, choosing instead to sit and listen while lara spoke. she'd hoped, and prayed, for orlando's downfall even when she hadn't spoken to lara for the past two years. every once in a while, shiloh would randomly ask about lara's love life and hope she somehow figured out a way to throw that man into a trash bin, so when yoonchae told her one day that lara had actually broken things off with that man for good, she did a silent fist pump— and continued to wish the worst on him.
but that wasn't what worried shiloh.
shiloh wasn't worried about lara's relationship with that man having any kind of influence over the relationship she shares with sage— she'd asked her sister plenty of questions about how lara treated her and was surprised that the shit orlando hadn't colored her perception of how relationships are. none of that worried her— some did, but it wasn't the main reason.
she worried about lara leaving and abandoning sage when she needed her the most.
will she sit by and watch her sister retreat into herself and do or say nothing? is she using her in any kind of way to get to shiloh?
will lara leave her?
lara's shoulders shook— shiloh knew it wasn't from laughter, and without thinking more on it, she reached out and placed her hands on top of lara's.
she didn't move closer, didn't lay her head on lara's shoulders— shiloh just placed her hand on top of the others.
shiloh may not have moved closer— but lara did.
lara moved the small distance between them— they were now sitting shoulder to shoulder. lara didn't push, and shiloh didn't push her away.
somehow it still was enough.
nothing was said for a while, and lara was afraid she said too much— or too little.
but then shiloh spoke, "i'm not going to pretend i find the idea of my sister dating, but that decision— you and sage being together, sweetie— that's up to her. you can't take away her choice, lara— no matter how much you want to protect her from the pain."
shiloh's being hypocritical with her words; she knows very well that she is because she herself is taking away the choice of knowing from sage— and many more— about shai's constant calls and messages.
the fear she had of josiah making an appearance when it's their mother shiloh needed to worry about—
"lara— im going to ask you something and you probably know what im going to ask you but i need you to tell me the truth, okay?" shiloh turned to look at lara, she knows the other girl will not look directly back at her but shiloh wants her to see how serious she is about the question she's going to ask.
however, to her surprise, lara moved her gaze away from her hands to shiloh's. "when you learned she was related to me— that she was my sister were you going to use that as a way to—"
"no," lara interrupted, and there was a seriousness in her tone that oddly made shiloh proud. "i was— i actually wanted to tell her about what happened— what we did to you right after megan told me. i would never use her or you— at all— even if sage and i were just friends— i'd never do that."
shiloh's squeezed her hand around lara's— she knew the answer to her question already because she believed sage. still, shiloh wanted to get the answer from lara herself.
"it's gonna take some getting used to being around you— being around you all but i don't— just know i will not stop you from seeing sage. it's never been up to me but her and only her, lara— i just need time to get used to you again... okay?"
lara nodded her head; tears were streaming down her face as she smiled at shiloh. nothing's fully resolved between the two of them yet— but it's a start.
and lara's grateful for it.
awkward.
that's what ryujin's been feeling the moment she came to the studio to record.
ryujin had already known about riot games being interested in collaborating for their upcoming league championship; however, what she didn't know was it was going to involve shiloh— and sophia. manon and lara are included, yes, but that wasn't what was making ryujin's jaw twitch in irritation, but the fact that sophia hadn't kept her eyes away from shiloh the entire time of the recording session. it would have been less annoying to her if it was just normal staring except that it wasn't— sophia looked at shiloh in the very same way ryujin did.
like she was in love.
like she was still in love with shiloh.
and then there's the way manon also looks at shiloh and the way you can see how visibly relaxed she's gotten when they were in the recording booth together.
it was infuriating to witness.
sophia— shiloh's ex-girlfriend— and manon— sophia's current girlfriend— are looking at shiloh in a way that makes ryujin's chest tighten, and she's not sure if it's from anger… or jealousy.
when everyone went their own way after being given a two-hour break to rest and eat before they went straight into rehearsing for the live performance, and when ryujin saw shiloh leaving the studio, she was going to follow behind her so they could talk, and ryujin knows she's being unfair— she knows that because it was her that said to shiloh that she needed space, and the other woman is doing what was asked of her, and yet, ryujin selfishly wants to talk and be around her.
so when ryujin saw lara leave a few minutes after shiloh, she was preparing to get up when the door to the studio opened and in came sophia.
without manon.
there's probably a logical explanation to why manon's probably not with sophia. either she's in the bathroom, delayed by a phone call from a friend or family member, or she's resting in one of the lounges that are located in the building because it makes sense to want to rest a little before you start rehearsals for stage performances.
except that's not what ryujin's line of thinking is going.
—did sophia come by herself to see if she could be alone with shiloh? did sophia figure shiloh would be alone in the studio? was she hoping shiloh was alone in the studio?
judging from the way sophia barely looked up from her phone as she entered the studio, ryujin believes otherwise, and from how she's heard about the other girl and her work ethics and how much of a perfectionist she could be, it tracks that sophia would come back to the studio.
sophia didn't appear shocked or even surprised to ryujin once noticing she was still in the room when she looked up from her phone; in fact, her expression was entirely neutral when she saw the other girl. she did acknowledge ryujin by nodding her head before settling into one of the chairs and returning to scrolling through her phone. all without saying anything,
ryujin doesn't know why it bothered her— but it did.
they weren't exactly sitting right next to each other in the chairs, but they also weren't that close either, where if ryujin turned her chair, she wouldn't bump sophia's knee with her own accidentally.
still— it was close enough.
"she hasn't moved on from you..." ryujin hadn't turned her head, but she cast a sidelong glance at the other woman. sophia's eyes were still fixed on her phone, but ryujin saw that her thumb was no longer moving on the screen.
she was paying attention— so ryujin kept talking.
"i don't know what all went down between the two of you, but it still affects her— haunts her, actually, more than she lets herself realize. it affects how she reacts to when someone— someone like me— wants her. but yet there's still something about you that makes her still love and want to be with you, even when she's unaware of it." sophia's grip tightened around her phone; the more ryujin spoke, the tighter she held it.
"it'd be exceedingly selfish of me to ask you to release the hold you have on her— for her to get closure with you so then maybe i can be with her and give her everything she deserves— but i can't. i won't— but i'm also afraid that she'll—" ryujin stopped talking; she didn't know why she was saying any of those or what her end goal is, but she had to say this.
there was one more thing ryujin did want to say, though, and that was when she finally turned to look at sophia, "you still love her too— don't you? even though you're with her— manon." there was no accusation or malice in her tone. ryujin simply stated a fact— a fact that sophia herself cannot deny.
because she's right— sophia thought. about everything.
i have loved her since i was six years old— i fell for her again when we found each other in high school. even when i hurt her and chose manon over her— i selfishly still loved her then. —and i still love her now.
and i don't want to let her go—

Practice felt weird that day, weird enough that everyone noticed.
Mostly because YN wasn’t there.
No random coffee appearing halfway through practice. No quiet check-ins. No suspiciously thoughtful snacks showing up after someone casually mentioned craving something once.
Just nothing.
And the room felt emptier because of it.
The girls probably hadn’t realized how they had gotten used to YN.
Sophia checked her phone again, still nothing.
At some point, even the messages had stopped showing as read.
Her stomach twisted uncomfortably.
Because YN always answered, always.
“Wait.” Megan frowned as she looked around the room.
“Where’s YN?”
Nobody answered at first, then Yoonchae decided to speak without looking up.
“She went home.”
Her voice was flat.
The room paused.
“…home?” Lara asked, blinking.
“For a few days.”
Yoonchae took another sip of her drink.
“She wanted a break.”
Sophia froze completely.
“Did—” Her voice caught slightly. “Did you talk to her?”
Yoonchae looked up and for the first time in a long time, she looked annoyed.
“Obviously,” she said. “She’s my sister, Sophia.”
Of course Yoonchae talked to her.
Sophia shifted slightly where she stood.
“…is she okay?”
There was a pause, long enough to feel uncomfortable.
Then Yoonchae sighed, like she was trying very hard to stay calm.
“What do you want me to say?”
The room went quiet because that tone felt new.
Sophia looked down.
“…did she say anything?”
“Not really.”
Yoonchae looked back at her drink.
“She doesn’t really wanna talk.”
That landed badly.
Sophia swallowed.
“…is she mad at me?”
Silence again.
Yoonchae rubbed at her forehead for a second before exhaling slowly.
“I don’t fucking know.”
Complete silence.
Everyone froze.
Because Yoonchae never swore.
Not like that.
Not seriously.
“She looked upset,” Yoonchae said quietly. Her voice was controlled, but harder than usual. “And honestly?”
She paused for a second.
“I’m trying really hard not to say something, i’m gonna regret later.”
“Yoonchae—”
“No.”
Still calm.
Which somehow made it worse.
“She was trying really hard.”
Flowers.
Food.
Remembering little things.
Trying.
“And then you started deciding what’s good for her without actually talking to her.”
Nobody said anything because she was right.
Yoonchae looked away for a second before speaking again.
“She still thinks she did something wrong.”
And suddenly Sophia felt sick.
No.
No, that wasn’t—
Fuck.
Yoonchae stood up and grabbed her water bottle, then paused near the door.
She wasn’t really looking at Sophia.
“Look,” she said quietly. “I love you and i know you got stressed about what people said on the internet. You panicked.”
And somehow that made everything feel worse.
“But that’s my sister.”
Yoonchae finally looked at her, actually looked at her.
Yoonchae sighed again, like she was trying very hard not to say something worse.
“So unless you fix this shit…”
She scoffed quietly.
“And honestly? I don’t even know how you’re gonna do that.”
There was another pause, then her voice softened slightly.

CHAPTER 31: you did a number on me (but honestly, baby, who's counting?) [WRITTEN]
“You’re fucking crazy,” Sophia growls out, phone already thrown away as she grabs your hips. Her eyes drop right down to your chest, asking for consent as if you didn’t quite literally send her a picture of you like that. Her hands rip the zipper, throwing it off, peeling the tank top next. God, she’s going to lose it.
Your hands grab her hair. “You love it.” Sophia’s mouth wraps around your nipple greedily, hand coming up to knead the other as she works her tongue around it. “What’s your little boyfriend gonna think about this, hm?” She smirks, looking up at you with needy eyes. She can’t get enough. You moan out in response.
“God, Sophia, I couldn’t care less right now. I need you to fuck me already.” Sophia doesn’t hesitate for a second. She grabs your waist, pulling you down on the couch. Sophia’s mouth leaves your breasts, kissing up your neck, making sure her lipstick smudges against every corner of your skin. “I hate him,” She whispers in your ear, and you chuckle. “That wasn’t hard to figure out.”
Sophia bites her lip, biting back a grin. “I wanna see you too.” You whisper, hands coming up to help her remove her top. She complies, raising her arms. Sophia loses it a little more as she sees you bite down on your lip. Sophia’s thumb drags around your waistband. “Can I?” Her voice goes soft.
“Sophia, take what you fucking want, I don’t care at all right now.” That got Sophia. Your pants came right off, followed by your panties, and Sophia lost all thoughts the second she saw you dripping. “For me?” She grins. You nod, already pushing her head down to where you want. Her lips press against your inner thighs, trailing up.
“You’re horrible, driving me crazy all day. And then you have the audacity to be this wet and still talk back to me? God. I hate you.” She rambles, and then her tongue flattens against your pussy. “Holy fuck, Sophia.” Your back arches, hands coming up to grab her hair. “Wrap your legs around my head, lift your hips, love.” She whispers, guiding you.
Her tongue rolls around your clit, pulling it in with suction, and lord help you. “Sophia— don’t stop. Fuck!” Your breath stutters, thighs pressing Sophia in place. “Tell me you’re mine,” She growls, slipping a finger into you. “What? N– Fuck.” You can’t seem to think through your sentences.
“Tell me you’re fucking mine or I stop.” Sophia slips another finger in, curling them both. Your toes curl, head thrown back. “I’m yours— I’m all yours, I promise. Just, please. I need to cum so bad.” You pant out. Your vision gets blurry. Her tongue doesn’t leave your clit, teases harder. Sophia’s so fucking satisfied.
“Does he make you feel like this? Does he fuck you like this?” Sophia needed to know. She wasn’t about to feel second best to a man like him. “Not even close, fuck–” You whimper, arching your back further. Your legs shake around her shoulders, “Sophia, I’m cumming, please fuck— I can’t, please, please—” You keep cutting yourself off with moans, because god she keeps curling her fingers and hitting that spot that’s making your vision blurry, and she’s so fucking eager with her tongue.
“Cum on my tongue,” is all it takes for your eyes to shut close, and mouth to open wide in a silent scream that turns into whimpers of Sophia’s name.
She doesn’t slow herself down, gently takes your legs off her shoulders and comes up to kiss you. It’s the hottest you’ve ever seen her— your cum dripping off her chin as she greedily laps at your mouth.
Her finger curls again inside you and you grab onto her shoulders for support, gasping out. “Fuck, fia, what’re you doing—” Another gasp. “Tell me who you belong to.” Her eyes get darker. “You, you only, I promise, god, please slow down— no keep going, just like that.” You become a babbling mess by that point.
“Yeah? You gonna let me use you? Remind me who you belong to every time you act out like that?” Sophia takes your nipple in her mouth again, making your toes curl. “Yes, yes use me. Fucking hell, fia.” Your moans are getting really hard to control. “I’m gonna cum again, baby, you’re so fucking good.” Your legs are shaking around her fingers, and she has to use her other hand to keep them spread for her.
“Cum, and scream my name while you do it, because god he could never fuck you like this,” She growls against your lips as you almost pass out from the intensity.

CHAPTER 30: i think there's been a glitch
a/n: guys when animal came out i searched it up on spotify to play it and accidentally played animals by maroon five. I GOT JUMPSCARED IM CRYINGG THAT WAS SO FUNNY
Daniela stood in front of the body mirror, smoothing over her dress for the fifth time. The dinner date was in less than an hour and her nerves were everywhere. “Dani, you need to relax. I told you, you look good. You need to stop stressing otherwise you'll age fifty years,” Manon groaned, flopping back onto the bed. Megan knelt down to adjust the straps of Daniela's heels while Sophia packed Daniela's purse with lipgloss, perfume, mints and other things she might need. “Guys it's not a date. We're just going to dinner,” the latina huffed.
“Says the one that lost sleep over this,” Lara shot back making Yoonchae giggle. When Daniela decided she looked okay, she grabbed the purse and headed out to the car. The driver was already waiting with the black SUV. On the way to the restaurant, she looked out the window and was lost in her thoughts. This wasn't a romantic date, yet her nerves were everywhere. Maybe she was unsure of what to expect, or how to act. After all, you were different than she last remembered.
The car came to a stop at a high end restaurant and the security team led her inside and to the table that was reserved for the two of you situated at the back. You were already there, checking your phone. God, you looked so good. Then you glanced up and noticed her before standing up to greet her. “Hey Dani, you look nice.”
She smiled bashfully and pressed a kiss to your cheek. “You look good as well, yn.”
The two of you took your seat and for a minute neither of you said anything. Soft music played in the background, and large fancy chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Even famous art works adorned the walls. “I've never been to this place before,” she whispered in awe.
“Yeah me neither. But Marlon told me about it. I had to book a reservation two weeks in advance.”
She let out an impressed hum, picking up the menu to look at it and while her eyes were on the menu, yours were on her, scanning her body; from her red lips, to the necklace around her neck. The dress gave you a view of her curvy body and you had to bite your lips from letting out a moan. Fuck you were absolutely gone for this woman.
Once the orders were placed, the waitress brought back a bottle of wine and two glasses. You popped open the cap and poured it in as she took one of her, her hand subtly brushing yours which sent tingles up your spine. “How have the girls been?”
Last week you had stopped by Daniela's studio with lunch for her and the girls wanting to meet them for the first time. They were all absolutely sweethearts, and exchanged numbers with you. “Oh they've been the same as usual. They were the ones that helped me put together this outfit,” she smiled shyly.
It sent a throb straight to your heart- that cute smile of hers.
The conversation shifted from work to nostalgia. She recalled the days where you would sit by the bleachers and watch her do cheer practice, while drawing or just playing games on your phone. At one point you attempted to draw her and it turned out crooked, but she still kept it. Then she showed you pictures of her prom dress and other pictures she took while you were away. It brought you both sadness and joy knowing that this girl had such a strong hold on your heart even after all these years, while also knowing she'd never feel the same way.
“Would you ever consider dating anyone yn?” She asked, her heart twisted unexplainably. “Honestly, I'm too caught up with my work to focus on dating but I'm open you know?”
Daniela nodded, stuffing her mouth with food. She even stole a bite of yours at some point, something she's always done. “Are you and Jonah serious?”
She nodded without thinking and then instantly regretted it but it wasn't like it mattered to you. Right? Daniela began yapping about Jonah and how they met. With every word that spilled from her mouth, your heart broke a little more each time. By the time she was done, you were fighting back the urge to scream. “Hey you okay?” she asked, her brows furrowing in concern.
“Y-yeah I'm just not feeling well.”
“Oh. Do you wanna go home? We can totally leave right now.”
“No it's okay. Let's continue.”
Daniela nodded and kept on yapping away. It was adorable yet you couldn't shake the lingering hurt from your heart. And when the tab came, you paid it this time, standing up and leading her back to her car. “Thanks so much for tonight. I really enjoyed it,” she whispered as she hugged you. “Does this mean our friendship is renewed?” She giggled, her nails grazing your cheek. Your eyes fluttered close at the sensation and you had to cough to cover up the little whimper that slipped out of your mouth but Daniela noticed it all and she smirked. “Still sensitive at the cheek huh?” She poked your cheek with her index finger.
“Shuddup! And yes, we're still best friends.”
She let out a loud cheer and hugged you, drawing attention from the passersby who soon recognized you both. “Oh my god! Is that Daniela Avanzini?!”
“And Yn Ln?!”
Daniela looked at you with wide eyes, “Shit we've been caught.”
Fans began flooding the area. “You know what? Fuck it.”
You signed autographs while Daniela had to be escorted away since it was something with the management and their rules. You took pictures and gave hugs before the crowd started clearing up. “You should've left,” Ronald- your security head, chuckled as he escorted you to the car.
“I needed the distraction,” you mumbled, feeling your stomach twist uncomfortably as Daniela's words about Jonah rang through your head.
How can she be so blind and not know that you still love her?

CHAPTER 29: i might just be in love [HALF WRITTEN]
“Ugh, you’re so weird Sophia, I’m kicking you out,” You whine, throwing your hands away from her. She giggles, picking you up, and dragging her back in your lap. “I’m too strong for you to do that, princess.” You scoff, raising an eyebrow at her. “I’m going to tickle you, then what?”
“Then, I’m going to get revenge.” Sophia tilts her head, breath hitting your lips, then her nails dig into your stomach and you gasp out. “Okay, okay fine. You win. Whatever.” Sophia smirks, finally letting go of you. “fia, can you do something for me?” Your eyes light up like the stars in the sky.
“Yes?” I’d do anything you want. Too down bad. Think straight, Sophia. “Can you get my guitar from there? I wanna show you something.” Sophia nods, curiously handing you the acoustic. “So, there’s this song…” Sophia’s heart beats faster in her chest. “I wrote this maybe like two days ago? It’s still very rough. But, I don’t know if I wanna put it out.” You continue.
“Why’s that?” She props herself up on her shoulders, watching from the couch as you settle on another. “Well, it doesn’t really go with the rest of the album, you know the theme of it. And no, no spoilers for the album,” Sophia boo’s you. “But I’m really proud of this, and I don’t know who to show, so I was wondering if I could… show you?”
“What’s the name?” She asks, and you shrug. “I haven’t come up with anything yet. It’s still in the beginning stages.” Sophia puts her hand up. “If this is another sad anthem I’m clocked out.” You roll your eyes at her. “Just listen first, then we can judge if it’s sad or not. Actually, I’ll just tell you. It’s not really sad. It’s just about… well, you’ll know when you hear it. Can you stop asking questions so I can start?”
“Yes, ma’am.” Sophia giggles. Your fingers align themselves, and Sophia’s heart beats louder in her chest. Maybe it’s about their friendship breaking up? Maybe it’s about everything that’s going on in the public with them? Could it be about Sophia? The fans sure seem to think you’re doing a lot of covers alluding to your relationship with her right now.
“Drivin' on the right-side road, he says I'm pretty wearin' his clothes, and he's got hands that make hell seem cold, feet on the dashboard, he's like a poem I wish I wrote,” Sophia’s heart drops. He. This is about— No. No.
“Oh, God, it's just not fair of him to make me feel this much. I'd go anywhere he goes.” You look beautiful. With the little smile on your face, the way your eyes are wide now. Your body moves a little, as if building up a rhythm on spot. Sophia’s nails dig into her palms.
“Oh, God, I'm gonna marry him, if he keeps this shit up. I might just be in love.” Sophia’s stomach twists. She covers her face with her hands. Keep calm. Be supportive. In love. She’s going to be miserable for days. Sophia feels her throat close up, she’s getting more and more suffocated the more she thinks about him.
He makes you feel like this. She just pisses you off. Fuck this.
“God, I'm so boring, and I'm so rude, can't have a conversation if it's not all about you.” Sophia’s noticed. Everyone’s telling her how happy you are. You’re telling her how happy you are. Yet, the selfish feeling is still there. Why not me? I can be better. She needs to focus, she decides to not pay mind to the lyrics, maybe seeing your enthusiasm would make it better.
It doesn’t, you just keep hitting her with worse.
“I apologize if it's a little too much, just a little too soon. But if the conversation ever were to come up, I don't wanna assume this stuff. But ain't it love? I think I'm in love.” Sophia needs to stop herself from crying. Her eyes are a little teary, she exhales, wiping them away before you can notice.
It’s a beautiful song. She hates that. He gets this. A mystery muse gets number one girl and dress. She gets… being blocked for a month or more. She feels the hope leave her body. It wasn’t meant to be.
“Did you like it?” You look so proud of yourself, Sophia can’t bring you down. She nods, patting the couch so you can come close.
Sophia falls asleep with her head on your lap that night.
