Q and A (Updated 2.0)

Decided to rewrite this post with the current lore I've shared for Q&A's which have been very fun to answer.

Main points: Discord and Andromeda: He never actually considered children until this point in his life and legitimately had one inside him. He ends up sort of rolling with it. He later admits he has not a god damn idea what hes doing, how to be a parent and that he's probably very unfit for it as his own insecurities and concerns came to haunt him. He developed massive doubts about being a father.

Had hid the fact he ended up pregnant by magical means for 7 months from the others

Despite his doubts he absolutely loves and adores his daughter. Hes very dotting to her.

Discords living the single father life with his daughter. Extremely protective over her especially with the fact shes the only child he'll ever have in his enternal life and Starswirl attempted infanticde.

Draconequii only ever birth one offspring in their entire lives. Discord being the only Draconequus alive produced his one and only child, Andromeda.

Andromeda has no biological mother. Discord's essentially both "mother" and father to Andromeda as he was pregnant with her. He created her via magic as all draconequii have done in the past via flux Crystal that they consume to gestate a baby. He wanted to experiment and toy with the concept not intending to actually commit to fatherhood. He inadvertently stumbled into it

He didnt really take the pregnancy serious until the physical signs started showing between 6 to 7 months months in. His initial denial of expecting a child he subconsciously ignored any early signs of it until he felt a baby kick. He was essentially forced to acknowledge his young.

Discord has commitment issues, more specifically around romance due to a certain ex-girlfriend of his who caused nasty trauma from abuse, using him, controlling him taking advantage of his powers. All of which translated into why it was so hard to maintain later friendships during his redemption arc. As a result he wants nothing to do with romance in the slightest.

Instructions unclear regurgitates his baby when it was time. It wasnt on his bingo card.

His pregnancy lasted 19 months. Draconequus are such an ancient species and magically powerful creatures they're gestation periods are longer than most. He experiences magical shuffled mode, meaning his magic has unpredicted outcomes he doesnt do intentionally. (concept of what I mean)

His cravings were the most out of pocket things ever much like standard cravings. Like a cosmic brownie made of the cosmos and certain meat related things.

Discord has zero intentions to tell Andromeda some old delusional unicorn tried to kill her when she was in the womb.

Starswirl planted the paranoia of other attempts to kill/take his daughter from him since he was so hell bent on it previously. Discord never leaves Andromeda alone or out of his sight nor will he let others near his wheezy baby. If he leaves his home shes strapped to his chest in a sling.

Andromeda was born with Bilateral vocal cord paralysis that made her struggle to thrive after birth she was lethargic and made little noise outside of her wheezy breathing.

Despite being seen by doctors they only alleviated her conditon slightly to a form of Unilateral paralysis the damage was too severe to completely correct. Discord took what he could get. At least she'd survive.

Andromeda mainly has a weak cry or a breathy/wheezy voice quality. A mild stridor; noisy, high-pitched breathing especially when upset. Some minor swallowing difficulties. Discord figured out how to manage and handle her paralysis rather well.

It will later develop into taking frequent pauses while speaking, often breathless after a while of constant talking. Voice straining and vocal fatigue.

She has ferret behavior tendencies; energetic, hyper-curious, high risk activity little kid. She is rather mild mannered and calm most of the time seemingly almost aloof she manages to keep her chaotic ferret like behavior tendencies in check. Just as whimsical and theatrical as her father

Andromeda often makes ferret "duking" happy noises whenever she sees her father she also has ferret behavior; energetic, hyper-curious, high risk activity gremlin. Alternating between wild, playful "zoomies" aka weasel war dance and incredibly deep sleep which has scared Discord more than once especially with her breathing troubles.

Shes also a bit mischievous and likes to stash things and is a bit of an escape artist at times.

Starswirl has made his distaste toward Discord and Andromeda is so garingly obvious, it's no secret of seeing her as an abomination that shouldn't exist. He finds Discord extremely ill-equipped, unfit, unorthodox, and far too irresponsible to raise a child. Starswirl doesn't believe villains can be reformed (especially Discord, Chrysalis, and Tirek). A sort of stuck in the old days and way of thinking. Unable to adapt to the current modern world unlike the rest of the pillars. He attempts to commit infanticde by poisoning Discord when he was pregnant. Starswirl never admitted to it nor was there any solid proof he did it when he did even when confronted.

Starswirl was never truly convicted of infanticde and disappointed the child wasn't a still birth. His behavior is now being monitored by the royal princesses after they visted Discord when his daughter was born

Twilight when she heard Discord magically conceived a baby she is extremely curious and especially keen on studying him this baby of his and his species as a whole. This is the first ever draconequus to be born in eons.

She had been reading up on typical pony pregnancy metrics and is comparing it to his blabbing on and on to him about it so caught up in the facts and statistics that she frequently ambushes him with questions, research notes, examinations.

Discord entertained her nerdy research begrudgingly he knows if he denies her she'd just pester him about it anyway.

He later adopts a pony disguise to avoid being seen by Twilight. It works for a several weeks until Fluttershy accidently admited this new pony Twilight's seen around town is actually Discord in disguise now wondering; Will the baby inside change along with him? Does she adapt to whatever he does when he changes forms or is she the same?? What happens when he does various movements like distortion, contorting himself, bending in weird ways, changing forms, transform into various inanimate things.... etc.

Seasons 8 and 9 do not exist. The MLP flim StormKing invasion happens within the au however I haven't decided when in lore it happens there are two ideas with various potential that I'm playing with.

Dromedaverse: Discord grooming lil baby Andromeda. Casually forgetting bathtubs exist and letting his animal instincts win.

Big papa Discord with his little newborn bebe Andromeda or "Pandemonium" as he lovingly nicknamed her.

He held her in his arms nuzzling and purring. Instinctively grooming her with his tongue. Andromeda was a quiet little thing at first, dazed and confused as her father bombarded her with unbridled affection laying there tucked into his chest listening to her papas purring.

Discord's extremely protective over Andromeda ever since she was born. After all the trials and tribulations hes been put through to even have her he wont let others near his wheezy baby especially after Starswirls attempted poisoning and the imprisonment scheme to stall her birth.

Starswirl planted the paranoia of other attempts to cull his daughter since he was so hell bent on it previously. Discord never leaves Andromeda alone or out of his sight, never accepting any sort of baby sitting or assistance from anyone. He was very protective over her after the hospital scare. Fluttershy was the main pony who had noticed this change as she sees him the most out of all of them and was growing concerned, he looked exhausted. He barely leaves his house.

Fluttershy stated to the rest of the group that she worries if he crashed from exhaustion for a few hours to days while caring for Andromeda, then she'd be helpless without him

Twilight and the girls hadnt seen Discord in a little over 3 1/2 weeks. They tried the front door and got no response. They tried looking through the windows but they didnt see him in any of the rooms they could see in the only room they could BARELY see into was his bedroom and there only looked to be some odd structure inside but no obvious signs he was inside though it was assumed. given it was the one of the few rooms they couldnt see into.

When Dash told Twilight about what little she could see into the room she then tried to magically unlock his front door. Fluttershy and Spike suggested that maybe they shouldnt disturb him. Spike adding that it seemed clear he did not want anyone to visit. However they all knew that if he needed help or assitance of any kind he most certainly wouldnt ever ask for it he'd rather avoid it.

They do eventually get inside and everything seemed as normal but quiet even for his house. The chaotic vibe seemed to have halted as random objects and things were laying in various places inactive. Fluttershy thought it very odd that everything seemed so "calm" worried it was similar to his almost fading out of existance. As they walked around his house checking rooms calling his name and getting no response from him. They go upstairs to his room seeing the door slightly adjar... when they walked in they saw that odd structure Dash described it looked like a little den they hardly could see him laying inside (Image above isnt representive of how dark it was.)

Stepping closer to the den they heard a guttural low growl they all stood there frozen they hadn't ever heard Discord growl before as they saw him lift his head up side eyeing them with green fire coming from his nostrils eyes glowing as he stared them down. Fluttershy immeditately knew this was a very territorial warning display. She tries her best to calm him down as they rest of them stand there behind Fluttershy uttterly baffled on what gotten him so aggressive that is until a little head popped up from inside the den looking at them.

It all made sense.... he just had his little baby. Discord's extremely protective over his newborn.

Dromedaverse: Birth of Andromeda

19 months along. child is due any moment.

After the poisoning Starswirl pulled several months ago Discord wouldn't take a second chance at being poisoned again he was only 9 months into it by the time Starswirl found out about it and made a twisted effort to stop his child from being born. Discord opted to not eat something or anything he himself didn't make after that and he had begun to get incredibly paranoid and concerned for his daughter’s health wondering if she’d be born with complications despite the doctors telling him she appeared in good health and they performed any medical evaluations they could for him when he was admitted in the hospital though there was no telling if she'd end up with physical deformaties or issues. He had effectively locked himself in his own home for a several weeks after that moment. His friends eventually coaxed him to come out of his house as staying cooped up at home isnt good for himself nor his unborn childs health. He eventually relented. As the months went by it made him grow more anxious and couldn't help but feel some sense of unease when the due date was getting closer. He absolutely wanted her to finally be born and had been looking forward to raising her but with Starswirl causing a ruckus about another "chaos creature" was going to be born and cause havoc made him concered how it would affect him. Ponies in ponyville didnt seem to really be bothered with his presence nor with the child he'd have however he was still widely disliked if not hated by most.

As he lay there curled up tucked into bed waiting for the inevidable with various blankets and pillows to get comfortable. He had felt her kick and squirm for a moment thinking the way he was laying was uncomfortable for her so he repositioned himself as he was repositioning himself to get comfortable he felt this lump in his throat sensation suddenly accompanied with pressure as he started salivating unexpectedly, with a bit of a bitter taste to it. When he felt movement upward, he instantly shot up holding his paw over his mouth as he coughed and gagged, shuttering at the sensation. “Ugghh oooohh what a horrid sensation” The feeling strongly intensifies as he then feels her push up towards his throat from his abdomen feeling her make her way up into his throat. He didn't expect this is how she’d be born of all the many ways he figured this wasn’t it. “ouughh…well aren’t you eager” he lowered his head to his paws when he felt her head in the back of his throat catching her as she came out of him in the most wild way possible. The long 19 months of waiting was finally over. He held his newborn in his paws looking down at her this wet little baby laying there all bleary-eyed.

Dromedaverse: Revised Conception.

Decided to revise Andromedas conception on how she was concieved. The previous method wasnt interesting enough and I've been tinkering with Dragonequuii lore.

Fluttershy made a comment one day when her son Red was playing with his Uncle Discord. The comment that started his initial ideas of a child. She was watching them and chuckled at the sight of them “You know Discord, you'd make a great father someday”

“Me? a Father? How could you demean me with such accusations? I have a reputation to uphold here I cant be seen caring for an infant, its not my type of thing you know.”

She playfully teased him for a moment about the whole idea. He knew she had a point and likely could see through his disinterest. He eventually ended the whole thing by stating he never considered children and that his species is incompatible to have children with others.

Of course he knew of the methods his species had to create a child through magical means and that both male and females can carry offspring. "Spontaneously" he decided to play around with the concept of a child he had some ideas on how he wanted to make them. He knew he needed to start the process by creating the equus-morula, a vessel of which is a draconequus offspring created via magic by its parent(s) magic; a similar process to surrogacy except created by magic and can be done so with only one or both parents genetics and magic. (ex.) Such as two draconequus pairs crafting their own offspring together using both of their magic. Once the morula fully created he has to consume it in order to gestate his offspring which magically creates a womb within him for the duration of the pregnancy of which it will cease to exist once the child is born.

When Fluttershy knocked on his door inviting him to Twilight's group event happening in 10 minutes about some cosmic phenomenon happening. He decided to pause what he was doing and go along with her to the event. When the Cosmic Event happens Twilight has begun to explain to them what the event is which is when multiple celestial bodies move into alignment called the cosmic convergence. During the event it creates a cosmic spectacle, the stars shine brightly over the observation field; the magic alignment of the celestial bodies creates crystalized magical gems that rain down like shooting stars; they are star fragments embedded with magical properties. She states that most of which touch down onto the ground are often used for minerals, metals, gifts, jewelry, and artifacts. Twilight had waited for this event to see it with her friends and even told Fluttershy when she saw Discord earlier that day to invite him while wanting to include him as a friend in the event she also had a crush on the lord of chaos making an excuse to see and be near him that evening. When he was there with the group he was simply thinking about other things and made general chit chat with the group.

During the event Discord was drawn to this particular star fragment that landed in the field they were in. Sensing some unique cosmic magic radiating within this fragment he thought that this would be an excellent addition in crafting his offspring.

After he had successfully infused the elements he wanted to combine together he looked at this equus-morula he could see in its early stage the stardust within, glittering constellations and what looked like a spinning galaxy with magical flares of chaos as he held the morula in his hands having finally created his child the only next step is to consume the vessel which will magically gestate the infant body using his genetic material and without really thinking this parenting thing through in the slightest, puts it in his mouth as he's about to swallow it. He hesitated,

Over the course of the next 7 months since Discord swallowed the equus-morula by accident having not thought this whole thing through when he crafted it had completely hid the fact his child was growing inside him he had effectively “hidden” any potential future signs behind magical glamor to avoid others knowing only when he was home did the magical facade cease....with his underlying commitment issues and insecurities staring creeping into his mind he didn't want to acknowledge it himself or let the others find out about it ensuring that when he was out with the others he simply acted as per his usual self. He had spent most of the time doing his own things to distract himself from the reality of parenthood through occasionally watching Big Red for Fluttershy or per the colts request for wanting to see his uncle even Twilight would occasionally stop by to hang around him, talk about magic related things or anything she came up with the excuse to see him, Spike and the others wanting to do D&D sessions as well as his own low-stakes mischief. He kept himself distracted for the most part to avoid thinking about it so much so that as the months went on he hardly noticed how far along it was.

Dromedaverse: Storm King Invasion(mlp movie)

Redrew this old doodle of the story concept that incorperates the movie into the AU. This may or may not change depending on how I intend to incorporate it

The events happen when Andromeda is 4 months old. Shit goes to fuck. Discord ends up getting caught in the mess.

Like the movie Twilights summoned the princesses at the canterlot castle, however Discord was asked to show up as well. He was going to show up at the festivities to help the mane 6 anyway but being told to meet in the throne room was peculiar nonetheless the packed up things he needed and dawned on a starry themed baby wrap and tucked in Andromeda who was napping at the start tightening the wrap so she had plenty of support he teleported to the castle balcony and walked in from behind the thrones. Empress Cadence, Queen Celestia and Luna were talking amongst themselves about the festival being set up outside the castle when they had heard him making his way inside in his usual manner interrupting their conversation the three of them finally got to see his 4 month old daughter after hearing the rumors a new draconequus was born. They spent time talking, asking questions and cooing at the little infant until Twilight finally came walking in much like the movie with her whiteboard of plans for the event.

When Tempest came strutting into the castle courtyards making her demands Discord and the lot of them were at the front lines. Cadence the first to go, then Celestia, then Luna. Discord had overheard Celestias talk to Luna about Hippogriffs much like Twilight heard. The difference being that he knew exactly who she was referring to however in the commotion of the invasion now wasnt the time to get into detail unless he risked being stoned himself.

When the Invasion actually happens Twilight and the rest of them all ended up washing away down the waterfall they fell down, Dash saved Twilight from being caught as Discord caused enough of a commotion with his chaos magic to stall most of the Storm Creatures though direct magic attacks were nullified by their weapons, tools and armory. He drew the attention of Tempest towards him he risked getting turned to stone himself. Though it was rather obvious he held a baby to his chest would Tempest be so bold as to stone someone with a baby? He wouldnt take any risks with his 4 month old. Once all the commotion set off she didnt know what to think of all the noises, screaming, shouting, she was utterly startled clutching his chest as tight as she could making a high pitched wheezing cry. He knew it was time to GTFO. The downside was Tempest had seen his antics and knew his power would be another asset to the Staff along with all the alicorn magic that she sought to take. He posed a threat to stop their goals.

He saw an opportunity to escape and he took it leaping from the broken bridge Twilight blew up and free fell from the height of the waterfall before soaring off down the river. By this point some of the girls had collectively assumed he was already captured as they had thought he was right behind them however when they washed on the shore of the riverbank he wasnt there and they had been contemplating for 15 to 20 minutes and he hadnt shown up.

Image below: is a much later scene idea of Discords capture. Tempest threatening to smite Discord for him interfering with her capture of Twilight and her friends both during the initial invasion and when Caper was attempting to sell them off before they stowed away on an airship. He got captured by Tempests and her Storm Army she had made note of his antics and devised a way to catch him. He still caused utter chaos

While Discord did initially go through the efforts to create his child and despite his early struggles/concerns about being a good father to his child he did very much want her alot of the concerns washed away the moment she was born. Much to everyone's surprise he's a fantastic father with the level of care and dedication he has for her, extremely dotting. Just dont call him a softie. He will deny it. He has a repuation to uphold.

Based on a question asked: At what point in the story did Twilight confess her feelings to Discord and he rejected her.

This happens in the very early struggles Discord goes through about suddenly being a parent. He does get over this hurdle not long after this. Twilight is the last to find out he's expecting a child only finding out after a failed courtship. Everyone else found out during the week leading up to this night in various ways.

Bros been in denial about having a child for 7 months mostly in part she didnt start physically showing until the 6-7 months he had ignored the impending responsibility of parenting until she had begun to kick him occasionally. Due to his own personal insecurities and underlying commitment issues he was contemplating how to handle it. Would he even be a capable father it didnt help that being only able to birth one child in his life he couldn't exactly justifiy ending it because he was foolish enough to swallow the crystal and it was a rather selfish motive simply because hes afraid.

When the others were down in the dining hall talking, having a laugh, enjoying food and drinks. Discord however was the only one who was outside on the front balcony of the castle leaning against the railing while it's actively in a light flurry of snow with a somber look as he contemplated his situation he’s put himself in with his unborn baby. Simply thinking, lost in thought about what he's going to do, trying to work through his own concerns, Twilight had realized Discord had left he was no longer in the dining hall she was hoping to get to spend more time with him tonight. When she asked the girls where he went since she had just returned with glasses of hot chocolate for them all. Fluttershy said she hadn't noticed he slipped away from the dining hall. Though she knew he should still here since none of them have opened their presents together yet.

Twilight then says she’s going to go find him taking both hers and his hot chocolate drink as she walks through the halls looking for him calling his name occasionally. When she reaches the upper floors she passes by the balcony wondering where he’d gone until she glanced outside and sees him there leaning on the railing a light dusting of snow coating parts of his body. She walked out on the balcony saying “Oh there you are” his ears perked up shaking off the snow before he turned his head to look at her as she asked why he's sitting all the way up here, away from the party outside in the cold? To watch the snow? Is he feeling alright? She also stated she brought hot chocolate to the party room and he wasn't there so she came to find him and bring him the warm drink.

Discord said he was fine, he just wanted to sit outside in the peace and quiet of the night watching the snow as he took the drink she offered to him. Twilight thought this a bit peculiar as he wasn't really known to just leave the parties and was always so jovial. She had sat rather close to him to ask if he’s truly alright as the princess of friendship stating this was unlike him. He simply reiterated his last statement adamantly saying he just wanted to watch the snow he rarely ever takes in the moment of things he assured her he was enjoying himself. She didn't want to press him further based on how he seemed to be so she let it go then asked if she could join him for a moment. He didn't protest her joining him so she sat next to him putting her hooves on the railing along with him.

She was mostly the one talking to him making conversation, he did respond to the conversation. She was doing little affectionate things like leaning on him for comfort, sitting next to him, even putting her wing over his back subtle things. She had read many many romance novels and having little courting knowledge she was attempting to pull some romantic stunt on him. He had looked down towards his otherside when she draped her wing over his back then at her when she put her wing around him as she was leaning into him. She eventually leads into a more personal conversation about how much he means to her nervously prattling on. He had realized where this was going and before he would stop her she admitted she wanted to be with him while pulling a mistletoe above their heads only for him to pull away from her his sudden recoil from her caused them both fall over as she was leaning against him. It was rather instinctive on his part once they sat back up he politely rejected her advances for romance citing he isnt interested in romance while it was flattering that she was oooh so charmed by him he didnt want anything to do with romance.

Cosmos would make his life an absolute hell. Having been betrayed by her ohhh so dearest lover and imprisoned for a few millenniums. She's bent on revenge for what he did. I envisioned this happening when he was 4 months shy of having his daughter. After a rocky start to his parenthood to eventual true desire to have his child he had been looking forward to it. From past experiences she was physically and mentally abusive, gaslit him, controlling behavior, belittling, blaming, jealousy you name it. The most vile creature hes ever had the misfortune of dating back then all came back to him in one foul motion the second he heard her voice.

He stood straight up stiffened wide eyed in abject horror, his hackles raised, ears pointed back, wings out stretched. He had his back towards her when she was speaking, instinctively he used magic to conceal his pregnancy in the hope she wouldn't know.

He had an overwhelming urge of fight or flight in his mind though it wouldn't help anything and she'd find him. She knows hes afraid of her uneasy, weary and a coward she expected him to run or submit. Surprised he actually had the gall to talk back and confront her this was new she knew he was playing an act he is far too much of a coward to do anything to her. She could break him

This would not end well and they'd end up in a real physical altercation something he probably shouldnt be getting into when hes roughly 4 months away from having his child but he isnt going to back down from his abuser either.

Based on a question asked: At what point in the story did Twilight confess her feelings to Discord and he rejected her.

This happens in the very early struggles Discord goes through about suddenly being a parent. He does get over this hurdle not long after this. Twilight is the last to find out he's expecting a child only finding out after a failed courtship. Everyone else found out during the week leading up to this night in various ways.

Bros been in denial about having a child for 7 months mostly in part she didnt start physically showing until the 6-7 months he had ignored the impending responsibility of parenting until she had begun to kick him occasionally. Due to his own personal insecurities and underlying commitment issues he was contemplating how to handle it. Would he even be a capable father it didnt help that being only able to birth one child in his life he couldn't exactly justifiy ending it because he was foolish enough to swallow the crystal and it was a rather selfish motive simply because hes afraid.

When the others were down in the dining hall talking, having a laugh, enjoying food and drinks. Discord however was the only one who was outside on the front balcony of the castle leaning against the railing while it's actively in a light flurry of snow with a somber look as he contemplated his situation he’s put himself in with his unborn baby. Simply thinking, lost in thought about what he's going to do, trying to work through his own concerns, Twilight had realized Discord had left he was no longer in the dining hall she was hoping to get to spend more time with him tonight. When she asked the girls where he went since she had just returned with glasses of hot chocolate for them all. Fluttershy said she hadn't noticed he slipped away from the dining hall. Though she knew he should still here since none of them have opened their presents together yet.

Twilight then says she’s going to go find him taking both hers and his hot chocolate drink as she walks through the halls looking for him calling his name occasionally. When she reaches the upper floors she passes by the balcony wondering where he’d gone until she glanced outside and sees him there leaning on the railing a light dusting of snow coating parts of his body. She walked out on the balcony saying “Oh there you are” his ears perked up shaking off the snow before he turned his head to look at her as she asked why he's sitting all the way up here, away from the party outside in the cold? To watch the snow? Is he feeling alright? She also stated she brought hot chocolate to the party room and he wasn't there so she came to find him and bring him the warm drink.

Discord said he was fine, he just wanted to sit outside in the peace and quiet of the night watching the snow as he took the drink she offered to him. Twilight thought this a bit peculiar as he wasn't really known to just leave the parties and was always so jovial. She had sat rather close to him to ask if he’s truly alright as the princess of friendship stating this was unlike him. He simply reiterated his last statement adamantly saying he just wanted to watch the snow he rarely ever takes in the moment of things he assured her he was enjoying himself. She didn't want to press him further based on how he seemed to be so she let it go then asked if she could join him for a moment. He didn't protest her joining him so she sat next to him putting her hooves on the railing along with him.

She was mostly the one talking to him making conversation, he did respond to the conversation. She was doing little affectionate things like leaning on him for comfort, sitting next to him, even putting her wing over his back subtle things. She had read many many romance novels and having little courting knowledge she was attempting to pull some romantic stunt on him. He had looked down towards his otherside when she draped her wing over his back then at her when she put her wing around him as she was leaning into him. She eventually leads into a more personal conversation about how much he means to her nervously prattling on. He had realized where this was going and before he would stop her she admitted she wanted to be with him while pulling a mistletoe above their heads only for him to pull away from her his sudden recoil from her caused them both fall over as she was leaning against him. It was rather instinctive on his part once they sat back up he politely rejected her advances for romance citing he isnt interested in romance while it was flattering that she was oooh so charmed by him he didnt want anything to do with romance.
