synopsis;

Those who go into the forest never come out. Gavrila and the rest of her other-wise mundane small town know this—or rather, they should. Every now and then, when the rumours die and time has distanced the town from the destruction the demon of the forest brings, a couple of idiots will dare themselves to enter and show up as bones along the edge of the creek a week later.

Gavrila is not an idiot. She won’t be entering the forest, no, but she will speak to the demon and killing for its attention isn’t out of the question; in fact, it’s her go-to.

As a child, she offered birds, squirrels, raccoons and her family dog. None worked. The only response that ever came was the ominous rustle of the bushes and the snapping of twigs as if they were crushed by hooves.

But now, after years of planning, she will finally get her answer.

He abandoned everything which made him, him—including Persephone—and thrown himself into a state of uncomfortable that, like a parasite, feasted on his state of being. He was an imposter, the lead actor in a movie about his own life, not actually Everett, and for what? Validation? From who? Certainly not anyone actually important?

No, right, it was just for me. How. Fucking. Selfish.

you look like you could use some sunshine

This is ridiculous, Kali thought as she sulked down the road.

So what if I robbed them last week? They can’t prove that. A girl still needs coffee.

What a bitch.

She pushed the door to the bakery open; the door slammed against the wall and made the counter vibrate. Every eye in the place looked up, but she was already at the front of the queue.

Nobody ever seemed to question how she did that.

“Coffee. Black,” Kali said, like the mere act of ordering coffee was beneath her. She tapped her fingers against the counter and waited. The man behind her in the queue took a tiny step back. The guy taking her order wouldn’t quite make eye contact.

Kali terrified everybody, and she was very okay with that.

But then the weirdest thing happened.

A girl with a smile like the summer sun stepped forward with her coffee. Kali would spend the rest of her life denying this thought, but that girl’s smile radiated sunshine and, for a split second, it made her forget what was going on.

When Kali finally took her coffee, she frowned.

“I didn’t order cake.”

The girl pushed the cupcake forward. It had yellow icing swirled on top and a small chunk of lemon poking out. Kali imagined that if the girl was ever turned into a cupcake, she would look exactly like this one.

“I don’t want it,” Kalie repeated.

The girl smiled some more.

“You look like you could use some sunshine.”

Her voice was sweet like sugar and Kali found herself staring once more.

The girl didn’t back down.

Before she knew what was happening, Kali found herself sighing and taking the cupcake.

“You’re paying for my coffee then,” Kali shrugged. She took the cupcake and her coffee and before the girl could blink, she was gone.

You deal drugs and punch assholes and I’m genuinely not sure that people are kidding when they say you killed someone, but that’s alright, ‘cause you also love pumpkin spice and horror movies and I’m pretty certain you have a soft side in there somewhere, demon or not.

I see no reason why we couldn’t be friends.”

She woke to the stars rehomed on the glittering expanse of the Elliot Bay, the water still dark beneath bright peaked waves under a rising sun. The band of the Olympic Peninsula eclipsed the incandescent horizon. When light trimmed mountain peaks in gold, painted the sky in broad strokes of color and touched her tangled sheets, the idea of love was easy to come by.

A journey into an ancient society of wolves with sulphurous origins through it’s dark underbelly and hidden crimes. A grieving royal family in shambles, mourning the lose of two princesses; one kind lost to flames, the other imprisoned– guilty for mass murder and sororicide.    The narrative picks up a century later as LILY is rescued by Guard Dogs, a disrespected profession of keeping rabid wselfwulves and their murders from being found. Knowing her father is held partially responsible of Princess Lazarus’ crimes, she desperately tries to keep who she is a secret. JES and ANDREI know something is off about the girl but unable to pinpoint what she is.    Meanwhile, wselfwulves are going missing and a strange followers rise for the imprisoned princess with belief that Lazarus will bring them in a new age without hiding.

with 15 minutes to spare before August starts, your girl, me, Jess, just hit her 12k camp nano goal for Death Count and i’m damn proud of myself. Like I got so distracted this month, i didn’t think i’d do it, especially considering I was only at like 5k  like the end of last week (the 21st not the 28th) . Only finished chapter one, wrote a handful of extracts for later chapters, started chapter three and have wrote most of chapter two. But I did it

okay i just did actual math, which now i’ve forgotten the actual word count, and it seems that i’m either less than 1k off my camp nano goal or just over 2k off it. I’m not sure. But i might actually hit my goal for the first time in forever!!!  granted my goal was between 12k and 15k and i’m near 12k. But my point still stands that i’m gonna hit my goal possibly tomorrow!!

I normally pick longer names than can be shortened into a nickname and more often than not the nickname is often the masculine version of the name. But it also depends on other factors like where it’s set and surnames and all that jazz. 

N: Do you hide secrets/easter eggs in your books?

Not that I’m aware of. But who knows I might do so at a later date. 

P: What’s your biggest writing flaw?

Besides not actually writing? My inability to spell and sometimes when two words are closely spelt but have different means, like quiet and quite, I’ll often accidentally use the wrong one and won’t pick up till ages later.

For six years now, Cat, Hanna, and Luka have been on their own. They live like most of their kind do in a world that wants to see them dead and hung up on walls: running, hiding, trying to survive on scraps. Town after town after city, all cruel reminders of the lives they could’ve lived if they’d been born different.

If they hadn’t been born wolves.

So when they find a boy who claims to have heard rumours about a cure, they want to find it—even it means sticking with Demetri a little longer than anyone hoped. Even if it means revisiting places and people the girls swore they’d never return to.

synopsis;

Everett used to see ghosts. Shadowed figures or noiseless people clothed with death–they used to follow him around. Sure, for a bumbling child, it was a little scary, but his mom had always told him that real monsters looked much less monstrous. Real monsters would weave their way into your life just to ruin it and, well, ghosts couldn’t. Not really.

Not when you’re six and no one even believed you when you–like the boy in that one movie–said, “I see dead people.” 


Mom believed him though. Mom listened as Everett went on and on about his ghost friends. How they didn’t bleed or make sounds. Some could talk, but some couldn’t; others chose not to. 
Like the man who grinned at him for too long.


His mom asked him, quieter than usual, what the man looked like and then, when Everett was done explaining, she told him to close the door in his head that let everything in. Lock him away.


Mom never told him why. Not even when he cried because all his ghosts friends disappeared too. 
But, as years passed, the sadness faded. Everett forgot. Chalked everything up to a wild imagination and films not suited for children. He thought his ghosts were long gone.


That was until the ghosts broke down the door.

not gonna lie, this lil excerpt from we found a boy in the woods perfectly encapsulates the Energy™️ of everyone (except hanna bc she doesnt say anything lmao)

The doors slammed. They settled into their seats, though the worn-out leather was burning Luka’s thighs. Fucking summer.

“How are we supposed to get on the dark web?” Demetri asked, turning on the ignition. Cold air blasted their faces through the vents.

Cat shook her head. “We’re not going on the dark web,” 

“Do you have any other ideas?”

“No, but we’re not going on the dark web.”

Looking over her shoulder, Luka smirked. Chaos swirled inside her, twisting with adrenaline. “We’re gonna hit the dark web.”

“How do you plan on doing that? Hmm?” 

Luka pouted, staring at the empty space between her friends in the backseat. They didn’t have a computer or the capabilities–in fact, realistically, the odds were greatly stacked against them, blocking the one lead they had with a brick wall. 

A simple thought struck her. She squinted. Maybe it wasn’t brick after all. Maybe the wall was made of painted Jenga blocks she could knock over. “Don’t skateboarders like anarchy?”

“Oh my god—actually, fine, that’s true.”
