since its likely i wont be able to pump out all the fanfic ideas i want before the next volume, heres a list:
— the obligatory “what if mike had been with holly and karen during the attack?” cause i love angsty mike and protective karen AND protective nancy ❤️ would def keep all of karen’s badass-ery
— immediate aftermath of sorcerer, but the military somehow retake the situation after(?? idk) and, to protect will(who is drained and half incapacitated), mike pretends it was him who killed the demos. how? dont ask me. but then he gets kidnapped and they run tests on him before the group saves him. i want dr kay to be more.. human?? esp for the moment where she realizes shes been testing on a regular guy instead of a superpowered guy. protective will(and el) all the way. parts inspired by el and dr kay’s meeting.. like.. the eerieness..
— immediate aftermath of sorcerer, mike runs up to will and hugs him, but(gasp) hes concussed!! and will(+ joyce) have to guide a confused and kinda delirious mine away from the battle field(featuring erica) and it would be mainly crack stuff but yknow
— obligatory mike getting vecna’d at some point(which, if it doesnt happen in canon, i could just make it after vols 2 and 3 anyway), but PROTECTIVE NANCY ALL THE WAY HELLO 🗣️
— fast forward to them saving the kids and byler + holly have a parallel to jopper + will in season 1!! then they somehow use the tunnels to escape(??) again, idk) and as mike and holly lag behind mike starts having intense versions of vecna’s curse(CRAZY migraines, rapidly bloodied nose, all his bad memories are flashing past his eyes), and holly alerts the group. will, nancy, and lucas all rush to his aid but arent able to do anything as he collapses in a heap of blood and tears. then his eyes roll back and turn white and whoop de fucking doo its another mike getting vecna’d fic
the two versions of the mike & holly & karen fics:
— mike somehow makes it to the house long before nancy and el(did he and lucas leave the crawl early? was it a prior commitment like babysitting his sister? idk i’d figure it out), and protects holly after karen tries but they both get stabbed/etc. karen stays conscious like canon but mike passes out from blood loss before nancy and el find them. queue them both waking in the hospital panicking about holly. instead of the “youre a sorcerer” convo happening on the field, will and the gang visits the hospital before the MAC-Z and mike tells him that stuff from the hospital bed(maybe high on pain killers to make it extra obvious? >:) ohoho..)
— mike is at the house(how? still, idk) and hes with holly while karen is protecting them, and they both freeze(?) as the demo gets closer. cut to nancy and el getting there and both the siblings are missing. surprise surprise, vecna stole both of them. when will gets his vision he sees mike attached to one of the pillars and gets extra panicked about it. things continue relatively similar to canon with a few kinda major changes but they save mike yadi yada.
back to the others:
— immediate aftermath of (guess what?)sorcerer, and a vine comes out of nowhere and wraps around mike’s leg before pulling him into the upside down(does it make sense writing wise? no. but for the angst). guess where mike, the heart, goes??? the center of the ribcage. he gets attached to the whole thing yadi yada and goes through the horrors in his mind
— kind of a rewrite of the first volume where mr whatsit also visits mike and has him on the same page as the other kids somehow(slight memory tampering? major mind control? who knows).. cause like.. what if the scene between mike and holly is a little more creepy.. holly is telling mike about her imaginary friend and instead of showing her holly the heroic, he tells her “dont worry. i see him too” or something. maybe later when the gang realizes hes on the wrong team one of them shows him the holly the heroic figurine and he remembers(a continuation drabble)
— ANOTHER mike getting vecna’d fic, except when he goes under the spell(after sorcerer? in the hospital?) he gets most of his mind wiped so the person in vecna’s memories is a six year old mike. henry gives him a lolipop and is like holding his hand as he guides him around the memories(never letting him out of his sight). max and holly(when they are escaping) come across mike in the one time vecna has left him alone, where he’s stuck in the swingset memory without realizing he’s stuck. they try to break him out but since hes so little he doesnt know whats going on and doesnt listen. max and holly escape and tell the group. somehow they bring back his memories and he escapes. idk
those are the big ones in my brain rn. the other fic ideas are either other fandoms or AUs that i want to write but not right now. alas.
