Went and grabbed some Chinese takeout earlier tonight and they threw in a free face mask. I’m super down with this. The quicker we normalize protective gear and practices the quicker we can move on from the stopgap that is social distancing and move on to the approaches that actually work (which require a whole societal/headspace shift). I don’t think there’s any coincidence at all that the countries that have been quickest to slam down this epidemic are countries who were hit hard by SARS and for whom wearing face masks to reduce chance of infection is not considered weird by their society as a whole. One of the last remaining bastions of totally legit downtown centre food court eats. $10.50 duck noodle soup at Soleil de Saigon (Place Montreal Trust). Ps “Downtown centre” is meant to purposefully exclude Faubourg from the rankings, which, btw, is back and which, btw is the #1 best food court in Montreal) Pps cinema banque scotia food court has lost numerous restos notably the excellent italian spot and Momoyama.
