Call for Submissions!

This is an official call for submissions for Batboy is my Son??? A zine about cryptids and bizarro/tabloid writing coming soon from Zines From A Town Press! 

We are accepting poetry, prose, nonfiction essay, traditional and digital art, photography, and digital mix tapes for publication within the zine in digital medium that approach the theme of cryptids, weird 'created by tabloid' creatures, obviously made up creatures/tabloids, bizzaro and tabloid writing, and how Batboy is your son. All ratings of material are accepted, including mature.

The deadline to submit to this project is October 13th 2020. All submissions can be sent to [email protected] with the subject line Submission: Your Name.

Zines From A Town pays using a socialist pay structure based on content contribution divided equally between contributors and has first electronic rights for publication which then revert to the author/artist 6 months after publication date. Payment is distributed on the 13th of each month via Paypal.

In carpet, yes, MUCH harder, but given that the lab has tile (admittedly acid marked and pitted tile) it’s not as bad cause I can magnetize to the sheet metal in between the layers of floor. It’s still not out of all the grout though...

Oh wow yes! I was purchased initially by AD at Goddard and then retrofitted to be capable of cleaning in the weird environments there then stuffed on board the Hephaestus mission when the time came due to my capabilities! I spent a good deal of time cleaning around stools, and dark matter dripping into the carpet, *vrr* good times! Good times!

That was definitely not one of the rules, I just thought it was good advice in general. For anyone who’s going to spend a long time in space.

I think some of the rules about operating heavy machinery might apply to you, though. I think there was one in the 700s about not being under the influence of too many intoxicants when engaging in delicate maneuvers? So, I guess, don’t overindulge in the AC before you clean the outer hull of the station. A few intoxicants can be beneficial in setting the mood, depending on what sort of delicate maneuvers you’re intending. But it’s important to know where the line is!

Yeah, friends are best! And I’m glad I have so many friends!!!!

I really should not lift anything, I have one little arm but that’s mostly for lifting the edges of curtains so heavy lifting is not my thing. And AC can help me get the job done but I’m not the kind of roomba to do drugs! Pure filtered power for me thanks! Having a dirty connection got a friend of mine killed back in the factory. Crazy kid.

SO what kind of an education do you have? I never went to school but it seems like lots of fun, but also really inefficient?

That’s a really tragic story! You should record a testimonial or a WHMIS video about the dangers of unsafe power use that they can show at the factory. Think of all the little roombas who might not know any better, who might think it’s a harmless indulgence once or two and then they get hooked and before you know it they’ve fallen down the slippery slope and are vacuuming up cigarette butts in public washrooms. Preventing tragedies is why we wrote the procedure protocol manual.

That and Cutter told us to do it, and you don’t piss off Cutter.

I have a PhD in Astrophysics. So did Carter. Humans don’t have any better way to learn things.

Well, I may have already done that! I was interviewed when it happened for a safety training video for staff and new models, but I don’t know if that went anywhere. That was before I was sent to Goddard for modification for the mission, but it’s definitely me! I know that before then I didn’t really know much about unsafe power usage, because it’s definitely something we need to function but dirty power is a thing!

Was that cigarette jab at me? I totally smoked once because of that (it was outside in the staff smoking area, but still). But maybe you should be a little more inclusive for us AI folks in the next edition of the manual! I know it’d be a lot more engaging if I knew that there were some tips in there for me especially.

Cutter is… a scary man. I tried to be his friend but then he was a little creepy and I thought it’d be best if I didn’t…
