Person who wants to do stuff trapped in a body that needs to lie down
Can't express how stress free being open minded is.
Some lesbians use he/him? Oh cool.
Some people have people inside their head and sometimes it's fictional chars? Sick your brains like a pirate ship they're all working to run.
Some people like being treated like a pet dog? Bark bark bro.
Being fat isn't unhealthy but a perfectly normal type of body to have? Kinda beautiful how different we can all be.
Something doesn't make any fucking sense? Cool an opportunity to learn. And even if I can't figure it out it's cool we still have mysteries today.
It's just... idk man. People are weird. Being a person is weird. Society is weird. The universe is weird. Rather than having to "normalize" everything, just accept that some people are weird. So are you. Nothing is normal. the rules are all made up. I once saw a Klingon pushing a baby stroller down the street in toronto. The world is a weird place, man. Just roll with it.
"nobody is judging you" wrong, my mother is seemingly always judging every single stranger she sees
reading the symptoms of autism as a now grown adult after being bullied for no explainable reason all your life
I know people love to think of ADHD as justĀ āhaha fun disorderā and being distracted and ditzy. But neurotypical people will never know the legitamate stress and pain of losing track of items in seemingly a second, all day, every day.Ā
I set down my phone? Itās gone. I spend twenty minutes looking for it while on the border of tears because I just want my phone. Itās on a shelf three feet away, I canāt see it.Ā I canāt trust myself to keep track of anything. I see a text? Itās gone the second I look away. I ghost someone for days and every time I remember I feel terrible.
Itās incredibly stressful! I know itās easy to reduce something to simple terms, but please remember that it isnāt that simple. ADHD effects a persons life every waking moment. Lets not dimish the impacts.Ā
Iām watching that documentary āBefore Stonewallā about gay history pre-1969, and uncovered something which I think is interesting.
The documentary includes a brief clip of a 1954 televised newscast about the rise of homosexuality. The host of the program interviewed psychologists, a police officer, and one āknown homosexualā. The āknown homosexualā is 22 years old. He identifies himself as Curtis White, which is a pseudonym; his name is actually Dale Olson.
So I tracked down the newscast. According to what I can find, Dale Olson may have been the first gay man to appear openly on television and defend his sexual orientation. He explains that thereās nothing wrong with him mentally and heās never been arrested. When asked whether heād take a cure if it existed, he says no. When asked whether his family knows heās gay, he says that they didnāt up until tonight, but he guesses theyāre going to find out, and heāll probably be fired from his job as well. So of course the host is like ā¦why are you doing this interview then? and Dale Olson, cool as cucumber pie, says āI think that this way I can be a little useful to someone besides myself.ā
1954. 22 years old. Balls of pure titanium.
Despite the pseudonym, Daleās boss did indeed recognize him from the TV program, and he was promptly fired the next day. He wrote into ONE magazine six months later to reassure readers that he had gotten a new job at a higher salary.
Curious about what became of him, I looked into his life a little further. It turns out that he ultimately became a very successful publicity agent. He promoted the Rocky movies and Superman. Not only that, but get this: Dale represented Rock Hudson, and he was the person who convinced him to disclose that he had AIDS! He wrote the statement Rock read. And as we know, Rock Hudsonās disclosure had a very significant effect on the national conversation about AIDS in the U.S.
It appears that no one has made the connection between Dale Olson the publicity agent instrumental in the AIDS debate and Dale Olson the 22-year-old first openly gay man on TV. So I thought Iād make it. For Pride month, an unsung gay hero.
RATING: RELIABLE

Being Neurodivergent
Being Neurodivergent is being predisposed to mood disorders/mental illnesses and no one ever talking about it
Being Neurodivergent is having your special interests/hyperfixations repressed by your family for your āown protectionā despite those things being your only form of comfort or satisfaction
Being Neurodivergent is having teachers refuse to give you your accommodations because youāre āhigh functioningā or āyouāre not really disabledā
Being Neurodivergent is having your siblings call you weird/a freak/disabled (with an offensive tone - being disabled in itself is not a bad thing)/annoying/ useless/completely helpless
Being Neurodivergent is doing what people tell you, but still doing it wrong because they werenāt specific enough
Being Neurodivergent is breaking down sobbing in the middle of shopping because everything was too much and you couldnāt process anything correctly/plan what you were going to do next
Being Neurodivergent is having everyone know something is wrong/different with you from the time you were an infant but never getting a proper diagnosis out of fear that youāll be held out of honors/ap classes
Being Neurodivergent is having to hide checklists of ābrush teethā and āput books in backpackā when your friends come over because you simply cannot think through those steps on your own
Being Neurodivergent is being more susceptible to people using/abusing/manipulating you but not having anyone ever talk about it
Being Neurodivergent is losing friends because once they move on from a an interest that is your special interest/hyperfixation and they get sick of never being able to discuss anything else
Being Neurodivergent is constantly having people think youāre lying/are guilty of something because you canāt make eye contact
Being Neurodivergent is having to suppress yourself, hide key parts of yourself away, and remodeling every little bit of yourself for the neurotypical world you live in, and then being told itās your fault when that facade fails, and it freaking sucks

If college students got their money back for each class they got an A in, colleges would have a much higher average GPA.
