Liliana was truly free.

She woke up the next morning in her own apartment. Made her own breakfast in her own kitchen and watched tv in her own living room. She may not have had a lot, but she was happier than ever.

She was becoming quite a charismatic young lady.

Liliana had become passionate about a cause called World United and joined the political career track in hopes of becoming a successful charity organizer.

Liliana was fully embracing the next phase of her life. She was ready to leap into the next step. Unfortunately for her, Daisuke was not quite there yet.

It hurt, but she knew he cared as much as she did at the end of the day.

Plus, she would get him sooner or later.  ;) 

Being an adult meant making her own decisions. She went to her mother and quit the Newcrest Fellowship. Liliana couldn’t stay cooped up here knowing she could have a real life out there.

Liliana was off to the city to chase her dreams. She was going to get involved in events, meet people, and make a difference somehow.

I bet Daisuke will be visiting quite often once the place is a bit more furnished.

Matilda

While her life was never the greatest she was overall a happy-go-lucky kid.

Her mother passed of old age when she was still in Elementary school. She had never really been able to get close to her father before so it was going to be that much more difficult for her from now on.

Matilda was always happiest when spending time with Liliana. They shared a birthday when she was aging from child to teen. Liliana had baked the two of them a cake to share.

Liliana becoming an adult meant she would be able to take over the cult soon. This could drastically improve Matilda’s quality of life. She was depending on it.

The teen years were going to be the best yet for sure! She would be able to fend for herself much more easily. Now that she could team up with Liliana she was sure the two of them could turn things around.

Sorry for disappearing. Have some Harvestfest as an apology?

This year’s Harvestfest fell on a Thursday. It wasn’t right to skip out on traditional holy day activities. (Especially since it was hardly acknowledged these days.)

Krysta fumbled her way through things a bit, but it was good to see everyone back in the meditation chapel again. Truthfully I had really missed the old days and watching things fall apart was surprisingly challenging.

Liliana made a grand meal for everyone to enjoy during the free time they had between the morning services and that evening. She seemed to love cooking.

Most of the commune had no concept of time anymore. Out of all the adults only Griffin bothered to show up on time for dinner.

Teens will be teens right?

Easily sneaking out as she pleased it didn’t take long for Liliana and Daichi to become an item.

With both relationship bars maxed out, the two were crazy for each other. Daichi was the first and only friend Liliana had ever made. He had grown up to develop the genius trait as a teenager.

BFFs and Partners in Crime they were always together. It seemed over time Liliana had somehow become the bad influence haha.

The more she got out and about the happier she seemed. I started to feel guilty for how I had allowed things to become with Krysta. I guess in a way I used Liliana to help my conscience by having her spend so much time with Matilda.

I realized if I were true to Liliana’s character that she would never take over as successor of the cult. It was time to figure out a new plan.

Liliana and Matilda aged up!

Unfortunately their birthdays were completely ignored by the adults of the cult. It had been a while since the Fellowship had properly gathered for anything.

Matilda had latched on to Liliana some time ago. She was definitely in for a better childhood just having someone around to make dinner and keep things somewhat functional.

Liliana took it upon herself to make the commune livable again. She built up handiness..

....kept things cleaner....

....taught herself to cook...

....and held her own personal Thursday services in honor of what should have been her grandmother Claire’s legacy.

The Never-ending Party

Leaving the kids to their own devices, the adults had completely lost any sense of responsibility. They were in a perpetual party state.

Sleep schedules were non existent. It wasn’t uncommon to find someone passed out somewhere or snoozing on some random furniture.

Poor Claire having to return to find things in such a state and poor Liliana for having been so suddenly abandoned by those closest to her.

Thankfully there were a few responsible souls left to help her life from completely stinking. (Puns intended heh.)

Things at the commune were getting dire, especially for the children. Poor Matilda was almost completely ignored and left in filth.

I’ve honestly never seen two worse Sim parents in the god knows how many hours of Sims I’ve played than these. It was so difficult to let things play out and not intervene.

Thursdays were for the most part forgotten as well. They would show up for a speech and a quick meditation session before wandering off back to the karaoke bar. Griffin had remained the most devout to his mother’s creation.

Krysta seemed completely unphased by the state of things.

We can only hope Liliana’s reign will bring some order back to things.

Daichi: The Elementary-aged Insider

Another day of playing hooky, but this time Daichi proposed they go to a nightclub. Of course Liliana would go anywhere for a day with her only friend.

The two of them were getting pretty close, but I was starting to worry that this boy might not be a good person for her to run around with. Skipping school was bad enough, but something about elementary kids dancing at the club rubbed me the wrong way.

I wonder what her parents would think if they found out. Could they really expect her not to lash out when all they do is party though?

Mason Franklin was in impeccable shape. He long outlived the other founding members of the Fellowship, but everyone’s time comes to an end.

Things got even dirtier with his passing. He at least had tried to keep up with some of the mess. Now no one was left to care.

Claire would sometimes come back to clean up a bit. It was kind of pathetic really that the dead were being more responsible than the living.

Lots of nights you will see her out in the garden, still talking to the plants.

Krysta’s obsession with making every day fun meant life in the commune had taken a 90 degree turn. It was a literal never-ending party. Even Claire showed up one night!

The garden was deteriorating from lack of care. Trash was left on the ground and ignored. Broken objects weren’t being repaired for long periods of time.

Suddenly Liliana’s perfect life was dirty and lonely. She wasn’t allowed in the karaoke bar and it seemed like the others hardly came out of there these days.

A boy in her class convinced her to play hooky with him at the ancient ruins one rainy summer day. (Luckily it was still very warm outside.)

Since they were already soaked they might as well have a water balloon fight right?

Liliana was finally being a kid again. I’d never seen her act so goofy. Normally she was playing violin, cleaning, or doing extra credit work for school.

Playing hooky isn’t exactly how I’d like her to spend her time, but technically her parents have no idea so I decided to let it play out for a while and see where this friendship leads.

Liliana Rosenberg

The sterile, empty childhood of Krysta’s youth made her approach things differently once she had her own. She had memories of white and gray. Drywall, concrete, white dresses, white shoes, everything plain and empty. They were poor and didn’t have all the things they needed. Because of this, she chose to allow more fun and color into Liliana’s life.

While she chooses to wear a simple white dress most of the time, after all this is what she’s used to being around, she does have other outfits (like her pj’s) with a bit more color. Krysta made sure her communication skills developed early and she grew up to be a very social and confident little girl.

Always surrounded by love, Liliana has never known any hardships. Her life is happy and leisurely. With no possible competition she would of course one day succeed her mother and become the Fellowship’s next leader.

Krysta, being a music lover, had decided that everyone should learn to play intsruments. Liliana was expected to be a child prodigy on violin. Luckily she enjoyed playing the instrument quite a bit.

A music room was constructed just off the grand hall where part of the community room used to be. Everyone was suddenly busy practicing music. They were singing and life was beginning to return to the commune.

Speaking of the grand hall; it had recently been renovated as well. In fact, Krysta was completely redoing most of the property.

The depression she had sunken into after the passing of a dear family friend, her lifelong role model, and her mother had triggered something in her. There was no time to waste being sad anymore. It was time to live.

The old community room was completely gone. In it’s place stood a vibrant karaoke bar.

Gardening, cleaning, and working out were no longer cult requirements. The internet, gaming, and more were no longer banned. Now the focus was music and fun. Drink juice, sing songs, play instruments, meditate, and be happy!

After three deaths in two days, the commune was pretty somber for a while. Krysta took the longest to bounce back by far.

Liliana’s birthday was here, but Krysta just didn’t have it in her to be cheerful. (I swear I didn’t almost cry watching this play out. >.> )

She slipped away to mourn her mother, wishing she could still be here.

Of course, good ol’ Dad noticed and came to comfort her with a much needed hug.

Newcrest Fellowship Leaders’ Mausoleum

You may have noticed the tiny building in the back of the cemetery you see in my last post. It opens immediately to a double wide stairway that leads to a stone hallway underground. This is where the cult’s leaders will be memorialized in death.

I wanted to honor Claire as the founder by giving her a very elegant room that made you feel her personality and presence.

With the sound of water gently emanating form the wall fountain, the natural light of the candles, and the numerous plants around the room, it had really become quite a peaceful resting place.

With so many elderly Sims so close in age, Grim has been a frequent visitor of ours recently.

We very suddenly had need of a graveyard of some sort so I decided to make the meditation chapel it’s own building (connecting the community room to the grand hall instead) and build the graveyard behind it.

Summer, being the oldest, was the first to pass. The commune was immediately enveloped in a deep depression.

Later that night, Kim (Krysta’s mother) collapsed in her living room. Things were getting kind of depressing..

Even Grim was getting bummed out hanging around here.

Krysta’s Portrait

After Claire’s portrait had turned out so well I decided to make it a traditional thing for the leaders to do. Sometime during their reign they will all have a portrait painted and hung in the grand hall.

I start getting excited when the painting is finally in progress. This looked promising!

I feel like the paintings really capture the difference in personalities and style. I think the wall is going to look really cool in a few generations and it’s a cool way to keep track of the timeline as things progress.
