Tbh it depends on what you consider a normal date. If you mean like cafes, walks or these kind of pretty chill activities, then yes. But that's if Jamil organizes. If it's Floyd, I can totally see him taking Jamil to do some activities, mostly extremes, on a whim as a date. Like karting, amusement park...you name it. But later in their relationship, they'd find a middle ground and will be able to have normal dates which fit both's tastes
for context, I was working on this drawing since early January, it was supposed to be for New Year, a bit late but wtv. Except that now I can't open the drawing at all. Everytime I try, the app crashes. I'm so frustrated because I had already spent 12 hours on it and it's still far from over...I'll probably restart it, find any ways to continue it, but this seriously killed my mood to do it for now.
Jamil lets out a small sigh, sitting at the far end of a tiered table in class, one hand resting on the place beside him to prevent a certain octopus from sitting there. Jamil isn't really in the mood at the moment; he got up on the wrong side of the bed, something which happens sometimes but never pleasant.
Today it's mixed classes, his class with another one. He couldn't care less about that, at least until he incontestably spotted the teal hair he knows well entering the classroom, not to be confused with another. He unconsciously withdraws his hand from the place next to him, holding back from calling for Floyd, he has his pride.
Fortunately, this one remarked Jamil regardless of his place in the shade of the room, and pranced over with a grin before settling down beside him. Floyd leaned on his elbows over the table, his gaze meeting the snake's one, like he's scrupting inside the snake. They exchange a smile but Jamil does not pursue with a discussion, not wishing to impact on Floyd's positive mood with his own poor one.
The lesson began and the hubbub in the classroom died down, replaced by the sound of the pen tip against paper. Jamil focused on the teacher's words and the board or more like, tried to. His mind harked back to the nearby presence every time, he can smell the faint odor of the depths of the ocean mixed with perfume. The one that makes his heart feels funny. The snake huffed in annoyance, how can he let himself be so easily distracted.
Floyd finally stopped spinning his pen on his fingers, turning his attention to Jamil. He had noticed from the beginning the sour expression on his Sea Snake's face, although he had tried to conceal it at the sight of the moray. He had held back from speaking to him for this reason, but now he was beginning to grow impatient with the lack of improvement in Jamil's mood.
Others don't switch from one emotion to another as quickly as he does, and he knows it. He needed to comfort his boyfriend, but how? In a context where silence reigns, bringing a little peace to Jamil's sourness, talking to him would only make it worse. Then any physical affection in full public is out of the question. He gets an idea after looking at the pen between his fingers.
He nudged Jamil's arm with his own to make room and brought his hand to the corner of Jamil's notebook page, earning a small gasp from the snake, not only annoyed but worried that Floyd would draw something ridiculous, already happened once. With blue ink, he drew a circle, then added eyes, a nose, and a smile. Jamil visibly relaxed when he saw that it wasn't what he thought, but remained bothered by the moray's nerve to draw on HIS notebook, yet he lacked the will to stop him.
Floyd added a body and clothes to the character, but didn't dwell on it. He switched to red ink and drew another circle, eyes, a nose and a soft smile he'd like to see on his muse. Despite the simplistic style, he made sure to incorporate details he knew perfectly in his head.
Jamil let his arm fall to his side to give the other one more space. He had let Floyd do his thing, but when he saw the second character, his eyes remained on the page, momentarily forgetting the lesson, the warmth he's grown accustomed to feeling rising in his cheeks. It's stupidly cute and the frown on his face didn't stop his lips from curving upward.
Floyd added a small heart above the two characters' interlinked hands. There was no need to look up to know he had succeeded in cheering his Sea Snake up.
Ouuh i'm back, school started again and it's been draining all my energy and motivation. Tried writing, actually i've been ITCHING to write, especially about flojami hehehehhehe
