“Just because I agreed to come swimming with you doesn’t mean I still don’t approve of all...this.” Zion reminded Eli with a joking smile, flicking his tail as he rested his body against the edge of the pool. He wasn’t fond of swimming in pools - they were too confining and as a rather large man, he always felt constricted - but it had been ages since he’d swum with Eli and he’d missed his dear friend. He thought swimming to be quite the bonding activity and the fact that he’d had to confine his interactions with the other to his restrictive humanoid form was no good.
Purple and blue scales shining in the fluorescent lighting, Zion couldn’t help but wonder what the chemicals would do to a merman given enough time. He knew humans (and other creatures who inhabited the land) treated their waters with all sorts of things he couldn’t pronounce and, personally, he didn’t trust it. Eli seemed to be fine and he’d been doing it for ages, but that didn’t mean the issue wasn’t on his mind on and off.
“So...what do you do in here all day?”
