thought about vtmb2 today and finally understood how guys who punch walls feel

i have so many thoughts about pallegina again and most of them are that i love her and deadfire sucks

#it’s not even out of character necessarily it’s just bad writing and a worse plot #the existence of factions and forced alliances is the WORST thing that ever happened to video games

i really liked true colors, i will probably end up replaying it, and the characters were very likeable, but god steph and ryan would have really benefited from like. literally any backstory outside of easily-missed memory collectibles. perhaps a flaw or two. it was a bit surface level lol as it is i felt more emotionally connected to eleanor

#like esp in steph's case there was really nothing about her you wouldn't know from playing bts #a handful of scenes (incl one with steph equivalent to how alex demonstrated her power to ryan) would've been enough imho #lis spoilers #kinda

oh if i wasn’t obsessed with chris redfield before i am now!!! what a guy. imagine a man killing your wife, kidnapping your baby, and attempting to kidnap (?) you but instead you get brutalized by the entire roster of fucking universal monsters and when you finally see him again (as a fish-man attempts to murder you) he tells you to fuck off and refuses to provide any more information. fish-man attacks and your baby is apparently key to some ceremony btw. when you catch up to him again and accuse him of murdering your wife (which you saw with your own eyes) he’s like how could you think that?? that WASN’T your wife, obviously, but idk when you would’ve had the time to psychically intuit that. maybe somewhere between the second and third time you lose a limb. he refuses to apologize then ditches because idk boss fight and lets you die. its awful lmao

It’s been over a year since Fogbank and Storyscape were shut down, and it still pains me to think of how close we were to finishing AGELESS. In that story, you could play a non-white, non-binary PC. You could choose your pronouns. The story had romance in it, but wasn’t romance-focused (you could be ace if you wanted.) The villain was not conventionally attractive, and you could still choose to romance him. You could choose to be merciful or a blood-crazed murder machine. One of my favorite moments in the show involved a flashback to post WWII (since it was a vampire story, there were a lot of flashbacks) and you had the choice to rip the still-beating heart out of a Nazi’s chest. The show was created and written by a woman, directed by a gay POC, produced by a queer gender fluid person (me.) I’ve probably said too much and yet, would love to say more because I am so sad none of us will ever experience it.
