Maybe life isn’t asking you to be extraordinary. Maybe it’s asking you to notice that ordinary things have been extraordinary all along.
Some people are storms. Some are shelter. I used to think I had to choose. Now I understand. I can be rain when I need cleansing, and roof when I need rest.
I hope I never stop noticing the little things. The smell of rain. The first fireflies of summer. The sound of leaves in the wind. Fresh coffee before sunrise. Life is built from moments most people hurry past.
Maybe the person you’re trying so hard to become is quietly waiting for you to stop pretending to be someone else.
Maybe your soul doesn’t measure your life in promotions, followers, or applause. Maybe it measures it in sunsets you noticed, people you forgave, and mornings you chose to begin again.
Maybe the mountain was never there to test your strength. Maybe it was there to teach you that every step counts, even the ones no one applauds.
Maybe healing isn’t becoming someone new. Maybe it’s returning to the person you were before the world convinced you to be someone else.
The older I get, the more I understand why trees are admired. They survive storms without announcing it. They grow slowly without apologizing for it. They stand alone when they must and provide shelter when they can. There is something beautiful about quiet strength.
I want a life that smells like old books, wood smoke, rain on tin roofs, and coffee made too early in the morning.
I want calloused hands, meaningful conversations, handwritten journals, and enough courage to chase the things that keep me awake at night.
The world moves fast.
I’d rather move honestly.
Tonight the moon is hanging over the hills like a lantern left burning for travelers who haven’t found their way home yet.
The air smells like summer.
The crickets are singing.
The world feels softer after dark.
Maybe some things are only meant to be understood under moonlight.
I don’t dream about being famous.
I dream about a small house filled with books.
A garden that feeds more than just the body.
Coffee before sunrise.
Rain against the windows.
People I love gathered around the table.
A quiet life can still be a beautiful one.
Sometimes I think we're all just collections of stories trying to become something beautiful.
Every scar.
Every mistake.
Every road we wish we'd never taken.
Somehow it all becomes part of the art.
