like honestly, if you’re going to make a claim that a post from a charity organization (in this case old friends senior dog sanctuary) asking for money is a scam, then you could at least spend more than 2 fucking minutes making sure what you’re saying is actually true. 

what you’re doing is spreading false information and depriving them of donation. it’s not good enough to apologize hours later when your post has gotten thousands of notes. a lot of people are already believing at this point that it’s a scam, and will not donate because they now believe that old friends senior dog sanctuary is not in need of money (which they are!).

no, the post (at least the one i’ve seen circling around) claimed the entire thing was a scam, putting a huge red cross over a screenshot of one of OFSDS’s facebook posts with the title “old dogs REALLY need your help”. 

and they didn’t “link to the the correct website”, they just linked to a different one. OFSDS own more than one domain, and they’ve used the link OP claimed was a scam several times on their facebook posts where they’ve asked for donations.

i’m sure the person who made the post claiming it was a scam did it with good intentions, but that still doesn’t make it okay. they could have easily verified the fact that the link was real if they had visited OFSDS’s facebook page and scrolled down to find the post in question

it would literally have taken less than 5 minutes to do so, but instead they had to jump to conclusions and now thousands of people on this hellsite are reblogging this false information and won’t donate to OFSDS because they believe they’re being scammed
