I was experimenting with coloring techniques and wondering if I should get more bold with lineart / rendering techniques....

Haven't posted anything in ages, but here's how I'm starting a new semester...

Okay super awkward and sort of inspirative experience in my drawing class this evening.  My instructor told us we could draw anything, to which I coyly replied "Anything?" Because I was so used to professors telling us that but meaning only "higher art forms" (i.e. no cartooning or anything that represents anime/manga because it's not "real art").  To my surprise he said yeah and encouraged me to draw from imagination if I wanted.

Awesome. Totally gonna be silly and doodle from my (upcoming) webcomic.

Mid-class he insists that my scribbles be put on display in the art wing, and said he really liked some of the concepts once I explained what most of the scribbling was supposed to translate to.

Woah.

This is a serious first for me.  I was expecting to wait until I was in a character design class to get that sort of feed back (even though I'm a hack in most of my character designing hahaha).

Super embarrassed and kinda happy about this turn of events.

After over a week of unable to go into my studio class to draw, it felt good to get something done. Despite another migraine.

Roughly took 2.5 hours, sanguine and conte on butcher paper.
