Crash queens and motorbabies! Want to cheaply tint your visor without going broke? Theater color filters! They're big squares of light-tinting plastic (they feel kinda like laminated paper), and you can trim one to the shape of your visor and hot glue it in place. You can do letters too! Just make sure there's a bit of glue on the edges to keep it from peeling. Keep running!

my killjoys hcs:

jet star collects music and music related stuff. if he sees a cd or a record or a guitar pick he keeps it . the diner has 3 crates full of cds. every time they go somewhere, they pick a cd out of a crate to listen in the car

fun ghoul has suspiciously sharp teeth and his skin burns a bit too easily in the sun. bring it up and he’ll probably bite you

kobra is smart enough to repair bikes and cars and build complicated machines but cannot keep a houseplant alive

poison and ghoul are both artists. poison draws elaborate scenes of themself killing dracs and ghoul spray paints walls and draws weird little creatures in the sand

jet has been to the edge of the zones where the radiation is strongest . if it’s dark enough his eyes and blood seem to glow

poison is great at art but horrible at makeup. kobra helps them smudge their eyeshadow correctly

ghoul’s hyperfixations are fireworks and explosives and has a makeshift chemistry lab where he tests out different chemicals to make the coolest explosions. sometimes he and the girl just mess with chemicals for hours and need to be pulled away from the lab before they either burn something or forget to eat and sleep

besides their ray gun, poison loves knives and really wants to learn to swordfight .. dr.d has some swords at his radio station but won’t let any of the four touch them .. something about the swords being “ancient artifacts from a different time” and the four “setting everything they touch on fire”

basically they’re just four teenagers with adhd and a kid that’s also a bomb that love each other to death

jet star

jet was the first one to run away and tries to be parent and the “strong friend” of the group

the others constantly have to remind him that he’s allowed to have emotions and ask for help

jet is closest with kobra.. they spend hours talking about music and jet tries to help with kobra’s projects (even if he doesn’t understand how engines and cars work)

he’s also close with dr. d.. sometimes jet chooses songs for his radio

feels like it’s his job to remind everyone to eat and sleep and keep them from getting killed but the others try to take care of him in their own way

not sure if he and kobra are biological siblings or just close friends from childhood.. their parents either died, left, or did not care enough

he and kobra have the classic sibling communication. so many inside jokes .. they go from fighting to having deep conversations to laughing about something all in an hour

he and ghoul are the epitome of clown to clown communication.. they make up elaborate games that only they understand and seem to be mentally connected . they’re the same flavor of weird

speaking of ghoul.. they’re boyfriends . they were inseparable since ghoul joined the group. they do dumb shit together (then they kiss)

kobra kid

was quiet at first and distant from everyone except poison and his machines

didn’t trust ghoul at first until he noticed how much he loved poison

considers jet his best friend. poison is a great sibling but jet is something else

fun ghoul

was the last to leave bat city. was planning to work at better living industries and even started an internship there. one day he just wanted to disappear and run as far as he could

he’s very impulsive and forgets to take care of himself so he doesn’t know where he would be without the others

closest with poison and the girl but he also looks up to jet and kobra

the girl

thinks of jet, poison, and kobra as parents and ghoul as an older sibling

poison and kobra want to be the parents they never had. they teach her that everything bat city stands for is a lie

tried to shelter her from the world at first but realized that it was impossible. still, they tell her to look the other way when they’re killing

she motivates them. she’s their only hope

almost everything inside dj hot chimp's office is painted pink (her favorite color!). as a birthday present, newsagogo arranged for cherri and pony to go in with a bucket of neon pink paint one day while newsie distracted her. they came back from watching a roller derby to find everything from her desk to her coffee mug to her headphones in the bright new color. (she loved it, by the way.)
