➣ hello and welcome to my hyperfixiation haven! i love tadc to an absolutely unhealthy degree; ive been a fan of it even prior to the pilot era, but only really joined the fandom on mid-2025. i relate to the themes and characters of the show in a way i have never been able to in any other media, so its safe to say it holds quite a lot of importance to me

➣ also i'd assume this is common sense but, just like any other of my interests, i AM critical about this show and cast, and may reblog things related to that. i still love the show, but that doesnt mean that itself and its team is not subject to criticism

➣ most of the original content you'll see from me from this blog is shitposts (i have a LOT of thoughts about tadc, but ive no idea how to put it into words, so it mostly just comes out as nonsensical bullshit lmao) and fanart. i want to try to make analyses for it eventually.....

➣ my favorites are zooble (also a proud simp for them) and ragatha, but honestly i love and appreciate all of the characters for their weird flawed ways and want to put all of them under a microscope, im just way more obsessed with those two specifically

➣ i like a lot of tadc ships, but if i were to choose a #1 favorite it would probably be pomni x ragatha x gangle x zooble and ALL of the ships within it. but within that ship, if i were to pick just one specific pairing, my all time fave would probably be ragazoob! abstragedy, ragapom, and zoomni are other ships i particularly really enjoy within that polycule :-) but besides those, i also really like kingleader (yes, still), abstrabbit, chokinghazard and bucktooth (i also kinda like ribbun in a queerplatonic/platonic dynamic). any other ship i havent mentioned here i dont really gaf about but i respect it

Me and my friend @gabrielora had the dumb bullshtick idea of "what if they were just forever stuck in Spudsy's and went insane and they just became a comedy where they're all horrible to each other and Gangle tortures everyone for fun because she's the manager of the McDonald's and she can do that." Not even a serious idea either just some dumb slapstick bullshit they get into once a week too it's 100% a thing of the week type of insanity.

Gangle at Anime Detour

I felt really pulled to cosplay Gangle when this very clear vision of an alt style cosplay came to my head after seeing all these hyper femme cosplays of Gangle. There seems to be a kind of default look when people are cosplaying Gangle and I wanted to break out of that and really *play* with their look

Someone commented on one of my Gangle cosplay tiktoks calling me Emo Mall Goth Hot Topic Gangle and I was like YES YES YES YOU FUCKING GET IT

I see gangle as a anime watching, stuffie collecting, ramen eating, tumblr surfing, self identified Otaku. As I made this cosplay I felt more and more connected to this character.

I had a lot of fun making this cosplay. I made the vest out of an old pair of overalls I never wore. I painted the faces on the pockets. I laced up my handmade ribbon through safety pins to create the corset look. It was about a 12ish hours con crunch (18ish episodes of Gossip Girl) over the course of 2 days. My lovely partner worked on my mask. They also let me wear their tail that I have at this point completely stolen from them. I added the clips to make it an accessory to put on my chain. I got the red high tops of fb market for $5. The only thing I really spent money on was the ribbon for the arms and bows for the back of the jacket and the tail which was about $20

Friday morning I woke up early to do my hair and makeup, experimenting a little with a main idea I had in my head. I was very excited to use all my red hair accessories. My blackity Black hairstyle and my blackity Black alt look made me very excited to debute this look. Its slay and comfortable and one of my fav cosplays I've made so far!

Anyone who's in the fandom and has any awareness of what's happening knows that there is racist controversy going on. Not allegations, straight up actual racist comments/actions have surfaced from a stream in 2019. Its not the most heinous thing to ever happen, so I don't feel like I need to completely disengage from TADC but to be so fr, it is kinda tainted now. Not just because of the stream itself, but how the people involved - the cast, creators and fandom - are reacting.

I once again as a Black cosplayer/fandomer have to be hyper aware of white creators, white cast and white fandomers.

When I went to Anime Detour I kept getting called Abstracted Gangle even tho theres nothing indicating abstraction (like the colorful eyes). Maybe too small to be called a microagression but did feel subconsciously racially motivated to see me and how I did my cosplay to assume that its the crashout/dead version of my character. I corrected this person and said "not abstracted, just Black and emo!" And they were very chill about it.

A few other (white) TADC cosplayers didn't recognize me as Gangle at all.

Im just having a lot of feelings as a Black cosplayer in this fandom where I have seen other Black people call it "white people shit" which... when theres a white cast and white creators how wrong can that statement be? It does feel invalidating, bc nerd shit historically gets shut down by other nonfandom Black folk and labeled as "white ppl shit." Like damn can't a Black bitch be nerdy in peace?!

But then racist shit happens and white people defend or ignore it and you can't help but think "well this /is/ some white ppl shit!!"

Theres too many thoughts to put on this one post where I mostly wanna center my creativity. But to any Black TADC fans: I see you, I feel you. You're allowed to like and connect to media even if the cast/ creators disappoint you. Your complicated feelings make sense and are valid. Don't let white ppl in this fandom ruin the experience for you.
