The episode 6 conversation between Pomni and Ragatha was actually Chock Full of therapyspeak, like 3 psychology terms were dropped every sentence. that’s why the writers cut it out of the show. Thank you, writers

Another Take I have I guess is that if your main complaint about a piece of media is that it doesn’t have enough Filler (not character development or plot development or tied up loose ends I’m talking about Filler as in FILLER as in could be removed entirely and Your understanding of the Story Overall would not meaningfully change) then I think what you want is Fanfiction. I think you want to Read Fanfiction. Fic is by definition stories where you can put any characters in any situation, divorced as far as you’d like from the canon media’s pacing or focus or central themes. It’s Infinity Filler. The treasure you seek is underneath you

Why is “This show uses Therapy Speak” a common talking point…… No it. doesn’t.?

All the scenes in this show of characters sitting down and having sappy conversations with eachother do not use any therapy speak… The closest anyone in the show gets to using Therapy Terms is when Pomni asks Jax if he has trypophobia. Nobody drops shit like “I think you have anxious attachment and that’s why you’re doing xyz” They’re just being Honest about their own and eachother’s feelings and asking blunt questions because none these characters are in the business of dancing around eachother forever Except for Jax guys come on

I’m sort of glad that Gangle’s idolization of Zooble fizzled out with episodes 7 and 8 instead of turning into a Problem for them.. Mainly because this idolization was established all the way in episode 6 out of 9 which is really Late to do all that, but also because I think Gangle’s lines at the end of the scene were meant foremostly to make Zooble reflect on themself and thus facilitate the closure of their arc rather than begin Another Arc for Gangle. There’s something really Nice about Gangle putting Zooble on a pedestal initially but then naturally dropping that mindset and supporting them when Zooble’s own weakness is revealed to her. The amazing our adult characters act like mature adults circus………

—But still it would’ve been fun if the Idolization Arc DID happen because it would’ve been fucked up and sad and I like being sad because of cartoons. Misery Forever. Everyone Dies

Both Jax and Zooble would feel stupid and irritated if they had to wear some kind of cutesy moe kemonomimi outfit but then would both also come to kind of enjoy them and keep the outfits in their rooms afterward and I think that’s #Important

The episode 9 blind boxes are fucking me up. I know by now that they aren’t canon, but still. Oh my god. Why is Zooble’s figure like that.

The difference in expression between their left and right eye, the way they’re holding their arm… It’s like the abstraction is temporarily interrupted by fear, or regret? Zooble panicking at the last moment and ripping themself apart to try and somehow escape their own decision, and their struggling only making it worse, like sinking into quicksand, as their body starts to fight against them, as it becomes something that isn’t them. Realizing too late that they don’t want to die. Sighhhhh

Ragatha’s too. The pose and her smile becoming a gigantic eye and the tiny tears. Really fucked up… the idea of Ragatha trying to happily reassure someone that she’s going to be fine, or that they’re going to be fine without her, as she dies right in front of them, waving goodbye to them. Or maybe she’s posing like this in front of a mirror, trying to reassure herself that this was the right thing to, saying goodbye to herself. Or maybe she’s posing for no one, and just doing it out of habit because she doesn’t know what else to do now besides what’s she’s always been doing, which is stand up straight and put on a big smile.
