Here is the second painting. The client didn't like this one and wants me to redo the plants because they look unintentional. It's strange when the thing you were most proud of in a painting is the thing people think needs fixing ahhh. What do you think?

hi, I just wanted to say that your paintings are so stunningly beautiful they honestly made me reconsider what is possible with watercolor. you have such an elegance and play in your design choices and an amazing way of making stunning colors in watercolor!!
Ahhhh! Thank you so much! It’s so nice to hear people other than myself enjoy the things I make. I truly appreciate it ✨
Kestrel 9"x5" Watercolor and Gouache
Raptors are one of my favorite birds and one of my only tattoos. I love their serious eyebrows; they look so focused and determined.
Breaking up forms by blacking out the darks instead is one of my favorite tricks.
One of my favorite 5"x7" paintings
Watercolor and Gouache
Tiger stripes are just begging to be abstracted!
The Lighthouse
20"x19" Watercolor
This painting came together quite organically. I worked on this one and Devotion in tandem so each one influenced the other. This was the first time in my personal practice where I worked on two larger paintings at the same time and it was so helpful!
It's been a struggle to find the courage to make larger paintings. They take so much longer, and it's much more frustrating when they fail.
Layering color over a tonal watercolor was also an exciting experience!
White's Tree Frog
5"x7" Watercolor
Another little guy in the "let's make small things so I don't make them too precious" realm... I mean... he is still a precious bby
I love how frogs have these amazingly exaggerated shapes. so nice to play with!
Silvery-Cheeked Hornbill
Watercolor 5"x7"
I did a whole little series of little 5"x7" paintings that had to be done in one day. Well, this one was done in two... heh
These little dinosaurs are so precious
Devotion
Watercolor 19"x22"
One of my recent works for my show at the Anita Purves Nature Center.
This painting is like a very old friend I have had many arguments with but ultimately love. So many late-night conversations lol.
