Sharon Maguire Directing Colin Firth, Julianne Moore & Laura Linney In 'The Joy Of Sex'; Project Details Revealed.
David Tennant has joined the cast of The Joy of Sex, an "unconventional love triangle comedy [...] about how the famous 1970s love-making manual came about."
"Published in 1972, the sex manual The Joy of Sex was a scandalous sensation, selling more than 15 million copies worldwide, spending 70 weeks at the top of the New York Times bestseller list. Sex in the suburbs was never the same again."
"Firth, Moore and Linney are joined by David Tennant (Dr Who), Jason Watkins (The Crown) and Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread). Script is written by Sharon Maguire and Lise Mayer."
Filming begins this week in the UK.

in light of the announcement of the new how to train your dragon school book, here are some times Cressida Cowell has praised David Tennant:
Cressida Cowell said, "I've been immensely lucky to have David Tennant interpreting my books for over a decade, and I'm absolutely thrilled that he's going to be reading The Wizards of Once. "Having your story brought to life by an actor of his skill and genius is a special kind of magic. My first aim as a children's author is to get kids reading, and a fantastic audiobook is a vital component in that quest. "David's incredible talent has introduced thousands of families to How to Train Your Dragon. A large number of children and parents have told me that they were so gripped by listening to his audio version on long car journeys that they had to stay in the car even after they reached their destination, in order to hear the end of the story. I can't wait to hear him reading The Wizards of Once."

And although she’s shared the red carpet with the stellar cast of the animated movies — including Gerard Butler, Jonah Hill, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jay Baruchel and Cate Blanchett — it’s Doctor Who legend Tennant who left her in awe.
“He does every character, going from a Scottish accent to Irish and American within seconds. It’s amazing. We were so lucky to get him as it was before he did Doctor Who, but he’s been so loyal he has come back to do them ever since. I actually get to sit in the studio and watch him doing it. One time he broke off and said, ‘I think you made a bit of a mistake here.’
“He’s so smart, he spots even the tiniest discrepancy. He’s such a very bright guy and a brilliant actor.

The first trailer for Disney+’s forthcoming TV adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s Rivals has dropped, starring the always magnificent David Tennant. I bet he will have an absolute whale of a time playing Lord Tony Baddingham. Rivalswas one of my go-to comfort reads when I was in my 20s, so very nostalgic for me and so many others. Everything David touches seems to turn to gold, from Hamlet to Broadchurch to Staged to Good Omens, and the lead director of Rivals is Ted Lasso’s Elliot Hegarty, so I have high expectations for this.
