Swapped the stock throttle body with that of a 4G69. Had to swap the TPS as well. Mid range response was good.

Got rid of my twintip exhaust due to powerloss. Got a used muffler from Hotbits. Was not disappointed at all. The twintip caused low end to suffer yet increased exhaust flow at top end. This s flow setup is for highway cruising and mid range acceleration.
Had some free time to practice my fabrication skill. Nothing much really. Although I do felt some low end improvement after making the custom scoop.
Received the replica Evo X steel hood from China. It’s heavy alright.
New cams in, a stock Evo X camshaft. But not much difference can be felt due to the CVT limits the rev till 6300rpm only.
I installed BC V1 coilovers, got them for cheap and were in good condition. Seems one is leaking already.
Putting on the exhaust and header from Hotbits. Reviews show good response after installing the 4-2-1 header.
Bought these 2 parts from Rainbow Pen. The exhaust is a 2.3 inches inlet and 4.5 inches dual tip outlet. The lightbar headlights are projector type, with a halogen bulb high beam.
Costs me approximately USD200 for the muffler and USD300 for the headlights. Spoiler alert, muffler ain’t do any good, cause it’s a CVT.
The feeling of being pulled back to your seat is what makes us petrolheads, addicted to speed. This is a journey of a 10 years old Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT (2007/08) into what it has become today. Many may know by now that this car is the one that initially got people confused with its bigger brother, the real Evolution X. Well, it’s not adequately fast, especially in Malaysia market where the only option is to get one with a CVT. The laggy feeling caused by rubber band effect of the transmission left a lot to desire. And hence, owners started to do simple bolt ons that have insignificant increase in power, mostly hampered by the fact that the car was paired to a CVT (Malaysian market) Over time, my posts will show the stupid (ricey) and also beneficial modification that the car went through. The old pictures were extracted from somewhere else and might have some inconsistencies in the story telling.
