you heard of a fan campaign on twitter called #apeswillescape?

Yes I have, not too keen on it in my opinion. I don’t mean that negatively, I really admire the amount of passion and love the community (in it’s entirety) has for the games/series and drive to want to see it’s revival for a Trilogy Remake or (even better) 4, but it comes off to me as kinda pushy, which I totally think is a no-no. Sony/SCE will revive it out of their own will, which I think is the best outcome, if they revive it with the same amount of passion the Spyro Trilogy was given, then it would be amazing to see.————————The whole campaign thing to me seems kinda silly, as if it would have any impact to the decision that SCE will make. If it had like tens of thousands of followers, then maybe I’d have a different view on it. That’s not to say that a few numbers don’t mean anything, anyone showin support/love for the possibility of a revival is cool. It also just comes off to me as “if it gets revived I totally called it and it’s totally cause of my campaign ya’ll” kinda vibe, which I could (and most likely be) TOTALLY be wrong about since I’ve only had a passive look at the twitter page, I don’t mean to offend them or any of that. I do admire that someone/a group had enough passion to want to start somethin though, or at least bring the community together, and if that was it’s intention, then that’s great. Even so, all Ape Escape die-hard fans want a revival, I don’t think we need an “official” group to loudly say hey hey hey stop monkeyin’ around and all that.————————- I want Ape Escape to come back as much as the next guy, and I will totally admit I went through a period of a loss of hope thinkin “nah there’s no hope anymore I ain’t gonna hold my breath for a revival anytime soon,” and seein Spyro Trilogy and many Ape Escape fans coming out of the shadows in increasing numbers did make me gain back my hope, but I feel like we just gotta keep bein patient, and if it happens it happens, and hope it’s full of passion and love like the other Trilogy remakes. If it DOES happen sometime soon, that’d be just awesome, then we could all go bananas together as a community.

have you ever made an ape escape animation?

As self-pitying as this sounds, and really don’t wanna sound like those “ugh my art sucks” kinda people or whatever, but Ape Escape is honestly just one of those things I feel I can’t do justice with my skills yet. Like, I’ve never (or at least rarely) even made fanart of it, cause I don’t wanna make it look wonky. As far as my sense of humor goes, I wouldn’t wanna smudge my love for the series with like super bad humor of Spike like bashin a monkey repeatedly with the stun club or anythin like that ya know? I dunno, maybe one day. There IS a super huge lack of Ape Escape spoofs or parodies. I dunno, maybe with some requests one day I’ll have the will to do so.

I'm glad OneyPlays and DidYouKnowGaming finally made Ape Escape videos, but it's one thing to know AE fans want another game, another thing is: how should a new Ape Escape game be made?

Yeah! Not to say that watchin’ Chris and the gang playin it pushed me to believe “This is it. If THEY’RE playin it, it MUST be big now!” or anything, but as soon as I saw people getting interested after that Speed Run event and of course DYKG acknowledging it and all, it seemed as it was inevitable.As far as how it SHOULD be made (sorry if this answer isn’t to the way you had asked the question), I think the most important aspect would be for the team that will be creating the game to not feel obligated to just pump out the next sequel, but that they should want to, know what I mean? I think I’ve said this before a while ago, of the importance of the creator’s passion to put into 4 (gosh willing it happens), and not put the focus into making the game purely for the purpose of launching into a successful 4-more-sequels kind of series.And if you mean how the new game should be made in terms of the game ITSELF, while I personally would want it to be jam-packed with tons and tons of features, like all 4 of the protagonists as playable characters, each of them having unique abilities and stuff, and maybe like a more “villainy” direction to take with Specter, like maybe now, even without his modified Peak Point Helmet, after the constant use of it, his brain had retained some of the knowledge and like, I dunno, has more resentment towards humans to the point where he declares war on humanity, idk, something like that. Maybe the Pipo Trons pushed him towards the edge. Maybe the Pipo Trons hurt his trainer and blamed the humans I DUNNO what do I know. That’s what I’d WANT, somethin more action-y/story heavy, but if it came down to Sony/Ubisoft, I can say right now they wouldn’t wanna risk too much with the series, hence why they haven’t paid much attention to it for a decade now, so I know they’d wanna keep it a bit on the “safe side,” not take too many liberties, and basically make 4 like 3, except maybe with even more monkeys, and depending on the characters, more morphs, and including like Pipo Trons as a “new” threat.I dunno. All we can do is hope. Sorry for the long rant, but gosh golly Ape Escape makes me BANANAS. Sorry.

I recently got some CoroCoro magazines, and there were some surprise Ape Escape chapters inside, so I went ahead and translated them. They’re just silly 4koma, but I haven’t seen them online before. The title of the series is “サルゲッチュウキウキ大作戦!”, or “Saru Getchu: Uki Uki Great Strategies!”.

Notes: Unsarus is a pun on a Japanese comedian duo’s name, Ungirls.
